Default Had a clear out at the weekend

I got rid of most of my clothes that are too big for me at the weekend. This is the second time I've done this so all the stuff I've cleared fitted me in January this year (I'd lost about 60 lbs then). Anyhow I couldn't resist trying some of the stuff on and its amazing how huge some of these things are on me only 30lbs down from then. I've now got 3x30L bin liners full of size 20s and 22s which I'm going to offer to a colleague who's bigger than this but losing weight, plus another bin liner of stuff that too worn/stained for the dump. I've kept one pair of size 24-26 pants that I wore at my highest weight and I can get them on without undoing the button or fly. My hips now must be smaller than my waist was then - its hard to believe that I allowed myself to get so big.

Anyway no point to this post really just thought I'd share.

Kitty, that is so wonderful! I also want to tell you how cool it is that you are giving your clothes to a friend and aiding her in her weight loss.

I will keep a pair or two of my biggest pants so one day I can do the photo with me standing next to them, holding them out proudly in a "Check out how big my butt used to be!" fashion.

Keep up the good work!
I've already kissed Evans goodbye, I hated that shop anyhow. I'm currently a UK16 but still wearing some 18s which are too big but will see me through the 'summer'.

Oh Kitty!!!!! How wonderful!!!!!

I just went shopping recently for new clothes also. I'm assuming Evans is a Big Girls store like Lane Bryant in the US. I am right at the point that another 10-20 lbs will take me out of shopping there.

I agree that there is a point to your post. We need to celebrate our successes as we go along, or what the heck is the point of going thru all this trouble.

They do actually sell a 16 as the smallest size but there's no way I'd shop there when I now have the choice of hundreds of other High Street shops. There's so many of them that I don't really know where to start in developing my new style

Hey Kitty,
that's wonderful! I, too, have tons of stuff that I can no longer wear.
And congrats on being so close to your goal weight!

thanks, I'm still quite a way from my eventual goal weight. The one I've set in my profile is when I am no longer obese and the weight I was pre-pregnancy (my DS is 15 next week!). However I do think I'll re-evaluate that when I get there.

Wow that is amazing! Don't you feel good binning all those clothes???

I actually only ate half the amount of pasta I normally eat (enough for 4 people- I kid you not!!) so maybe I am getting better- although I had had a tummy upset the day before so (incredible but true) I was my food a bit!
