hello everyone. I've not been around this forum for ages but I wanted to say hello and give an update.

I've been on Xenical since May and have lost 50lbs so it really is worth sticking with it if you're on it. I've gone from weighing 19st to 15.6 and it really has changed my life already.

I am hoing to weigh 14 and a half for christmas so here is to hoping!

Good luck everyone.

Hello Claire. Pleased to hear your doing well. Had my monthly weigh-in yesterday with my dr losing 3kg during the month. I've lost 12kg since end of July whilst on Xenical, which was 10% of my body weight. I only needed to lose 6kg to continue being prescribed so I smashed the drs. target. My next target is 5.5kg in 3 months which I'm very positive about even with Christmas coming up.

I have my monthly weigh in on Thursday so hoping to finally break the 50lb mark.

The way I have made it work is just to stick to it. There have been times when I haven't lost for a while but keeping it with it has been something I never did before. When it would get to the stall times I would give up. Now, it has been over a year and I think it is just sticking with it.

Plus, if you aren't weighing yourself then you may very well have lost. It isn't like Atkins where it sort of falls off. It slows with time but keeps happening. Stick in there

Butterflykim

I agree with SarahJayne, just keep going and it does just happen. Many a time it seems to me as if I'm not doing anything particularly special. Even this month I thought I'd lost 2 or 3 lbs max, to find it was 3kg. I'd be very happy if I lose around 3kg for the remainder of my weightloss journey, in fact I'm going to make that my goal.

It must be the month for 3 kg I also went down 3kg from last month. Which takes me 4 pounds above my first mini goal (the same mini goal I have had for about a decade).

I put it all down to actually counting my calories and exercising this month.

Thank you The best part was 5 cm from my belly! My belly hasn't lost anything in about 6 months. So, that was almost better than the weight.

Butterflykim - my other tip is to make yourself take the pill at every meal. Don't think 'oh, I am going to have a really bad meal so I will skip the pill to not have the side effects.'. I found that taking the pills even with a bad meal is a really good lesson and keeps me making better choices

I'm still soldiering on. I have a few days this week where I will be eating out and so I am a bit worried that this will be a 'duff' week but I will just have to do my best and make next week extra good.
