  • Hey everyone!

I started my Christmas shopping this week-end! I am in the spirit like I never have been before--don't know WHAT is wrong with me! I think it's because marriage is eminent (I'm gonna have my "own" little family to shop for!)

At Target I hit the $1 rack and got a TON of great stuff. I got 4 cookbooks for each of my sisters, my sis-in-law and soon-to-be sis-in-law. I also got several $1 DVD's for my mom and dad--I'm gonna get them a DVD player for Christmas and they'll need something to watch!

I got mom a ton of lotion/spray from Victoria's Secret. She'll wind up getting that before Christmas.

I went to Hobby Lobby and they had just put a bunch of yarn on clearence! I got $80-worth!!!!! Dang, now I've GOT to knit something!

    I lost 2 more pounds--yea!

Hope you all are doing well!
  • Cheryl your the shopper of the week. Those are great deals. Congratulations on the weight losted.

Gayle are you all tired out and can't post today.

Sherry I am glad that you see that you can make a magical christmas without money. Christmas is love.

The angels started to fight today. It started snowing about an hour ago. Fluffy lafge flakes are coming down. Looks like christmas.

Hope that you are all having a good day.
  • Hello??????? Heck...Where is everyone?????? I bet you're getting the turkey ready!

Cheryl....I'm so jealous that you and others have already started the Christmas shopping!! WTG on another 2 lbs! You go girl!!!!!!!!!

Here's a Thanksgiving poem for all.....

    May your stuffing be tasty
    May your turkey be plump,
    May your potatoes and gravy
    have nary a lump.
    May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
    and may your Thanksgiving dinner
    stay off your thighs!
  • Dee....We were posting at the same time! I bet the snow looks beautiful with your house all decorated too!! Oh my gosh I wish I were there to see it. I love snow!!!!!!!!!
  • Dee: I almost wish there were snow here. Maybe then I would get in the Christmas spirit. Ba humbug...

I haven't bought the first present yet... Oh my... I am like you Sherry. Not much cash at all and I can't figure out how to deal with it, so I haven't been doing any thing. What a cop out huh??

Sherry: Your Christmas sounds absolutely wonderful to me.. Just being together is all you need to have a great Christmas. I loved your poem. Sounds just about right!!

Cheryl: WTG on the 2 lb loss.... Keep it up girl!! WTG on the shopping too. Your definately a bargain queen.

I go to the arthritis Dr. in the morning. I sure hope she can help me, but I don't know what is left for me to try. We shall see.

Guess what. I am thinking about trading in my car for a van. What kind of vehicles do you gals own?
  • Carol, I drive a 1993 Mercury Cougar, gets me where I need to go. Steve drives a 2004 Venture van through the company he works for. Good luck!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted...still trying to recover from the past week. The craft show bordered between ok and crappy, I'm offically hanging up my hat as a craft show groupie. Sales use to be great, but now everyone can just get on the internet and order stuff. I made enough to pay my booth space, expenses and had enough left over to help with Christmas, like I said, not fantastic, but the money will help out.
It was kinda funny though...I could of sold skin care products! I had three ladies (at separate times) comment about my skin. One lady even asked if I sold products. Weird, huh??? Ramona, the BE must be doing something!

I am about 1/2 way done with Christmas shopping. It is really hard here because both girls have birthdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have been trying to buy here and there or if I find something and don't have enough moola, I put it on lay-away. I haven't started shopping for Steve yet. Did we just decide to do a card exchange here???

Cheryl, you are my kind of shopper! I love bargains!!! WOW! A dollar sale at Target? YOU GO GIRL! What do you like to knit? GREAT JOB ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!

Dee, you keep those silly angels there playing in the snow! We have snow predicted for tonight...so far it's clear and I REALLY hope it stays that way! Have I told you, I can't stand snow???? It's cold, wet and cold...I will take sunshine anyday!

Sher, any news about Drew's legs yet?

I may not be posting daily until after Thanksgiving, I have alot going on, plus I'm not in the best of moods, I hate to bring you guys down too.
  • Gayle if you look before thanksgiving you get to posting. We are here for you. I need you. You are my support when I am down and I am getting scared about this surgery. If I post when I am down you can too. We all said the same to Sherry. What's up? It wasn't long ago that Shelley was having some problems. Carol is dealing with a lot of pain from her arthritis. Debbie has a healing hubby. We all have problems, your friends are here for you if you want to share. You know my email addie too. I wish that your sales would have been higher at the craft sale. Don't be discouraged with your work. You are very creative and do awesome work.

Carol I am glad that you are seeing a specialist. I hope that there is something else that can be done. I will ship you all the snow that we get. Problem is now it rainned first and we have ice underneath. Time for you to get shopping. There are lots of ways to deal with christmas even when you don't have a lot of cash. Maybe everyone could suggest a few ideas to help the ones out struggling.

Sherry I am glad that you posted. I am like Gayle, I really don't care for the snow. We are garenteed to get snow so the longer that it doesn't come the better. Cute poem. What are Drew's results?

Cheryl go Cheryl go! You weight is just spiraling down. That is wonderful.
  • Dee-When is your surgery? Please know that I am here for you if you need any help.

Gayle-I know you must be very busy. I'm sure that the only reason you didn't sell everything was because nobody was. So many people are last minute shoppers. I wish you had a show closer to Christmas or after Thanksgiving. Your things are so lovely and you have such talent.

  • I'm ok girls, just down in the dumps... thank you for your well wishes and complements about my painting. Almost everyone that came into my booth made a comment about my art work, saying how gorgeous it was...then they turned around and walked out! Oh well, I guess now I truly understand the expression of a starving artist!

Here is a recipe if you guys want it:

    Bread dough ornaments

    4 cup flour
    1 cup salt
    1.5 cup hot water
    2t. vegetable oil

The oil makes the dough easier to work with. Cut out shapes just like making sugar cookies. Bake 200* for ???? (until hard) or I also read where you could microwave for 2 minutes on a safe plate. Seal with Primer, then paint or decorate. When completed, seal with a clear varnish on all sides. I'm thinking I may make personalized ornaments for Allison's kindergarten class.
  • Received this from Ramona:

Gayle, please tell everyone I'm sorry for not posting. I took a nasty fall on some wet tile and busted my knee cap and hurt my back again. I'm crawling back in bed now, but wanted to touch base.

    Love you,
    Ramona

Ramona, please make a speedy recovery! Let us know if there is anything we can do. LOVE YOU!!!!
  • Gayle did Ramona really bust her knee cap or just hurt it? Poor thing, I hope that she has a speedy recovery. I liked your gift list. Good ideas. Do you think maybe your paintings are to good for a craft show and that you might be going after the wrong market? Do you have a local art gallery close by?

Shelley I have my back surgery on monday Dec 6th, less than 2 weeks. Thank you for being there. Las Vegas will be a good distraction from me thinking of my surgery. I am terrified to go under the knife again. We leave for Vegas friday afternoon.

The weather is cool out but now that we have snow that is staying it puts me at risk because it rainned first and it is very slippery. My girlfriend called and said there is no way that she is going to let me walk this morning. She is on her way down right now for coffee.

Hope that you all have a Merry day.
  • Ramona-Please get well soon!
