Shelley - what is your doctor saying? I keep thinking I should be starting menopause and when my doctor does blood work he says I'm not.
I thought it was kind of crazy to take an arthritis program but I have learned so much. I thought it was all about the bones - boy was I wrong. With inflammatory arthritis it around all the joints and without treatment will damage the bones underneath. This is my last week.
I have good days and bad days. I just keep telling myself there are many things that are a lot worse than this.
Dee - How are you these days. Did that shot you got a while ago do anything at all for your pain?
This is the first day of spring and its snowing here
Have a great day everyone!!

Happy First Day of Spring Floozies!
It's 30 degrees and snowing here this morning! My calendar says that it's the first day of spring...so why isn't it sunny and 70?

Gayle ~ It sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you! I hope all goes well...especially at the dentist office!

Janice ~ It's so good to hear from you! I do hope that between the program at the hospital and the new meds that you will get some relief soon.

Shelley ~ I think it would be a good idea to make an appointment with your GYN for a check up.

Just two more weeks and Travis will be back in the United States! I think these last few days are proving to be the most stressful for me. I'm not sleeping very well, I'm having a hard time keeping focused during the daytime and I won't even mention the food choices that I have been making! I think it's due to the excitement of him coming home and the worry that something will go wrong and his homecoming will be delayed, but I know I'll get through it no matter what...

Cheryl I appreciate you keeping the board going. It sure makes our lives easier. How are you doing?

Suzy remember how you gainned all that weight before? Could some of the problems have been emotional eatting? STOP!!! Don't do it to yourself. You have changed your eatting habbits, don't fall back on the old ones. You only have two weeks left, give it all you got and get off the last couple of pounds.
Travis will be home soon and you will be kicking yourself. Keep yourself busy with something else.
Happy belated Patty's Day. I didin't know you were Irish.

Gayle thanks for sharing the information you get from Ramona and Sherry. I sure do miss their posts. I hope that one day they will be able to post.
Freezing rain is so scarey. I can ship you some snow if you want. I am sick of it and I haven't even been home long. It is starting to melt but we have over two feet.
How do you like your fugly shoes? I seen the croc knock offs they look simular but they are a bit heavier and the little reflexology bumps are bigger. What color did you buy? I love my red ones and am going to buy me another pair!
Are you disappointed that Steve is gone on Allison's spring break? Are you working? I use to love looking forward to spring break, with the day care I took the kids on all kind of excursions. I am not sure who loved them more, me or the kids!

Shelley I wrote you a post on "that other thread" that everyone pretends that they don't know about....hehe
I think that you do need to increase your protein, with all the running you do and your longer heavier period it would have a double benifit. I know that when I am hungury I will grab a small handful of nuts, usually that helps.
The amount of calories that you eat compared to the calories you burn may not be enough. The sugar monster has control of you, you can exchange those empty calories for something better.
I am working on a story from Paradise this week so when I get it finished I will post it.

Janice the Lurker, Canadian Chicks rock so stick it out with me. We need your input.
I am sorry to hear that you haven't had any results yet from your meds. Maybe it takes time before you see the results.
The shot I had didn't help. It actually made me worse for awhile. We haven't found anything that works yet but painkillers and gavapentin which helps with the nerve pain. It sucks but like you say it could be worse. Less than two years ago I was using a wheel chair so I think that I have done very well.

I had a surprise when I came home Saturday. There was a lovely wraped gift between my doors. Guess who it was for? Yes it was for me. It was a belated birthday girt for me from a friend that was away in Hawaii. I got a short blue wrap with orange fishy's on it and a beautiful multi colored beaded long necklace with a chunky cross on it. I just love it. Don't you just love surprises?

HAPPY SPRING GIRLS! NOT!

We are having a predicted up to 15" of snow dumped on us! Wouldn't you know it, Steve left town for a week earlier today. I'm REALLY hoping the weatherman is wrong with his forecast! Soooooooo.... it is in no way looking like Spring here! LOL!

Dee, I like my shoes, I think they are still ugly, but they are more comfortable then the other shoes I was wearing for work. Mine are black, I would love a clear pair, but have never seen them. Steves cousin is a nurse and wears the crocs. She cautions to make sure and stop wearing them when the bottom tread wears down. She said they get very slippery on surfaces and it is almost like walking on ice.
No big plans for Spring break. I will be working some of the days so Allison is going to get to spend time with both Grandmothers if the weather holds out. Otherwise it will just be with one Grandma. We need to work on a few things like CLEANING her room, etc. She is quite the little "clutterbug"! She loves "collections" and has several of them!

