Default Anyone tried Lighter Life

Has anyone here tried the lighter life diet. I am going to my first meeting on Sunday and wondered if anyone here could shed some light on whether it works or not.

its a diet where you don't eat any food, just supplements that they provide you with, not sure what exactly i imagine its similar to a slim fast thing. Apparently you lose 3stone in the first 100 days then a stone a month afterwards. Only trouble is I have to travel to Manchester every Sunday for a 2 hr counselling session. I'm not sure if i should now starting to have my doubts.

I don't want to put you off but sounds hard and expensive no doubt. Even on slim fast you get to eat one meal don't you?

Don't like the sound of that. I like real food too much and wouldn't be happy with just supplements.

Definately not for me

I think this diet was in an edition of Womans World that i read i've still got it somewhere so i'll dig it out, i do know that the woman it featured DID lose a load of weight on it don't think that she only had supplements tho' i do remember that she said she'd even lost weight while on holiday. I'll see if i can find it tomorrow and check it out.

I found the article it was in a Womans Own that my sister gave me to read on the plane last year this woman lost 9sts in 9 months eating meal replacement packs consisting of breakfast bars, milkshakes and soups she even took 63 packs with her to Hawaii for a holiday which was a reward for losing 7sts from her hubby when she got back home she had lost another stone during that 3 week holiday. She paid 45 pounds per week and at her first therapy session the leader asked "Does anyone have a problem with leftovers?" one woman nodded and talked about how she ate all the waste food in her house.Slowly other people began to open up. Many also admitted that they hid food around the house-the classic sign of an addict. It was a revelation that they all had the same behaviour patterns and she realised she was a foodaholic. She has now finished with the food replacement packs and is on a low fat maintenance program. The plan GUARANTEED a weight loss of a stone a month.

I suppose this would be OK if you wanted quick results and could stick with it but you could do the same on your own with Slimfast or other brands out there i suppose the therapy is a big factor to consider especially if they really get to the root of your problem and help with that and according to this they are all fully trained practitioners who practice something called CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which uncovers the thoughts, feelings and actions that led to the weight gain in the first place. So, there you go Pippie i hope this helps you make a decision it certainly worked for this girl

Thanks Cathy that was a great help, i think i read that article too a long time ago you jogged my memory. I think i will go on Sunday and give it go see what i think, after all if i don't like it i don't have to go back. I have been so unsucessful with weight watchers and slimming world that maybe this will be the one for me. I need to do something though i'm so depressed with myself at the moment.
Thank you
Pippie
