Question Favourite UK food finds

Putting this one back up as I like to hear what l/f finds people have found in UK supermarkets so that I can go and buy them - lol.

My fave at the moment is the WW pack of 3 tins of tuna in tomato dressing (1pt)

I have it with a pack of melba toasts (1pt).

that is 6 topped crackers for only 2 points and really tasty

Been to M&S today. They have quite a lot of 3 for 2 and 4 for 3s on their Count on Us range at the moment.

I bought 3bottles of salad dressing - one tomato and basil and 2 roasted garlic and balsamic vinegar - £1.59 each, 3 for 2

I also bought 3 packs of mini pavlovas( 2 per pack) £1.79 and a chocca mocca mousse £1.39 4 for 3.

I bought some Count on Us Crisps too which are low.

The mousse was delicious (2 points) and so was the garlic dressing (less than half a point). I will let you know about the other stuff.

One of my favourite foods at the moment is the good old walkers square crisps at 2 points per packet

And my spicy pompadoms at 1.5 each, Steve keeps stealing them though so I have to go buy more, don't I ?

Are square crisps only 2points? I have some in the cupboard - love them but thought they would be high. Walkers french fries are only 1.5points per pack too.

BUTTER BUDS - yummy. I ordered them from Lakeland Plastic on the net but I think they have them in their shops too.

They are basically dried butter. The taste of butter without the fat. I have been having them sprinkled on a jacket potato. I put a littl Flora diet on first and then sprinkly on the butter buds - yummee.

I have also got my mum hooked too. She has had them in all sorts but her fave is putting them in mashed potato.

They come in little sachets so they are easy to take out with you. I am going out for dinner next week so I will be taking them to the restaurant with me.

I love butter buds, need to order some more. Why can't you just buy them in tescos ?

they come in packs of 40 (Ithink it is 40 anyway - lol) and they are one portion sachets. They taste just like butter. You can find them on the net at Lakelands.

Wonder why you can't buy them at the supermarket? We have Molly McButter sprinkles here, 8cals and 0fat per tsp and most supermarkets sell it..it comes in a little plastic shaker bottle like salt or pepper does and i've had a bottle in the fridge forever i've just looked but can't find a sell by date

Butterbuds? Nope don't do it for me. My friend bought them from the Lakeland Shop for me in Bluewater (Kent). However, I really don't see the fuss myself. I was really hoping I would like it. My friend's hubby looked at the ingredients and was shocked at the amount of salt. However I shall use em up on mashed potato and the like.

Speaking of whcih the Count on me mashed potated with cabbage is very nice and free on a green SW day.

Unfortunately some of the count on us (sweet stuff) I cannot have because they will insist on buning geletine in everything! SO very low fat yoghurts are out.

Bugger!

Are you vegetarian Peacock? I was vegetarian for 14 years and I was very strict too. It was only last year that I decided that my priorities were different now and that I would go back to eating meat. I was always surprised even after 14 years at all the foods with animal products in them. When I first turned vegetarian when I was 11 it was really hard to buy cheese etc now it is so much easier. The best thing that ever happened for me was quorn becoming easily available. I was never a big lover of soya.

Quorn fillets etc are a fantastic low fat food - yummee. Used with some of the chicken tonight sauces you can have a really low fat and easy to prepare meal.
