Thumbs up Vegas Trip

Hiya ladies,

Since the other Vegas thread was mostly planning, I thought we'd need a new one to chat about the trip. Have any of you seen the commercial for Poligrip that says you can get a free airline companion ticket with 5 proofs of purchase, up to a value of $500.00? Although I googled it, I can't seem to get specific info. No, I don't use Poligrip, but would buy 5 boxes for a free airline ticket to Vegas, lol. Then I could donate the product to the local Senior Center. When I go to Walmart in a day or 2, I'll check it out on the boxes.

Cristi - I LOVE your Vegas ticker, and may just get one, too!

Here's a link to the hotel: http://www.vegas.com/resorts/flamingo/

Thumbs up

Jane~I haven't seen the commercial but I agree...it would be worth buying the boxes to get a ticket. I haven't checked into airline tickets yet. Still undecided about whether I want to drive or fly. Thinking I want to drive and stop in AZ to visit my friend on the way to Vegas or on the way back home and do other stuff. So I don't know yet. Decisons, decisons! I thought the ticker was a cute idea! And it changes each day. Wasn't sure when I did it how it worked, if I was going to have to change it or if it did it automatically. That would be too much counting/figuring on my part Good idea about the new thread to talk about the trip!

Cristi - it would be really fun for you to visit friends on your way to/from Vegas. I used to use a ticker over on the Disney thread to count down our trips to Disney World.

Angie - do you think Becky's coming with you?

About the hotel, I didn't realize it was so nice! Sometimes after the peace and quiet of the country, I need a little hustle and bustle, lol.

I found out about the Poligrip stuff. Yes, it's legit, but you have to buy the first ticket from them, and the price depends on where you're leaving from and where you're going. Not sure if it would be worth it, but will check into it. www.poligrip.com is the url.

Later, ladies!

Jane -
David found the polident offer and is looking into details, I guess the regular price ticket is kind of steep, but still could be worth it. I could use the denture cleaner on my retainer

Southwest Airlines has really good deals on fares, but only book four months out. David and I are going to book the Flamingo tonight and will be looking into airfare as the next few months progress. I'm getting excited. I have a points visa card and it has a concierge feature. We're going to see if they can get us Avenue Q tickets and use my points to defray the cost.

MIL says we are not to miss the nighttime displays at Treasure Island and Bellagio.

fun fun fun

www.polident.com - I noticed it's different from your URL, Jane, but I 'm pretty sure we're talking about the same offer.

Katy- since we have to pay tax and fees either way, the ticket would still be a lot cheaper for us using the poligrip/polident offer, even including the price of the poligrip and the $9.95 handling fee. Right now, the flight fee from Evansville to Vegas is running around $350.00 compared to $400.00 ish from them. I forget the exact amount. My sister said the same thing about the nighttime show at Bellagios, so it must be really spectacular. Like you, I'm really excited about the whole trip and I can't believe the Jaded Ladies are really going to do this.

The fountain show at Bellagio is great and the conservatory in there always has a beautiful display. The Mirage has a volcano that erupts, and I haven't seen the new show at Treasure Island although the old show was neat. Now it has more showgirls in it I guess. The Venitian has gondola rides through the casino. Lots of neat things.

Right now we are getting Southwest for $158.40 each round trip.(from Indianapolis) You are right that they only book a few months out. Right now they are booking till March 31. Their best rates are Tues., Wed., and Sat. Since we are flexible we can play with the dates though as others can't always do.

We're booked! For the Flamingo, at least...DH is looking into the polident offer, but we'll most likely wait and book with Southwest...

Thanks for the info Sue. Are you going to be there when the rest of us are? I know that's not your normal "Vegas" time.

Angie - I think it's going to be hard to decide what to do, lol. Glad Becky will probably come with you. We'll make a Jaded Lady out of her yet, lol.

Katy - my sister says ATA is cheaper, too. Might save the coupons for a different trip. Glad you're signed up a the Flamingo.

Anyone thinking anymore about the trip/get-together? I am so looking forward to it and I definitely will be driving. Plan on taking my time and either visiting my friend to or fro, and maybe will even go to CA! Anyway, was thinking if anyone has given much thought to what we will be doing? I will be down there for 4 days and don't want to end up doing something if you ladies plan on doing it together. Anyway, just curious as to what everyone has in mind for the trip.

Susan, Angie have you ladies booked yet? Angie is your friend going to come along? Anyone else booked? I know some said they have to wait...I do hope everyone gets to go!

Cristi - I'm really looking forward to it, too. Good idea to visit your friends en route. That way you don't have to fly, and have more freedom, too. I'm up for doing whatever the group wants, within reason, lol. Not too crazy about hanging outdoors, though, that time of year in Vegas.

Angie - would you be willing to forgo the blue hair dye for some eyebrow wax? I need someone to shape my eyebrows for me so I can keep them up, and I think you're just the person to do it. Just don't make me look permanently surprised, lol.

To those of you who've been to Vegas, what sights do we not want to miss?
