QOTD - none for me please. I'm a Coke in the Morning type girl.

OK - I REALLY need to get off here now - the kids keep asking "When are we starting, when are we starting?" I didn't tell them that the county schools are out again today - if I did, they wouldn't want to do their schoolwork!!

Good Morning Deana, Spryng, Penny, Emily, Crystal... and everyone else! Thank you all for the warm welcome! Today is gonna be stormy, windy, and rainy. Hopefully all of this stuff will be moved out by the weekend. My son is feeling pretty rotten today. He has some kind of little blister inside of his mouth that is making it painful for him to eat. I picked up this stuff his doc called in called "Magic Mouthwash", but it doesn't really help much. Dh is off work today so he could go to a doc appointment. He'll be home later on and will probably rob me from my computer for the rest of the day. LOL Funny you should have a question about disliking animals. We had to get rid of one of our dogs last month. He kept getting loose and going to our neighbors house and killing their chickens! When I went after him the last time he was growling and snapping at me!!! He had never done that before and I wasn't about to take the chance of him getting around my son, so I had to call the Animal Control. I know that was bad, but I kept having awful thoughts of him getting loose and biting someone. Now we only have one dog, and she's very old... but atleast she doesn't bite or growl. Well, I guess I"ll get off here, my son is trying to force feed me fruit snacks that he can't eat and I have a mountain of laundry to tackle. Take care everyone!

Default Morning Chicks!

I didn't lose power yesterday at all...I just lost steam and went to bed early!!!So I didn't even get my last bottle of water in, dang it!! But I did very well anyway! Christian is drinking better, but only milk and his doc said that was just fine, as long as he is drinking something at this point. He doesn't like sweet drinks much at all, which most of the time is a great thing! He is laying around watching tv not complaining a bit. Yesterday he was jumping on the bed and I almost had a heart attack!! He wants to do what the other kids are doing so badly... not that they were jumping on the bed, just running and playing around. It's going to be a long week or so, we can't even go to church this weekend. Maybe dh will take the rest of the kiddos.

Yes Deana...I did get him jello and he ate a little, but not much.

I am getting ready to go have my biopsy/sonohysterogram thingy done, no one has called to cancel yet, so I will plan on going and call them before I drive an hour to get there. Thank goodness the boys are out of school, I don't have to find Christian a babysitter! I am trying to get things done around here so I can relax if I am in pain when I get back, so I will be off for a while, I think! I always say that, and still come back to check up on you all!

AMY.. I am cindi mom to 7 kids, you will love these ladies!!

Emily...Alot of people from our church, including our Pastor live in Temple. Our church is in Villa Rica, though. My kids are 18,17,14,9,5,4, and 2. My dd is the 4 yo the rest are boys!! I SOOO agree with you, girls are something else!! God only gave me one girl and now I know why!! I never thought they'd be moody and hormonal from birth!!

To the rest of you...Day 2 of that water challenge is underway...1 down, 5 to go!!!! I will slow down before the appointment, don't need to have to pee during something like that! I will feel enough discomfort as it is!! LOL!!

OH!!! I was 2 lbs down on my weigh in today...but still not back to my lowest weight since beginning this journey, so it doesn't really count to me, but anyway. 2 is good!!! I hope it continues, all this stress is making me eat more!

LAter Taters!

Love to all!!

Kristin, Andrew isn't usually too crabby after sleeping like that. Depending on how early he wakes up in the morning depends on one or two naps a day. I prefer one nap because it's easier to get him to sleep at night. He didn't wake up until 815 this morning, first time ever I think, so he'll take a nap after lunch for about 2 hours and that will be it.
I've learned to deal with it and handle it and try to get a nap myself, but we have to school while he naps so I don't usually get one. But we've got about 7 more school days before we take a fall break, 2 or 3 weeks. Can't wait for that, I'll nap like crazy then.
Back from running errands already. Post office, cleaners and mom's. Haven't heard from dh yet but expect to soon. I'll let you all know. TTYL

Ok we're back from the doctors office. Abby did so well getting her shot that the nurse gave her a sucker, a candy and she got a sticker. Oh and the cool Hello Kitty bandaid. She didn't cry, winced a little and didn't squeeze daddy's fingers too bad.

Jill: You're on the West Coast honey. What are you doing up so early?

Spryng: ok ok now I know not to talk about you when I think you're gone.....LOL Thank you for the compliment on the pics. It's hard to believe the only 2 that are full blooded siblings are the middle 2 boys. They don't look much alike. But would you believe people used to ask if they were twins because they are only 15 months apart.....sheesh. And I had a friend call me one day when Matthew was about 6 months old and tell me that someone they saw in town had seen us and asked if Matthew was half white half black. He is darker skinned but that is the Indian from my dad's side. Every male in the family for the last 4 generations has been. My brother is soooo dark and with his little moustache looks Mexican. WTG on that half pound, keep doing it girl.

