Smile Chit Chat #76

Welcome to the Jaded Ladies!

We are a friendly group that shares all the daily aspects of our lives with each other... not just weight loss. Won't you join us?

Well, ladies, I didn't make note of who said what from the other thread... so you'll have to excuse me for not doing individuals. I got some cute shoes for fall today to wear with jeans, and some black boots, too. All the new Fall stuff out is just too tempting!!

Now I have to get busy and get some housework done before Neal fires me, lol.

I'll try to make chat....

Default Hey All

Well just another day in the neighborhood I guess:

LAURALYNN : WELCOME!!!!!

JEN: Sorry to hear about Kitty, my brother had to put his dog down last
month and it was very upsetting..I dont look forward to the day my
puppy gets there, cause he's my baby and I'd really be lost

MINDEE: The Lean cuisines really arent that bad, I like the Santa Fe Chicken,
I also like a few others, and they really arent that bad...The WW meals
are really flavorful too, I like the Fiesta Chicken. BOXERATE sounds cool
Im still waiting for my FIRM tapes to get in, probably next week!!

JANA: I'll have to try the Lean Cuisine pizza, I Love pizza!!

MARTI: Glad to hear that Jhanai likes school and is making friends..and I
totally hear you on the work thing, I do need to chill out and start
slowing down!!

I've been keeping up with the exercise, I'm actually somewhat obsessed, I
have to workout everyday, or it really bothers me!! I also notice that I have a lot more energy these days too, so I feel alot better!!! Today someone I hadnt seen in a bit, who I dont really know, came up to me and complimented I good I was looking...and it really does help to hear that!!!! Well enough about me...hope all of you are doing well and making healthy choices.....check in later

Checking in a bit to see how you all are doing.

Cristi--I will pray that you never have to experience a tornado while you're living in AR!! I bet your yard is looking lovely!! You should see mine....pathetic really. Everything is dried up and shrivelled. I told James that next year I would love to plant some roses alongside my patio. I see the woman across the way from me watering and tending to her BEAUTIFUL roses all the time and I would love to have some myself. And some other flowers.

Jana--I wish I went shopping with you today!! I went to buy some shoes at Walmart and OMG--the whole store is so messed up! They're in the middle of remodeling and some of the aisles are so close together....you can't fit a cart in between! What are they thinking?? I hope it gets moved. Didn't buy any shoes. I really want to buy some new boots! I bet you look cute in your new clothes!

LauraLynn--When did your kids start back to school? My daughter started Tuesday. And so far she's loving it....except the soccer Being from Oregon.....rain is what I'm used to, but I still don't like to walk in it. My dogs can't stand it! I practically have to push them out to go!

Julie--How nice to have some one compliment you! And it's so true...it really does keep the motivation going and makes you feel so good.

Been watching Oprah lately.....let me tell you, I love her clothes. I would love to have her fashion designer fit me with some of her outfits! They are so stylish and classy. And they fit her figure so nicely. I really need to update my look. Make myself feel more attractive.

Ok....just browsing through....I'm going to check in later to see if anyone will be at chat....what time will that be??

ok as weird as this sounds where I live is on the tip of tornadoe valley too. Over 4 yrs ago we had a horrible one that took many lives not far from here.
Well snow has come to some areas not far from here,,,and teh way it feels outside its not far from coming right here. Tanner had a game tonight whichI have tosay was brutal,,,so cold...my teeth were chattering..a far cry from last week when I broke a sweat breathing.

So we are doing Brandon's dinner out tomorrow, and Saturday after my meeting will have a nice dinner at home. Roast beef, tatters, spag squash, and some other veggies. Ill be making my drumstick dessert,,,
Bought Brandon a cool gift, a wrought iron cd stand shaped like a guitar. And a couple of guitar stands.

I really want a massage for my birthday...I also asked for a bike,,,second hand one that is so I won't feel all that bad if I don't ride it often.

Well I need to get to bed....I have so much to do tomorrow....

Good morning, Ladies!

Let's see who posted since I was here last...

Laura - my Katie says all the boys act like babies ... she's a Senior, lol. Glad to know your sugar level is good. Is your diabetes congenital?

Julie - it's always nice to get a compliment from a friend. Or a perfect stranger, too, lol. There's "NSV" a thread floating around here, and you would be a good one to keep it alive. I like the LC pizzas so much better than WW Smart Ones, but don't eat either one much. Sometimes we buy a "real" pizza and I have 2 slices with a big salad and that takes care of the craving, lol.

