haha LAURA...yes I will be on one of those scooters. As klutzy as I am, will probably break the other leg. Sounds like the dryer heat is set to high or is set on the steam wrinkle getter outer that just makes the clothes wetter IMO. Good catch on the basket for your bike.

Morning all,
Back from the dead. It seems I may be allergic to something in the tablets the doctor gave me. After 3 days, I was a walking zombie with a constant headache, spots in front of my eyes and a gastric problem that had to be seen and heard to be believed. I seem to remember that I had this same problem some time back with other tablets that a doctor gave me. It was frightening. I'd be in the middle of a conversation and couldn't work out what word to use next. Couldn't remember anything, and was constantly wanting to be sick but couldn't - add to that constipation set in. On the 4th day I gave up on the tablets, walked down to the doctors (couldn't trust myself driving) and gave him an earful of my problems. The crux of the matter was that he was insisting that my blood pressure needed to come down. I have maintained the same blood pressure for years with diet, exercise and the moduretic tablets and said that all I needed was a new repeat of them. When the blood pressure was tested, I was off the scale low. No wonder the world went round when I stood up.
When I presented with all the above, he maintained I had a virus. I knew damn well I didn't because there is a definite progression in this old body of mine when a virus is present. I explained this and then went for a blood test. So...... a day later, my blood pressure has normalised, still a bit low but improving. My headache is gone and my brain feels like it belongs to me again. I can think and reason instead of being a bloody fool. My stomach is not yet back to normal and I am only just now beginning to taste my food again.
I looked up the drug on the net on the day that I realised I had a problem. The only side effect I didn't have was diarrhoea.

I suppose if one looks for the silver lining then I found one. I lost 3kgs or about 6lbs while I was in the world of fog. Maybe I forgot to eat.

Annie - I should have mentioned this earlier. Thank you for my birthday card. It arrived on the same day as Happy said she got hers. I thought it was funny that on card only had to go across a couple of States could take the same length of time as one that went halfway across the world. Beautiful blue birthday cake.
Hope your ankle will allow you to cope until surgery - sure sounds hilarious you getting along on a scooter.

Happy - As above. There's been some drama in the house as well but I was feeling too ill to put a stop to it. Sometimes I think I will invent a job and just go away for a while to get some me time. I don't deal well with adult tantrums.

Laura - The basket on the bike sounds like a great idea. Bit like what I saw in Indonesia on the scooters there. You could just about shift the house contents in one of those baskets.

Ceejay - Sorry to hear of the drama at work. Seems like the workplace is getting worse and worse. There is drama down here as well with the job I am supposed to be starting. What will be, will be except that I have no wish at all to take over the training manager role. I've had enough office politics to last me 6 working lifetimes. I don't want it any more. I'd be happy just to help out and do the job I interviewed for and go home when the day is over.

That's about it. The gut is feeling upset again. I had better go take a gaviscon or something to settle it down. Hope this all ends peacefully soon.

Oh good giggly wiggly....

Royce and Chris both have the stomach flu. R is vomiting and C has it from the other end, neither have both. I will steer clear of that household for a few days. Poor Samantha, unfortunately R has vomited in the bed twice. Laundry galore. Hopefully all will be ok by the weekend. S had to call her babysitting mom's with the news she could not watch kids today unless they wanted to risk the flu. Um all said no thanks.

Michael and Pia and Ps mom who is here from the south of France home, came for dinner last night. Michael is now using a cane as he cannot keep his balance, looks very tired, but voice is strong and with the program. My heart is breaking, stupid me instead of enjoying the moment, I had the underlying sadness going on. The meal was grand. Chicken cordon bleu, augratin potatos (requested by M), broccoli/cauliflower mix, rolls, spinach salad, and turtle brownies with carmel icing, fresh brewed iced tea, water and coffee. It was a sweet night.

