Linda, congrats on the half way mark! YIPPEEE!!!!

Debbi, congrats to you too! Your back on track!

Shelley, an artist can see things most people do not take the time to see. You are an awesome person in mind, body and soul. I better tell Mike to watch this guy though.....hmmmm....I can just hear Shelley telling us she is modeling for the nude painting class! Did I make you laugh???? :-)

Chris, sounds like hubby puts in some long hours. What kind of business do you guys have?

I ran the push mower for 4.5 hours today and burned lots of calories!!! THEN, Steve & I decided a night out. After the Chinese buffet, I think I should of mowed 12 hours! We then went to see the Davinci Code. It was an OK movie, not exactly what I expected. Have any of you seen it?

Cheryl, my brother is getting 20-30 on his irrigation and the dry land is only doing around 15/acre.

Gayle-Becky saw the movie twice. She really liked it. Patty thought it was just okay. Since we are Jewish, we really don't know the complete story of Christ, so Patty wasn't too sure on the story.

Debbi-WTG on the WI. I am so happy to have company over at the exercise thread, even though I haven't been there all that much.

Mike put my new shiny sink and faucet in the kitchen. I love it. It sure beats the other one that was so messed up from our water.

Gayle, I saw the DaVinci Code and enjoyed the movie. I liked that they didn't stray far from the book, just left some things out. I was pleasantly surprised at Tom Hanks. I know he is an amazing actor, but I just didn't see him in the role, but he pulled it off!
Four and a half hours with a push mower! WOW!

Shelley, I was so excited when we got the new faucet put in the kitchen sink! I kept going and standing by it! Now we have a new one in the one bathroom and will be redoing the full bath this summer, so I will have more "toys"! Enjoy yours!
Hope you are feeling better!

Linda, half way! WTG!!

Good Morning Everybody,

TGIF!! So glad this week is finally over and I'm headed for a 3 day weekend. My DD is going on Monday for her first ultrasound. She's wanting to see what sex the baby is going to be. I'm going too cause I'm nosey!

Worked last night and we weren't too busy. I was good and stayed away from those darn HUGE malted milk balls! Those are my weakness. I work part-time at a coffee shop and we sell cakes, candy, sandwiches, and coffee. Thank goodness most of that is NOT my weakness! I do sneak a taste every once in a while though.

Shelley - way to go on the compliment! People never see themselves as they truely are. So just smile and think "I'm one HOT MAMA!" I know I'm still stuck in that "I'm a fat butt" mode and it surprises me when I am paid a compliment. I just know that when I take my clothes off I still see the fat rolls, the stretch marks, and the "hail damage (cellulite)" that no one else sees. I'm just wondering how long it's going to take me to get out of thinking like that.

Has anyone else discovered that since you are more active now that you've lost weight, do you do things that you wouldn't normally do when you were heavier? I'm trying to branch out of my normal every day things and it's been fun but scary! I'm going this weekend to a casino in Mississippi to hear a band I've never heard of. Dr. Zarr's Funkmonsters! They are from Memphis, TN and are a 70-80's disco band (yeah, I'm telling my age here) and they dress up in the clothing worn in that time era! Should be interesting.

Y'all have a great Friday! I'll check in later!

Gayle...my husband works for Sears as an Appliance Tech. and we have our own appliance business too. He finally got hold of his district manager last night who let him go at 6:30. He didn't have to finish the last 4 calls he had on his route for the day. I do most of the bookwork for our business and work part time for my dad and stay at home with the kids the rest of the time.

Hey all. What is on the agenda for the day? I'm going to just work on my calorie intake and drinking lots of water. I still plan on babying my knee today. I just don't know what I did, but it pulls on the left upper side of my knee and the lower side on the right and it feels like there is fluid in there. It's swollen too. So anyhow...today is just going to be an at home day doing laundry and I think I'll just clean up the kitchen and be done with things.

Check back in a bit.

Shelley ~ I'm glad you're feeling better and posting! It just wouldn't be the same without hearing from you everyday...good mood or not!

Gayle ~ You win the mowing contest! I only pushed for 2 1/2 hours. Too bad riding doesn't burn more calories...I rode for 3 hours.

I saw the DaVinci Code and thought it was a really good movie! Tom Hanks was wonderful!

Linda ~ Congratulations on making it to your half way point! Have a great time this weekend!

Debbi ~ Way to go on the weight loss! You are definetly on the right track now!

Chris ~ It must be handy having an "in-house appliance repairman"! Seems like there is always an appliance that needs work around here...right now it's my oven.

Janice ~ I'm glad that you check in even when you don't have much to say!

Cheryl ~ What's your weather forecast look like? Any rain in the near future? It looks like it's going to act like summer here this week...upper 80's for us!

Dee ~ Where are you?

