I'm feeling good today. After a week of being basically stuck in the house during the holidays because I didn't have enough money to go out (or buy junk), I had to go back to work today.
Of course, with the warmer weather, I wanted ice cream. I almost caved on my way home from work, but then went to Sainsburys anyway. Fortunately for me, the fruit section is right by the entrance... so I went and bought enough strawberries to last me until Friday, to have at lunch. Yummy healthy treat, I love them!
I didn't even wander in the direction of the ice cream aisle, despite wanting to, because I knew I'd regret it. Just picked up the strawberries and a magazine, and went to pay. Yay, no rubbishy junk food for me.
Maybe "Carpe Diem" doesn't mean spending all of your money, going bunjee-jumping, swimming with sharks, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro or whatever. Maybe it just means doing *something* each day, however small.