SHADDIE...Oh my, meds making you sick, that is such an awful feeling but great once we figure it out. I am sure ODDU kept you company. I hear you on the adult squabbles. I chose not to get involved so that drama does not ruin my joy. With you, kind of hard when the drama is living with you. May cannot get here soon enough, then you will have an entire different type of drama. lol.

Hello to all. Make it a great day/night. Hugs

Shad
Sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well. I have those feeling sometime and chalk it up to my age. Feel better soon.

Annie
I would be staying away from the boys too. Sure don't want you to catch that. Did your brother enjoy his trip to the beach?

Laura
Good find on the basket for your bike and a wise thing to put extra ties on it so would be thieves will have a struggle getting it off. My fit bit doesn't show the exact number of miles or steps when I ride my bike as the odometer on the bikes shows but I'm happy that it counts the steps

Happy
Your pot roast sounded good. Hadn't thought about putting tomatoes in with a pot roast.

-------
Finally a three day week end. I do have to go to Jonesboro to the doctor for my b12 and I'm ready for it. This week at work has been hectic to say the least. My co- worker last night didn't seem to interested in me telling him about the difference in operation last night but at least he didn't throw a temper tantrum. Due to the extra work I've met my step goals this week. Maybe I should keep up with the hourly monitoring. Almost go in my 30 minute exercise goal too. 27 minutes/30 isn't bad. My legs can tell it.
Going to eat lunch with bff in Jonesboro today after my doc's appointment. Then I'm going to do a couple of errands.
Need to get ready for the day.

Morning all. Rainy & sort of muggy here today. It wasn’t raining when I left the house this morning though, so I was able to ride my bike to the train.

Shad – Sorry you had such a bad reaction to the BP drug. Your doctor insisting you have a virus – he needs a slug. When it comes to that, you surely know your body pretty well by now! I’m glad you’re feeling better! Good for you not letting your future employer finagle you into the training manager role when you know you don’t want it!! I hate office politics.

Annie – Maybe you need to practice in advance on one of those scooters. I never used a skateboard or a razor type scooter as a kid, so I'm sure I’d also be a danger to myself and others on a knee scooter. How did your Wednesday report day go with the new whatever it was (sorry, can’t remember)?? Oh gosh, sorry to hear R. & C. are both sick – poor Sissy. Definitely stay away from those germies! Sounds like a nice dinner with your bro and his family.

Ceejay – Enjoy your weekend! I’m sure you’re more than ready for it!! At least you got a lot of steps out of your workweek! Good job on the exercise.

Hellos to the missing/lurking!

==

Nothing much to report. Went out to dinner last night with bf to the new-ish local sports bar for their 50-cent wing night. Sorry, is that food porn? Okay, we each had a side salad too. Better?

I got up and worked out this morning. The BE workout included pecs, triceps, a biceps/quad combo, glutes, and abs. I think the older shows try to squeeze in more routines sometimes.

I need to get on track with my eating, it’s just not good at all and my jeans are tight. The overnight getaway next Saturday always includes an evening gathering in the hotel hot tub and pool – not looking forward to wearing a swimsuit. But I guess if it gives me a bit of motivation for a week, that’s a good thing. And there are also a couple social events coming up next month that I need to keep in mind as motivators.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all,
Just spent most of the morning on the phone with my ISP. Still apart from figuring out what was wrong with my e-mail account, I got to get the de-activated one reactivated (or at least within 24 hours) and the bill explained and the reasons why I can or can't remove programs from my Foxtel (pay tv) account.

I still haven't taken the ODDU for a walk or done the housework for the day but then again, housework is only noticed if it is not done. I can probably get some of it done this afternoon. Dog goes to school tonight so maybe no walk won't do too much harm and he is currently being very good about it.

Happy - thanks for lending me your DH for a couple of hours. He sure tried hard to help, but neither of us figured out that someone deactivated my account - it was possibly me but I can't see how I did it! Glad to hear that your birthday card arrived in time. I was a bit worried about that - good old postal service (in both countries). Hope you have a wonderful day, expect that I will be chatting on here or on e-mail before then tho'.