Hi guys I haven't even been lurking the last day or two. I have been enjoying the great outdoors and since my pool house doesn't have a pc I can't post. lol
No actually yesterday I helped Dez from early morning til bedtime unpacking and organizing. She tried to convince me to come back for the couple of hours that she has between her jobs but is said no.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Any special plans for Father's Day? I'm having my mom and dad over. I'm not sure what to cook. I'd appreciate any ideas you might have. I was going to do spaghetti, but I called Mom and they were having it when I called on Wednesday. They don't ever eat beef at home, and I was thinking about having steak (Mike's favorite,) but with the sky high price of good cuts right now and the lack of $$, I would rather have something else.

Pray for me, ladies! Mike had an interview yesterday and it went well. He is supposed to find out something on Monday. They had one more person to interview after him.

Janice-You are doing so great with your weight. I'm so proud of you.

Dee-Enjoy the sunshine and your pool

Gayle-I am still in need of motivation for getting back on Core. I have starting eating animal crackers as my before bed snack, and really enjoy them. They aren't Core friendly, though. My WI this morning was 131. Ack!! I just can't back into counting the Flex points either. Maybe after this depression I'm having lightens up I'll be able to cope with getting more OP.

We don't have any plans at all for Father's Day. Tim is out of town and won't be back until sometime late Sunday afternoon. I'm sure that he'll be ready for a home cooked meal after eating out all weekend, so I'll probably do something on the grill.

Shelley ~ What about grilled chicken breasts for your Father's Day dinner or maybe just an old fashioned picnic with burgers and hot dogs?

You know you're in my prayers and I'll be saying extras that this is the job for Mike! Please let us know as soon as you hear anything!

Dee ~ It sure is a lot of work getting settled after a move! How does Dez like her new place?

Rob is working tomorrow, so no plans for Father's Day. (We don't have kids anyway, just the cats, who did buy him a card!) I will be busy loading the new closet, now that it is all primed and painted! That is today and tomorrow's job as well as a mountain of laundry to tackle!

Dee, moving is the pitts! I moved in Dec. only across the street, but it was so much work, packing and unpacking! I did enjoy tossing a ton of junk we never us and don't need.

Shelley, chicken on the grill is a great idea for dinner. You could also do some grilled veggies and if you have space, even eat outside! Saying extra prayers for Mike!

Well I am going to go do an exercise tape and then start putting stuff away in the famous closet!

Wow you all sound busy. I can't say we have any real plans for Father's Day either. My dad took off on Wednesday for a fishing trip and he won't be home until tomorrow evening. We have to drive up to Harlow to get my oldest daughter and bring her back home. I know she doesn't want to, but if she wants to remain in competition dance, she has to come home for 6 weeks of summer classes. That will keep her and me busy until the end of July.

Shelley-wish I could help in the food suggestion dept. but I'm drawing a blank... The only thing I can think of and can't get off my mind because I want some are Chicken and Veggie ka-bobs on the grill.

Gotta go...Kayla wants to play a game on the computer and I need to get my butt outta my pajamas and get something done today.

C-ya,
chris

Shelley, I like the burger/hot dog idea. Or if they like beef but never eat it, how about pepper steak prepared in the crockpot? If you crockpot it, you can use the cheaper cuts of meat and it will be tender. I usually get round steak then top with onion/green pepper/seasoning and let it simmer all day. Good by it's self or placed on top of noodles.

We are having my mom's 80th birthday party tommorrow with family. I suprised her with an announcement in the local paper for a card shower. Her BD isn't until Wednesday, but she has already received several cards.

Chris, have a safe trip!

Debbi, enjoy the new closet!

Suzy, I hope Tim makes it back in time to enjoy his fathers day.

Dee, did you get Dez all moved & unpacked?

Linda, if I worked in a coffee shop with all those goodies, I would be rolling instead of walking.

Shelley, sending Mike GOOD LUCK VIBES! They say it is better to interview towards the last so you will be better remembered.

I liked the Davinci Code, just different then I expected. I thought it was going to have scenes related to biblical times. I love Tom Hanks!

Have a great weekend girls!

I decided just to go ahead and do the spaghetti, since they never have it with meat sauce. I got my dad and Mike a USF hat. Becky is going to take Mike out for dinner next week, and Patty got him a dvd.

I have actually been cleaning. I cleaned both bathrooms, but they both need total remodeling. I might peel the wallpaper off mine and paint on my vacation. Paint isn't all that expensive, and my bathroom is very small. The new vanity will have to wait.

Gayle-Tell your mom happy birthday from your friend in Fl. I'm sure the party will turn out terrific.

I need to stop eating carbs. I feel my legs and thighs expanding. I am going to try for 10 again today, I did go yesterday, but my heel has been hurting all night. I'm not sure if I can make it or not. I might change to biking for awhile, if I can get Mike to dig out 1 of the bikes from the shed.