Marti - GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!! I'll be thinking of you during your first day in training. Oprah does have some really neat clothes, and a neat budget to buy them with, lol. All that exercise is really paying off for her. Hope your Walmart store cleans up fast so you can check it out! I got my boots and shoes at Walmart- they've got some of the cutest stuff in for Fall!

Angie - Mmmmm Brandon's dinner sounds so good. Is this a mom/son dinner since your birthday is tomorrow? Brandon will surely like his gifts. Hope you get the massage and bike you want.

Cristi - hope your allergies are better. Mine are giving me a terrible time!

Hi Katy, Jen, Shanna, Barb, Mindee, Sue, Susan, Katiecat, Kathy and anyone else I may have missed.

I've got to get the house cleaned today. With having a cold and other stuff (like shopping ) to do, I've let it go too long.

Sorry I missed chat last night, but the family wanted me to watch the new show "Joey" with them. I thought it was really cute, and was partial to the Joey Tribianni character on Friends. How YOU doin'????

Gonna surf for a few and then get busy. I'll check back in later....

Break a Leg Marti!

Jana, actually Brandon's dinner is tonight, and we are going to Tony Roma's steak and rib place...theres got to be some in the states. Then mine is tomorrow,,,Iv always had the fall dinner,,,with every type of veggie on the table,,,which I love,,,mmmm parsnips.

LauraLynn, I am 3 hours away from Edmonton, I used to be closer then about three years ago we moved south 1.5 hrs. I have been to that mall many times,,,its unbelievable. They have a hotel called Fantasy Hotel and you ca choose a theme room,,,we stayed in the Polinesion Room,,,had a waterfall /hot tub in it. The kids have gotswimming in the park for hours,,,it has everything in there,,,its like a beach.
Then the Oilers (hockey) sometimes do warm ups on the rink...pretty cool. They there is an amusement park also. ITs insane how big it is.
I have to do the finishing touches in Tans room, make the dessert for tomorrow, shop for my veggies, clean...arghhh I need another mom...lol
Tanner went out the door this mornng so cranky,,,the football is too much for him and he is exhausted. Am I being too hard ? I refuse to write a note to say why he didnt' finish his homework,,,he was fighting with Brandon about being too loud,,,which he really wasn't.
well better getmyself going

Hi Ladies~

Not much going on-as usual...

Marti~if and when you plant roses I would suggest the carefree ones. Don't have to do much to them at all. We planted some in the front and they were just tiny little bushes and you should see them now-WOW! And I love that the roses just keep blooming and blooming and blooming...from spring to fall. I have feed them twice and watered them a lot in the beginning but once they are established you don't have to water as much. I do maybe once a week. Getting ready to trim them and the bushes are out of control and they line the walk going to the door. Oh, I don't live in AR, I was meaning when I did live there off and on from birth to 18 and then a couple of years later on.My dad couldn't make up his mind where he wanted to live so we were back and forth from AR to CA. The 3 girls were born in AR and the 3 boys in CA. It isn't part of tornado alley but they have their share of tornados. As a matter of fact a couple of years ago, maybe three, can't remember exactly, but one did go through the town my family lives in. Scared the crap out of them but they were fine. No one was hurt (my family), there were people that were hurt and died. My dad had a little damage done to his house, it went straight down the middle of the town and did quite a bit of damage so they were lucky. Good luck with orientation today-breeeeath. I always get nervous to but I know you will be fine.

Jana~feeling a little better but I want to scratch my eyes out! They are itching so bad and watering like crazy. I did get some eyedrops for allergies and it helps for about 5 mns. Hope you get your house clean. I need to get my done but just not feeling up to it. Not like anyone is going to come over anyway. Sounds like you had a great shopping day.

Angie~hope you get all you want for your BD. V got me a gift certificate for a massage for mine and I have yet to use it. Didn't really want one even though I have said I do. What I meant was I would like to go to like a day spa and get the works not to a salon for a few mns. Jeez, I am picky aren't I? LOL We don't have Tony Romas here but I do remember them in CA, they have the best ribs!

Hi to everyone else!

Had to take DS to the doc this morning finally for his finger finally. It is healing fine but he does want a specialist to look at it. I had called the specialist and was told they couldn't see him till end of Oct. so thought I would take him to his primary physician and see what he had to say. He thinks it is okay but just in case...the break is a little close to the tendon and he wants to make sure it is fine. But otherwise it is healing nicely. So they made an appt. with the specialist for next week-same dr that the girl told me "The problem with that is the doc is scheduled till Oct." ummm, okay. Then off to the scrapbook store. I get the majority of my stickers there and needed some to dress up the envelopes for the cards I send. got some Subway for a very early lunch and think I will go to Michaels as soon as I get off the computer. Didn't really find what I was looking for and I know Michaels has some different ones. I guess I just don't want to sit home today. Should be cleaning house but there is always tomorrow. Anyway, take care all.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Thumbs up

I won't be checking in til after breakfast tomorrow... so...