Annie - hope the kiddies are getting better and that the 'man flu' does not kill off the main man. Poor Samantha. ODDU is never far away when there are humans around. Spoilt dog! I don't know what it is about meds lately but I really don't want anymore ever again, so I better stay healthy I think.

Ceejay - It wasn't age in this case, just the way meds are made these days. There is something in them that causes problems to a lot of people, you only have to google it to see that. How can they say they are holding up the Hypocratic oath when the side effects are as debilitating as those were. Gut is still having some problems but the rest is now okay. Are you counting the days now? You are down to about 3 or 4 months away. Exciting times.

Laura - know the feeling about getting back on track. Biggest problem is, this side of the pond anyway, is that the fruit and veg don't always appeal so much in winter times. Yes I can still grow the stuff I like in the garden but fruit is limited to apples, oranges, mandarins etc. Not exciting and apples are very hit or miss as far as crispness and flavour goes these days.

Okay off for another Gaviscon chewy tablet. My gut is on fire again. Poohbar

Good Morning Chicklets....

Well, Samantha now has the stomach flu, it has been thru Chris, Royce now Sam. Hope Jacob doesn't get it as he has his VERY FIRST EVER baseball game in the morning. Don't want to miss that. 4 year olds playing baseball, that will be a cluster F for sure, but cute and I am sure funny. Crap gotta go, will try to get back here in a bit.

Hugs

Morning all. Happy Friday. Been a quiet week with the boss out on vacay. The admin was out sick yesterday and is out today too. The temperature went down a bit, and today's overcast. I cycled to the train this morning, but downtown here. it's misting and a chilly wind is blowing.

Shad - Ugh re the ISP/email issues. Hope you've reactivated your email and now back in business. Re produce - here you can get pretty much any type you want at any time of year these days, but of course it's not local for much of the year, and then there's the stuff that's never local anyway. Yeh, certain produce items are just a crap shoot - one time they look great and taste great, another time they look great but have no flavor at all. Strawberries, melons, in my experience. Best to try the local items for that reason in hopes they haven't been tinkered with genetically to survive the long transport to the consumer. Looking forward to the beginning of our farmers markets!

Annie - Get well wishes to Royce, Chris, and now Sam. Stay well wishes to Jacob so he doesn't have to miss his first baseball game!!! And if he plays, good luck to him and his team and to you - enjoy watching!

Hellos to the rest of you. Enjoy your weekend.
--

I was having lunch with a work buddy yesterday when we saw the news of Prince's death on the tv screen. Only 57 years old - way too young. Sad thing, he was an extremely talented guy.

Didn't do much of anything last night. Watched a tv show called "Strong" from the creators of The Biggest Loser. A male trainer is paired with a female (I don't know what level of fitness they are to begin with - most looked "average") and the 2-person teams have all sorts of physical challenges in which they compete, and of course there are eliminations, not based on weight loss progress, but on how fast (or not) they complete the obstacles/challenges in the "elimination tower". All the drama of TBL. I think I'll stick with American Ninja Warriors. [Wonder when that comes on again?]

In anticipation (dread?) of wearing a bathing suit next Saturday, I tried on my swimsuits last night. I was very unhappy to discover that my favorite, a basic one piece, somehow had fabric damage down the center of the back. It also looked like the lining came apart from the back seam too. I'm puzzled as to what happened there. There are two other suits I just don’t care for. Then there’s one other I’m fond of, but I knew the elastic was going when I checked it a while back, so you know it’s no better now... But I might just take a chance and wear it one last time. I guess I’ll be buying another swimsuit this year. I think I’d like to buy some swim shorts this time around – made of sturdy NON-CLINGY woven polyester fabric, like what the men’s swim trunks are made out of. And a swim top, of course.

