Hi Ellie - that sounds like one severe diet hun!

I'm doing one that you might want to swap to when you have got that first lump off

It is the GL diet - look up The Holford Diet and GL diet on-line.

It is a low(er) carbs one, but not restrictive. It might be a goody for you to move onto for slower more sustainable loss and then long term maintenance. So far I am getting good results on it

Welcome to the 6 week challenge, I shall add you to tomorrows weigh in.

Good luck

Thanks Stef, appreciate it!
Yep, it is pretty severe, but the theory is that the benefits of actually losing the weight far out weigh the ills of fast weight loss. Somebody like me, who wants everything now, gets impatient with the slow and steady approach, and thus abandons it all together. (tried and tested on my part)
It is supervised by a doctor though (a real one!) and there are lots of steps later on to re-introduce 'normal' food and lose the last couple of stone slower etc, so am happy with it for now - it's pretty fascinating actually, all the science bit, and your body going in to ketosis and all that.

Thanks again

Ellie

Thanks for replying Ellie,

In truth I was a bit worried... but if you are under a GP and are getting all of the science to support your thinking and losing, then I shall relax!

(I was a healthy living consultant in a previous life and I still feel the urge to advise people).

It sounds like you have a good GP, often they don't have the time, training or inclination to help people in that way!

Anyhoo, welcome and good luck!

I can't imagine I've lose anything, I was up for over 40hrs from monday to tuesday trying to get uni stuff finished, eating anything and everything. Tuesday I fell asleep in the afternoon had dinner hthen feel asleep in the evening and didnt get up till midday.
I thought I was doing ok(I haven't been payign that much attention sue to exhustion) but I had a few drinks yesterday evening so I spoilt it. I wanna get back to the gym and walking I just feel like Im so tiredthere is no time at the minute.
*here's hoping next week will be calmer!*

Okay, I'm in too but don't get weighed until Tuesday, so will let you all know what I've lost then.

Start Weight: 22st 6.5lbs (314.5 pounds)

I'm aiming for 1st 7lbs (21 pounds) - Yes I know that's a lot, but I'm on my First proper week this week so should have lost quite a lot - So that will help!!

Here's hoping I can stay motivated

Well done Hungry...that's really great news!!

I've discovered something really great for Slimming World Members - It's called "Mug Shot" and the Noodles ones are free on a Green Day - They are lovely!!! I think they're going to be GREAT for me cause they'll give me something nice and soothing to nibble on when I'm hungry

So current weight is 282lbs. Will aim for 14lbs in the 6 weeks.

Good luck

I got on the scales this morning and got the figure of 260 so that's 6 pounds down this week, I'm keeping fingers crossed that I can continue losing.

I am weighing in tonight at 252, so that is pretty good. No exercise today other than brutal gardening(everything hurts)
So that is 6 pounds down...

I think it waits for 30 days, to make sure you are a regualr user. By the time we get half way through the challenge you'll be up and running