Amy: Nice to see you again. Glad no one scared you off.....LOL. Hope the weather straightens up soon for you gals.

Geri: WTG on those 2 pounds. Get back to eating right or I'll have to come to WI to get you. It's not that far you know.

Cindi: So glad Christian is doing better today. Hope your biopsy goes well and you're aren't in too much discomfort to come talk to us. WTG on the 2 pounds. Keep it up. Even though I'll be running all day, I'm up for a water challenge today. I need it after eating bad yesterday. I have a 16 ounce bottle I drink from all the time. Working on the first. Let's do it girls.

Kristin: 10 am and you're still in your pj's??? Must be nice. Hope you get everything done and have a nice lunch date with your friends. And yes the virtual slumber party was a blast. It's Friday but I still have to get up early tomorrow to take the kids to the fair. So not sure how long I will last tonight. Only got 5 hours last night....minus 4 trips to the bathroom.

Dd is telling me she is ready for lunch, and then off to school and errands. I may go get a new keyboard today. I hate this one. The space bar sticks and it takes me so long to type because I have to keep going back to put in the spaces....GRRRRR!!! Walmart has a nice black one for about $15 that goes with my black Dell and dh already told me to go get it. So I probably will after I drop off dd at school.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Will check in later.

Hello to anyone I missed.

Good mornin/afternoon. It's 11:09, but by the time I finish this it will probably be noon

Deana- Oh, I'm waiting to see what your husband's company says. Must be a hard time for you guys - I know DH's job is safe, but still must be stressful with all the company changes Also, sounds like you and DH are hound people too DH and I love hounds . . . bassets, beagles, etc. Anyway, Liam gets his chicken pox shot next month, so let me know how DS does.

Geri- poor Tony!! Hope he wasn't too traumatized. That's awful.

Amy- welcome! I'm Leigh, SAHM mother to an almost 11 month old boy named Liam. I'm attempting to do Weight Watchers, but have been off plan for a few weeks. This is a great group of women and they are very supportive. I look forward to getting to know you better. Hope DS feels better today.

Crystal- oh, today's the big day for DH. Definitely keep us posted on all that. Yeah, I'm hoping Jeanne goes off into the Atlantic, but I have a feeling she's heading for North or South Carolina

Good morning, Penny- whatcha doin' today???

Spryng- on getting your weight back down so quickly. You must be working hard! Good for you. I say the same thing every year too (about needing storm supplies), but I think I'm actually going to follow through this time.

Jill- so the dogs don't entertain one another enough? I always wonder how having two would be, but I think my hands are full enough with Liam and Duncan.

Emily- yes, I'm definitely thinking of putting together an emergency supply box so everything is together in one place. That's neat about your parents being across the street!

Cindi- glad you didn't lose power! I'm thinking of you today. Post later to let us know how it goes.

Kristin- !!!! OMG, you're just like me. I was just thinking about how I have to explain to DH that all our recent charges are things I'm buying for Liam's birthday LOL. But I often have tiny shopping sprees while he's gone. I think of it as his out-of-town tax LOL. Hey, I need SOMETHING to entertain me while he's gone! Stroller blanket should arrive any day. Can't wait to see it in person.

QOTD 1: oh I love coffee! Must have it, but ususally only one cup in the a.m. Cream and sugar for me

I think I also ask one QOTD today, so here is mine.
QOTD: How did you decide, or how WILL you decide whether or not to have more than one child?

Good morning everyone.
Welcome Amy and Emily. I am Ricci (pronounced Ricki) SAHM to Eric,6 and RJ 4. I am going to school at night to become a cosmotologist. I am not on here as much as I used to be. Tryin to fix that.
Hi everyone. I have to go back and catch up on the posts. I hope all of you affected by IVAN are doing well. Sounds like everyone is doing good. We are going to start looking at houses this weekend. So tired of this fricken apartment. School is going good. It's hard learing something new, but after doing it a few times, its not bad at all.
Sorry not to get personal right now. I am going to go post a picture of Eric in the limo he got to ride in on Tuesday. I will be on here more this weekend. Have a great day.

QOTD: We still aren't sure whether or not we'll have more than one baby. I think it's such a complex decision, with so many considerations. I think a lot about how my relationship with Liam might change with the addition of a sibling. I also think about pre-eclampsia thing and how I really don't think I want to go through that again. On the other hand, it all goes so quickly and I can't believe Liam's soon going to be one. So, these are all things we're still weighing. Guess I have some time left to decide LOL.

Also- photobucket is down right now, so can't post my pic of Duncan until later

Default Friday, Friday...

Hey yall--hope you are looking forward to a good weekend. =)

Who's doing the water challenge today? I'll join ya.

