Was at Drs today as I am giving blood tomorrow and needed to get his signature and used he chance for an MOT.

All was going well,

he weighted me , said I lost weight, i smiled and nodded like a good child and then he measured me,

as I stepped away from the height measuring thing, he uttered
"ok that's 5 foot 8 and half"

I felt I needed to correct him and assured him I was and always have been 5 Foot 7,

after a lot of remeasuring, calling in a nurse and checking my socks weren't too thick, I am learning to accept that I have grown an inch and a half....

So there it is....how to improve you BMI, magically grow, or like me assume the height you were at 13 is the height you are now.

Ps he also set my target weight today and it still leaves me in the Overweight BMI range??? but assures me BMI is as much use as chocolate teapot in some cases.

hehe....yeah, BMI isn't a good estimate of "fatness". It generally just works for large groups of people and estimates of what might be most healthy for them.

was it early in the morning? if you look at how the guinness world records for height are done people are measured 3 times over the day as you shrink as the day goes on. and also if you've lost a large amount of weight you'll have less pressure on your spine.

i on the other hand lost a full inch from playing rugby to much scrummaging.
