What do you see?
Do you have an image of yourself at target that, when you close your eyes and visualise, keeps you on track?
Mine is an image of me with my dark slim fit jeans and a gorgeous new pink and gold scarf, over a crisp white fitted 3/4 length sleeve shirt (something from Bravissimo to accommodate my curves!)
I've got my favourite tan Fossil handbag and Fossil sunglasses and my hair straightened in a neat slick high-ish ponytail.
I'm wearing some lovely strappy high wedge sandals and subtle yet flattering Mac make-up on.
If you've never done this I'd suggest you create an image and try it. They say to use as much detail as possible and then go over the image in your mind from head to toe and note why you feel amazing. It is a great positive motivator and has literally kept me in check on many occasions.
I've just done this since I was having a serious 'need to go out and buy lots of choc to get through essays' moment. 2 minutes of visualising this image and I'm just going to make a slimmer mocha instead.

Ooh I like this thread!
hmm. I always picture myself is darkwash low-ride skinny jeans (funny b/c I already have a pair but the size is already loosening) in new heels.. either red/black/dark green.. and I bought this reversible, black on one side, red-plaid on the other vest from Century 21 in a size medium..
I really really want to wear that with a long fitted baby doll white v-neck tee.
Maybe a belt, maybe.
Haha I picture all of that, me in my aviator sunglasses and my kathy van zeeland bag.. I got my hair cut recently at bumble and bumble.. so I'd just play up the curls/waves and it'd look pretty effortless haha.
I also picture myself out on the town with my boyfriend in a pretty dress or skirt.. with knee-high boots. I REALLY want boots. Don't know what kind of outfit yet, but that'll be the fun part when I go shopping
Do you have anything picked out that you want to buy/bought?

I love your image as well, especially the sunglasses and handbag!
Some of my outfit I already have and some I need to buy. I think that is what makes it so real to me.
I bought the lovely scarf/wrap a while ago and it's look great with very dark jeans. Like you I already own a pair but they are in a bigger size than my fantasy image!
I'm also liking your idea of having a daytime AND evening image. I'll have to get creating again.
Thanks for the reply, I'd love to share others' images as it's such a fun and positive thing to do

I see myself running with my new sleek, svelte, subtle muscularly defined body past a finish line in a marathon. I'm not wearing much besides a waspy tank and short shorts. I am glistening through a thin film of sweat and appear strong, determined -- inspirational.

I'm wearing a totally simple hippy dress. Kinda like Gewn stefani kinda dress in 'dont speak' - I think if I lost enough weight I could pull it off because I have small boobs. Just a nice small but simple dress

Haha, yeah I went shopping the other day and bought clothes outside of my comfort zone.. well more like things I WANT to wear and they're currently in my closet waiting for me to drop 15 pounds.. It's great motivation actually, I've been doing that throughout so whenever I drop 5-10, I always have a nice form-fitting top waiting for me after I step off the scale =P
This thread inspired me to go look up clothes to get more inspiration for what kinda clothes I want to buy... Thanks!

Lou I was only thinking about this today!
Like so many of you it is jeans I think about, just a nice bum hugging pair and a t shirt, but a t shirt that sits on the waist of the jeans not one that covers my bum like now.
Thats it! Nothing fancy! I guess in the evening it would be something classy and long, but i havent given that bit much thought yet!
What a great thread!

This is something I totally visualized at the start of my journey and it really helped! Thanks for reminding me to keep visualizing because I haven't been over the last couple months and it shows.
Since it's into fall when I reach my goal, I visualize myself in a pair of dark skinny jeans with a pair of high heel boots over top, and a slim fit turtleneck.
I'm going to have to take some time to figure out something more elaborate...
Beyond that, I'm thinking halloween costumes! do i want to be a sexy cowgirl or a sexy bumblebee? hmmm... LOL

Sadly I have been this way for so long that I cannot really picuture myself at a target weight (that from someone with a normally terrific imagination!). I would love to be able to wear heels but even if my feet slimmed down (as some say their's have) I don't think I could now. Yes I guess to wear a good pair of jeans and not struggle with the zip like I do now. Oh and maybe wear a dress and not have to worry about showing chubby knees but I think being 40+ I should keep to below the knee anyway. It would be nice if my tum disappeared somewhere. I have a side on view of it going from the kitchen to the bedroom and was amased at the mass of it. Ugh!

I think this is a really great idea - I tried visualising last night (after reading your posts) and it really helped!

hmm... a crisp white tailored button up, not one of those cheap ones either (I have trouble with button up shirts because I have a large chest, but my stomach is relatively flat in comparison...so they NEVER fit right! They've become that one piece of clothing I want to conquer. haha how lame, huh?). Collar sort of popped a little, with a black sweater vest over it. Dark wash designer jeans (if i ever get to a size 6...money won't even matter to me...I just want them!), my black prada heels (my feet have shunk a little, but I think a little more and they'll fit perfectly instead of hurting after an hour), and a brand new leather coach bag (my goal present to myself), with some hot sunglasses. My hair would be in a poofy, high ponytail and I'd look totally fierce.
I hope... Right now I'm between a 16 and a 14.... so I have a ways.

mxgirl I love your image too! May have to look into some Prada shoes as a goal present.
I use bravissimo and they do curvy and super cuvry fits for shirts. They also do vest tops and halter tops with integral hidden bras that are amazing. The are a bit pricey, but last ages and look so much nicer than trying to fit big boobs and small waist in a regular, off the shelf shirt. Not sure if they ship to the US but worth a look:

I'm glad this got bumped up as I am not feeling the vibes at present.
*must visualise*