Exercised this morning. The BE I did today worked the pecs, back, hamstrings, glutes, and abs.

Felt bad that I couldn't feed or medicate doggy this morning. He has a vet appointment that includes a blood draw (because he takes anti-inflammatories), so he had to fast.

This morning on the train, I'm not sure why I moved the way I did, but I had an open bottle of liquid foundation in my hand at the time and flung a large quantity onto the chest/shoulder/sleeve of my fleece! Spent a good amount of time after that scrubbing away with napkins and moist wipes. And somehow the foundation soaked through one spot of the fleece to also get on my shirt. Oh well, my only meeting today is a conference call, so I'll be okay.

I heard that Sears is closing a lot of its Kmart stores and some Sears stores. I wonder when the end will finally come for that company. It's been on a downward slide for a long, long time. Sad. I have many memories of shopping at the Sears store, and of their catalogs.

Okay, I've rambled enough. Time to get this posted. TTFN.

I was JUST sitting down at the computer to catch up and the phone rings. No one showed up for the afternoon shift at the thrift shop. We could lose a fair bit of money as it's a nice day out so I'm going to have to go in *hangs head and drags feet... *

I will be back tonight. Been a busy day and a half over here. Later ladies. Haven't even had a chance to catch up on reading here.

Not much going on here, except relaxing and I've needed that. Called my uncle a few minutes ago to see if perhaps they would be eating tomorrow cause it's his birthday. He was going to call the others to see. I'm sure they will but will call back in the morning to double check.
Yesterday's doctor's office visit was okay. Told him about my problem and made double sure that I had called the gynecologist. He changed my fluid med also. The other one was causing my legs to have hard cramps that left my leg and foot numb. I actually had to use a theragesic rub on it and could barely walk on it. It was painful and still sore. He pulled blood to check my potassium level and thyroid level. He also told me when I worked that many overtime hours it would play havoc with my thyroid. Sure wish I could take this doctor with me when I move to Missouri.

Shad
Did you get the problems worked out with the ISP? I need to find out why this thing is changing sizes on me. It acts as though someone is on the other side doing it. I will get to the bottom of it in the future.

Laura
Sigh on the swim suit ordeal. I like the idea of getting swim shorts.

Hello Everyone! Work was busy this week and I have been clearing closets and shelves when I got home each night from work. I kept thinking I would post at lunch but never got to it.

I kept wondering how you all were and what I was missing. This morning as we drove into work, I caught up on the posts until the posts today and just read all of them. So, now I feel caught up with my Wordlie Friends.

Annie: I am so sorry that you are going to have to have that ankle fused. Hopefully it will end the pain. Also, I hope you don't get that stomach flu that is going through your daughters family. So awful when the little ones get it. Then poor mama, and she still has to take care of all that laundry.

I hope Jacob doesn't get it and can play his game tomorrow morning.

Happy: You are such a dependable person and the shelter is lucky to have you. I liked the gadget you found for Annie to consider after her ankle surgery.

Ceejay: Good for you that you have finally figured out that it is truly time for you to retire and do what you want to with your time. It sounds like you got it all sorted out and things are now in motion.

I hope you had a good doctor's appointment today and they figured out quickly what is going on and it is an easy fix.

Shad: What a scary thing you went through! I hope each day you are doing better and better. Now you are starting to get busy with getting ready for the new contract. I think I missed the start date and how long will this contract go?

Michelle: I hope things are doing well with your back now. I saw on FB you are going to go ahead and do the race. What is the date of the race?

Laura: I like you need to get back to logging my food. I've been "cheating" a bit and am not seeing the scales move like I want it too and I have slacked on the exercise. I told DH this morning that this weekend I'm getting back on track and building the habit of logging the food daily and back to my morning workouts.

I was so very sad to hear of Prince's passing. So talented and such a part of my life and music when I was 16 and into my 20's. I saw him in concert once. He was so amazing.