Suzy, YOU CAN DO IT! I'm sure Travis will still be totally surprised if you don't meet goal, but I know you have it in you to meet your goal before he arrives back home. You should be very proud of yourself!

Dee ~ I'm sure that you're right...it's emotional eating and I need to stop it!
(The Irish in our family goes way back to great great great great grandparents, but we're still Irish )

Gayle ~ Thanks! I just have to get myself out of this blah mood and get moving instead of eating the rest of the pumpkin spice muffins that I made last night! They may be fat free, but they sure aren't calorie free!

You all know about my mom's health condition??? Guess who I caught shoveling snow today???? My 79.5 year old mother ended up getting a serious talking to! I told her shoveling snow can cause heart attacks. She informed me, she already had one so she should be ok!! LOL!

Gayle-Give mom a swat on the bottom from me!

I didn't even know about spring. It has been in the 80's here for quite sometime.

Dee-I never eat nuts. I can't just eat a handful. They are one of my red light foods.

Suzy-You can do it! When Travis comes home and see a hot looking mom, it will all be worth it! How long is he staying?

Janice-I haven't even called the dr. I made my "yearly" appt. for April 10. I'm thinking I'd better call though. The bleeding still hasn't let up at all.

Cheryl-I agree with Dee. Thank you so much for all you are doing for the board while Sherry is on hiatus.

Gayle I can't beleive your Mom. She sure has a good attitude. Now I know where your naughtiness comes from.
Thanks for the info on Crocs getting slippery. That is the last thing that I need. For me having a pair of light shoes makes a difference in my life. I can pick my feet up high enough and stumble less. Don't you think that if they made clear Crocs then your colored socks would show or your feet. I think that would look funny.
Dez had many collections grow up. She still is a clutterbug. You should see her apartment! Good luck to Allison and you sorting through the collections.

Shelley I would love it if it was 80 here. I was just telling Larry that if he would shovel off the snow off the deck I could sit in the sun and pretend it is warm out. lol
I keep my nuts in the freezer, maybe you could make small baggies of nuts and freeze them too. Or just buy a small bag.
You better get to the doctor. I don't think that you should bleed that heavy and for so long.

Suzy how about you set up a goal for this week? You could plan on walking every second day. I find when I journal it makes me accountable for what I am eatting. I end up thinking about my food choices and making wiser choices.
Everything will be ok, trust in God. Travis is just as excited as you are, I am sure. Hang in there.

Today I went to my cranky cardiologist. He didn't have much new to say. He has no time for questions and can be quite rude. I just need to keep increasing my meds til my heart rate doesn't go past 175 or until I get to dizzy or tired. After my meds are at the right strength I will need a halter monitor for the day to see how my heart is doing.

I wanted to go to ww's to get weighed in today. I looked everywhere to find my membership weigh in chart. No luck. It would have been so convenient to go the dr's office was only blocks away from the main office. Now I will have to walk 6 miles on icey and wet sidewalks. That sucks!
Today will be a long day. Larry is working late this evening. Life is so boring at home and I don't have the energy to do the things I love to do.

Hmmm...Dee, I never thought about the socks showing through!!!! Around here, during the summer months, people are wearing them with no socks. I just thought they would look kinda cool clear, without being a funky color. I wear socks with mine, I'm not sure how I will like them this summer without the sockies though. BORED???? You should come to my house! I pray for boredom! It seems like we always have 50 zillion things going on. I hope they get your heart meds figured out. YES! My mother is VERY SPUNKY! That is part of why she survived last Winter. Most people (including myself) could of never made it through what she did.

Shelley, I think you better go to the doctor too. Sounds like it could be something else besides hormones. Best to have it checked. Are you taking extra iron since you are having so much blood loss?? It might not hurt if you eat more iron rich foods or take a vitamin. Enough of my lecture now! Take care sweetie!

Gayle and Dee-I haven't even seen people wearing crocs with socks. Everyone here wears them on bare feet. I still think they are ugly. Don't they feel slimey on your feet?

I call Dr yesterday. They said no big deal. Okay, I guess no big deal then. I still feel like something might be wrong, but I'll wait until my April appointment.

It was 85 here yesterday and I need to start getting myself acclimated back to the major sweating with running. Wish I could bottle it and send it up to you girls!