Leigh--I in no way thought you were being judgemental. I was completely agreeing with you about why they didn't evacuate, I was saying it was still sad, but (I was thinking in my head and obviously it did carry over via my post) that they had made a poor choice in not leaving first. SO glad your hubby will be home tomorrow and that yall weren't without power for long. I too need to get together an emergency box. I used to be uber prepared LOL I had what I deemed the van box and it was full of changes of clothes, toiletries etc basically it would have had us prepped for a overnight stay somewhere. But since moving to TX I haven't restocked and don't even keep it in the van lately.

Spryng-too cool that you are back within 1/5 lb ...you are right it will come off too and you'll be right back to reaching your next personal goal. You are such a great inspiration.

Geri--is the nurse still alive? Just wondering, cause I would have had to beat her about the head and body.

Crystal--hope DH does well with his surgery. I'm going to order the BOB books off amazon...I want several of the sets. We'll use those for daily reading 'practice' after 100 EL is done. The Rod and Staff, I like their readers for the simplicity of them...I'm not sure that I'll do any of their other stuff, althogh I do get their catalog.

Emily--Yes, my family all still live in that area. My parents live in Newnan, where my dad pastors a church. My grandparents live in Sandhill (know where that is?...between carrollton and villa rica) oldest brother lives in Bremen (he's a UPS driver and delievers temple I'm thinking...I'll have to confirm ) my other brother lives in Fairfield Plantation and works for Delta. And various aunts and uncles all live in and around Carrollton.

And why is it I can never remember everyone???? I'm goign to start getting paper and pen and writing it all down.

So HELLO and HAPPY FRIDAY to everyone.

Now for the QOTD.

Coffee...in a word YES. YES YES YES YES. I'm pretty far from a coffee snob though...lol, I drink foldgers here at home with sugar free french vanilla creamer and sometimes s/f french vanilla syrup. I never ever never would drink a cup of black coffee. My hubby drinks black coffee and thats just gross. Heh I love convienience store cappichino (which should really confirm the fact that I'm far from a coffee snob) I do like starbucks...but honestly the fact I'm paying $5 for my coffee tends to effect the taste ROTFLOL I mean it better taste better than my foldgers if I'm paying $5 a cup, right?

Pets--none currently. We had a dog in GA, his name is Kudzu and he now lives with my parents where he is fat and happy. I adopted him from the shelter when we were stationed in Kansas. He is a lab/shep mix and is honestly the best dog ever. But when we left our house and yard and moved to the apt, my parents agreed to keep him since he would have more room and such. I miss him. He's a sweetie.

Baby Names--We use a biblical name and honor someone in our family. So Nathan Dayne is from the old testament prophet Nathan and my husband is Danish so Dayne...meaning ''of the danes''. Daniel Asbury is from the old testament too, Daniel, and Asbury is my paternal great granddaddy's middle name...he was Charile Asbury. Elijah Erik ...again from the old testament Elijah and Eric is Donald's middle name but we wanted to use the more traditional Danish spelling and so we went with the EriK spelling. For a girl I always liked Rebekah or Lillian Esther (Lily...Lillian was my paternal grandmothers name...esther or rebekah from the bible.

Ok...handwriting is done and today is art day. We are making quilt squares and i'm going to frame Nathan's Oh and "The Rag Coat" by Leslie Miller is a wonderful book...very heart touching and has a beautiful message of friendship and forvigness.

I'll check in later with my water report and I promise to get personal.

Leigh: yes dh is sure his job is secure and the layoffs are bad, and the only thing we may have to adjust is the schedule. If he gets put on 3-11:30 he'll leave here at 2:30 instead of 6:30 and won't see the boys all week long. He would get home at almost midnight. And the 3 days a week that dd goes to preschool he would be able to take her but then wouldn't see her til the next day. My reason for mot wanting himt o get that shift is that I would be home with all the kids, every night and bedtime can be horrible if he's not here to stand over them. We're really hoping he gets the 11-7:30 shift because then he would still sleep most of the day and not leave til 10:30 at night, after the kids are asleep.... that would be heaven for me. Hope he finds out more tonight when he goes in. He will call me on his break around 9:30 so maybe I will know by chat time.....So far dd is doing jsut fine with her shot. I am actually against giving it to them because I wanted them to get it naturally. I worry about the possibility of her getting it from the shot, which I ahve heard can be a worse breakout. We will see. None of the boys ever had it, but they started school before it was law that they have to have it.

Leigh's QOTD: I think I'm a little past this one. I'll let those with one answer it..... .

Have to get ready to take dd to school then I'm off to Walmart and to drop off some donation to the Thrift Shop and look for some more painting shirts to give to preschool. I have 6 I am sending today but they could always use more. I buy the for like a dime and too big for the kids, then they can just put them on backward and roll up the sleeves.

Be back later.