Happy Birthday, Angie!!

Hope you have a wonderful day with your family!!

Marti - how'd things go today? Do you think you'll like it, or is it too soon to tell?

Cristi - good idea to get the finger checked out to the max since this was an on-the-job accident, even if his bonehead boss thinks he isn't liable. I like to shop for the same things you do... I think it would be fun to go shopping with you some day.

Laura - wow, how much fun is it to be in a band? Obviously when you have a CD for sale, I'll buy one. When you get famous, I'll be able to say I knew you when. You're doing great with the diet and exercise! You'll be below the 250 mark before you know it!

Hi to the ones who haven't checked in since I was here last....

Well, I got the house cleaned, and Neal even washed the kitchen windows that I never got done. They are oversized and hard to manage, so I'm thankful he did them. I put out my Fall decorations and it all looks nice.

Two of my sisters are coming out for coffee in the morning, and the 3rd one will be here sometime tomorrow. The 4th lives out of town, so boo hoo, I won't get to see her!

TTFN,

Hello gals....

No time for individuals today but will try to catch up tomorrow. Orientation was LONG! Butt fell asleep! People were friendly, only four girls total (me included) that was there. My position is pretty much the center of everything....who knew? I have more responsibility than I thought (You mean I can't just stand there looking cute?!)

Half a day of orientation Monday, then off to work right afterwards! Parking is a nightmare! I have no idea where I'm going to park on Monday or anytime afterwards...but hey....I'll figure something out.

Met the CEO of the company...used to play the drums for the band "Turtles" anyone hear of them? Does not look the part of someone in a band...but very nice guy!

Ok...dinner is in the oven and I have to go tend to it. You all have a great night and I will check in tomorrow!!

Marti - I have the Turtles' 45 "Happy Together" ... they totally rocked!! (for those too young to remember, a 45 is a 7 inch record with two sides) They were big in the 60's!! Later, a band called Simple Plan covered the song...

Hey Jana.....I don't think the guy was actually part of the band...he just played for them a few times. At least that is how I heard it.....not sure. When I met him....I just couldn't picture it at all! And I LOVE that song!!! I've had 45's too....but only a couple of them.

Ok....back tomorrow...I'm already being hollered at by Jhanai!

Night all!

I took the garbage out Wednesday and got an eye opener! I came back in the house and went to the bathroom. While I was there, I started to brush my hair, then I noticed something crawling up my sweater. It was a bee or a yellow jacket! Since my hubby is allergic to bees, the first thing that popped into my head was not to let Brandon get stung since we don’t know if he is allergic and I wasn’t about to find out. So I scooped it up with my brush and it was still crawling around. So I threw my brush and the bee into our bath tub, and closed the door. I finished my business and then checked to see if the bee was still in there, it was and wasn’t making any attempts to fly away either. So I turned on the hot water and let it run for a little bit. I made sure it was dead and then flushed it down the toilet!

Marti~ You guys are right, we had the right kind of mood for that night. Now……well that is another story. You know I have seen commercials for Windsor Pilates and I have been wanting to try it, but it all looks like it would kill my leg that has the screw in it. Have you seen them? What do you think?

Cristi~ Like I said, that worked for the time being. Who knows what will happen next? Does anyone honestly like their in-laws? I despise my MIL and she contradicts everything I do in caring for Brandon. So needless to say, she was our latest fight. It doesn’t help that I don’t seem to get any support on things from my hubby. But enough about that.

Julie~ I might have to check those out to see how they taste. I might try the Sante Fe chicken one first. I might have to look into getting some of the WW meals for my lunches. Since I usually don’t get to eat much for lunch.

Angie~ snow?? Already??? Holy cow that means that winter is drawing closer! It was colder last night then any of the past nights.

Ladies…..I need some MAJOR motivation! Things have been rocky with my hubby, and I am afraid that I used food as a partial comfort. I am going to finish checking my email and then hop my happy little butt on my exercise bike and do some exercise until I can’t stand it. I have missed the past two days of exercising and I can feel myself going outward in size, rather then in ward. Can I throw this body away and get another one??

Marti~ I think I remember hearing something about the band “turtles” but I don’t remember what I heard and when.
