ah! ah! ah! ah! notice me! notice me! notice me! OI YOU - LOOK OVER HERE!
So I got up this morning and stepped on the scales. Wasn't feeling too brave but I have done it. After last weeks chickening out I was feeling stoopid!
I seem to be back in control, another 1lb, according to schedule, no sudden, unexplained extra loss. Just the pound I was aiming for!
But the DH seems to have hurt his foot, so I can hear a pizza calling out to heal him, and me!! Well perhaps not then!!
Congrats Stef Well done on that pound.
I am THE SAME!!!! Why? Oh why? I have had a good week, stayed within points and exercised, and drank all of my water.
I can't be stuck on a plateau.....I don't want to stay at thiis weight, I want to get into ONEder land. I do, I do.
We'll here's to another week of working on it, hopefully I'll be visiting that place this time next week
Good luck to everyone else too.
Oh Chris is'nt that maddening? maybe you should try adding a 100 or so cals and see if that has any effect remember Ali ? thats what she ended up doing
2 theories for plateau, according to the rules I work by in my weight management sessions:
Your body loses weight in cycles of about 14 weeks: 14 weeks loss and 14 weeks maintainance. In the Maintainance weeks your weight loss will dramatically slow or stop altogether.
You may now need to increase kcals a day if you have increased your lean tissue mass. The more muscle you get the higher your Basal Metabolic Rate, so you need to eat a little bit more to stop going into ''save everything' mode.
If you really have been very very good and aren't scared at gaining a pound or 3 try adding in a bit more food for about 4 weeks.
If it all goes horribly wrong I'll ring up the COunty Nutritionists and shout!
Thanks Cathy and Stef. It is a tad frustrating, but I like the sound of the 14 week thing. I last lost poundage Christmas Eve week and since then have stayed the same although I wasn't overly good at Christmas
I think I will try to add a bit more daily then, and see what happens. I'll let you know
