I've been selected for the substitute bench tomorrow. My first rugby game. I'm BRICKING IT!
I've been loving the training, but this a step into the unknown.
A few months ago, fat, 42, smoking, ebbing fitness, a left leg prone to injury, only watched my first rugby game EVER in September. Haven't played competitive sports in 25 years...Hey, I think I'll take up rugby....
I looked at the subs line-up and there's only one other big gal on there. More than one front row injury and I could be up there in the middle of the scrum. Excited, but nervous as **** - as I'm not sure I'm technically ready. I think the coach knows I'm not ready, but in desperation I could be in there.
So please, wish me luck. But whatever you do - don't say "break a leg" (unless of course it's someone else's)