Not much else going on with me. DH saw the colon surgeon yesterday and had lost 17 of the final 25 lbs she wanted him to loose. She still wants him to get the rest of it off but said that even if she doesn't, she will do the surgery in the fall like we want to do. He sees her again on Aug 4th and we will set the date then.

DH wants to go in there with an additional 10-15 lbs off. I thought that sounded like a good number to achieve and I'm going to work towards that same loss on that date.

This weekend is busy. A bridal shower tomorrow from 11-2 and then a birthday dinner with a friend who lives in Dayton , OH.

I did a recovery on my computer last night and downloaded the windows 10. Think I just had half od it downloaded. This takes awhile.
I called my uncle last night to see if I could take him out to eat today for his birthday. I will be leaving in a few minutes. He sounded a lot better last night last week I was concerned about him. but he told me he was sick.

Susie
Yes I'm excited about the retirement. I wish the move was over and done with.

Drove over to Paragould and ate lunch with my uncle today as it was his 85th birthday. One of his brothers was there along with a cousin and his son. Had a good visit. Think I will go back next week end and spend the night with him. He's really wanting me too. And I think I can do it now.
Have a good week end.

Hello Chicklets...

What a weekend. Jacob didn't get sick with the stomach flu until Saturday during the night. He did a good job at his game. He has a hard time concentrating on the "ball" and the game. He likes to look around at the crowd, anything in the sky and heaven forbid the ball get dirt on it cause then he kicks it back instead of picking it up and throwing it. It is to dirty to handle. OMG, I had to laugh. Poor lil guy puked 3 or 4 times overnight Saturday and was down for the count yesterday. Now the entire family has had the flu, still hoping I don't get it.

Yesterday was church, C stayed home as he had to work yesterday, poor guy, especially when he can get no fishing in. Fishing is his relaxing time. Went to pick up some cleaning supplies and then by Sam's to check on the family. Came home and planted my flower bed out front that I cleared last weekend. That is all done. Next is the backyard which involves more effort. Clearing the gardens and cleaning out around my rose of Sharon and peony bush. I really used to enjoy all that, now I have no gumption nor can my ankle barely stand it. If this is what old age is about, bleh, over it.

Tonight is taco Monday at home. I have been craving homemade taco's for a few weeks and tonight is the night. Was going to fix then last night, but was out of the mood by the time C got home from work. Man what a night. I could not get to sleep for the life of me. Must of had too much iced tea (caffeine), since I have been drinking decaf coffee, must of been a shock to my system. It was after midnight when I finally got to sleep then was up at 4 with C. Short night, to be a long day now.

Michael and Pia are in Florida this week for one last hurrah. He texted me they are having a good time and pain has so far been minimal. He also sent me the balcony picture from his room with the ocean in the background. Looks fabulous! Glad he is having a good time.

I may postpone my ankle surgery till August, just want to see where M is with this cancer. I don't want to be messing with that in case the end is really near and he is not telling me. I want to be available.

SUSIE...WOW DH is doing great on his weightloss efforts...that has to be inspiring for you. Congrats! You can do it too!

CEEG...how was the birthday lunch? Where did you go? What did you eat? Just a few months to go on retirement!

HAPPY...Repeat after me...the person you are trying to reach is unavailable....when the thrift shop calls. lol. They sure do rely on you a lot.

SHADDIE...yuck, provider woes just stink. Hope all is resolved soon before you lose your ever loving mind.

LAURA...sad about Prince, dang drugs got another one. I have mixed feelings on promoting his death so much when it is due to drugs. His music and creativity however was extremely amazing. How is doggy and his tests? Make up and yogurt are the hardest things to get out with moist wipes. Bleh.

Hey CHELLE...hope your weekend was fab!

I have a continuing ed class tomorrow morning for my insurance license. It will be 4 hours towards my 24 needed to keep my license current.

Make is a great day/night. Hugs to all.