We have snow on the ground here Shelley with more predicted today. Even if you can't get into the doctor any sooner, I think you still need to up your iron a bit if you can. Are you feeling tired or worn out?
People wear the crocs here with socks during the cooler weather then bare footed during the summer months. I think part of the reason I think they are ugly is some of the people do not even try to match the socks/clothing to the shoe color! I have seen someone wearing a green outfit with bright orange crocs! Or they will be dressed ok with shoes matching somewhat, but then have on bright, striped socks or something! That is why I went with the basic, boring black shoe. I don't know if I will like them during warmer weather, I'm like you, I think the material they are made of would cause your foot to sweat. Gross, huh?

Dee, why did you have to be so nice and share some of your snow? I'm packing it up and sending it back to you!

Girls, for those of you that wear the Bare Escentuals Mineral makeup: I found a site/lady who has her own business making mineral makeup and selling it. She has a forum on her site and people are switching over to hers and loving it. She also has a guide to help you pick the correct shade compared to what you are wearing now of BE. I ordered a foundation and her version of the minerial veil, I will let you know what I think after I receive it.

Off to work I go! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

♥ P.S. Going to try to stay OP all day today!

Good morning everyone!

It's snowing here this morning and there is snow in the forecast for the next 4 days...it is spring isn't it?

Gayle ~ Your mom sounds like my husband's aunt! She's 91 and still lives alone in her own home. She is independent to a fault and hates to ask anyone for help.

Dee ~ I set goals and had a food journal when I first started. It is probably a good idea to "start over" just to reinforce the good habits again. Today is a good day to begin. Yesterday was our anniversary so we went out to dinner last night and stopped for ice cream on the way home besides.

Shelley ~ I'm glad that you checked with your doctor and if he's not concerned then it probably is ok to wait until April for your checkup, but I would call back if it continues on much longer or gets worse.

Please send some of those 80's north...we're all freezing up here!

Gayle YES I am happy that you are going to be on program all day. Way to get motivated again!
I wear my crocs as house shoes instead of slippers. I seldom wear socks. In PV I never wore socks and my feet only sweated a few times, but like they say your feet won't stink. I only mentioned the socks with clear crocs because I figured at work you would need to wear them. I agree that with flashy colors crocs you need to match your outfit and socks. Yuck. I do.
You can keep the snow I sent you , I don't mind. lol Besides that your snow will be long gone before mine.
Thank goodness for the spunk in your Mom. It sounds like you take after her too. How is Steve coping?

Shelley when my feet get to hot in my crocs I just slide my foot out. I don't wear the back straps unless I am walking outside with them, it just makes it easier to take on and off for me that way.
I am glad that you called the doctor. I wouldn't hesitate to call again at the beginning of next week if you are still bleeding heavy. Gayle is right maybe you should think about a iron supplement or eat alot of spinach with citrus.
You can send some of that warm weather up here. I would love it. When your jogging think snow!
Last night after Larry got home he shoveled a path through the snow around the house to our deck. Then he cleared the snow off the deck and put our swing cover on so that I can have a little seista in the sun with my blankie.
Isn't that sweet? The sun is warm but out temps in the afternoon are hovering around freezing.

Suzy, Happy Anniversary! How many years are you celebrating? Did you have a nice dinner out?
Ok now that is over back to business, get that journal out. You can do it. You have done great so far, you don't want to sabatoge all that hard work.
Snow for the next four days, that sucks! Do you have much on the ground?

Last night Dez came over to keep me company. She was just pumped. She went to training yesterday for her new part time job. She will be working for the goverment at the Casino. The benifits are awesome. She can even get some schooling paid for. She is very excited. She said she always wanted to work for a corporation that had room for growth and offered their employees incentives. She will need to take two buses to get to and from work. I hope that she will manage ok with that. She is use to walking a block to work for all the jobs that she has had.
Time to put my biscuits in the oven for lunch. Yesterday I made some broccoli and cheese soup and biscuits for supper for Dez and I. Now to warm up some soup for Larry and I and cook some fresh biscuits. Yummy.

I wear my Crocs with socks and with the back strap.

I just got back from a brief, two-day Branson trip. The weather was absolutely AWFUL the whole time we were there--rainy and cold. One night there was actually a few claps of thunder and then it hailed about a quarter inch. Tiny little pieces. Whew!!

No prob keeping the board going! I love doing it!

I *may* be investing in a pregnancy test for myself if Auntie Flo doesn't come around before the end of this week. You girls pray for me!!!! I do NOT want a baby until I get all this mess with Stewart straightened out and figure out where we are with each other.

Love you all--
c
