Afternoon all.

Ceejay – Sorry to hear about the freak bike accident – OUCH!!! Glad it’s soreness and bruises and nothing more serious. I don’t know how to resize photos that are on my cell phone or how to attach or insert them into posts from my phone. I’ll have to figure that out sometime. I think I can upload my photos to my photobucket account and then insert them into a post, but I’d like to be able to resize them because they are high resolution and use a lot of space.

Dee – All this talk of strawberries and strawberry pie makes me want to try my hand at growing strawberries. Re the Peggy Cappy yoga...now I can’t recall if I ever had one of her yoga dvd’s. I know I watched her PBS special once. I think I did borrow one of her dvds from the library, but this particular one felt more like an introductory yoga session than an actual yoga workout session – going through a bunch of poses with a lot of explanation. She's a good instructor, but this dvd just wasn’t for me.

Susie – Too bad you missed your TOPS meeting, but sometimes things just get in the way. Great job on the loss!!

Annie – So did you go to yoga on Thursday night? If so, wondering how you liked it. Boo on the breach of your insurance company. That stinks. Re my stylist, I do like her, so I won’t leave just because I don't like a shampoo person. The shampoo staff seem to turn over with regularity, so I suppose there will be someone different after a while who will hopefully be more to my liking. I also think having my appointments on a weekday night is not a great thing for me – it can be tiresome for me. I prefer Saturday appointments, and that’s what I have for my next one. Unfortunately it’s at 2 pm – sort of goofs up the day at that time, but I’ll get over it.

Terra – Glad the new shoes are working out for you. Good job on the exercise!!!

Happy – Happy belated b-day to your hubby. I hope you had a nice dinner at the Italian place. I dunno, kind of sounds like the gym owner doesn’t always have it together. I’ve mentioned it before, but group fitness classes are my preference, and maybe that’s what works best for you too. Maybe finding the right workout videos for strength training will be the ticket, and then you can do your cardio on the treadmill & stationary bike (with music to make it tolerable), and keep on with the yoga classes. Yeh, I understand playing music like that results in an obligation to pay up – BMI and ASCAP are the companies that make sure the money gets to the artists (or producers??). It’s never simple. That’s why the older Body Electric workout shows that aired on PBS with popular music can’t be sold by Margaret Richard – she’d have to pay the royalties.

Shad – So kind of you to help that guy with the plate in his leg. Glad you’ve got some downtime this weekend – not voluntary, I bet. The houseboat trip sounds fun. We have friends who’ve done that here in Missouri or Arkansas, can’t recall. I’d like to have an experienced boater on the trip though...makes me nervous that they just give you a bit of instruction and send you off with a boat...

Hi Michelle!!

==
My day off yesterday was fine. I went to the Aerobic Essentials fitness class yesterday morning – it was mostly attended by seniors. I might have been the youngest one there...The cardio portion was fine if you put the energy into it - it was a beginner level class with simple choreography and it was low impact. The strength portion included 3 sets of pushups on the ballet barre and it was challenging for me and I counted it as my pushup challenge for the day. My pecs are sore today! I’m also feeling some muscle soreness from the ab work.

After a shower, I took the donations and dropped them off. One bag of old but wearable sneakers went to a running store that collects them for charity. Three bags went to my local thrift shop. I didn’t buy anything! I did stop at the bakery next door to buy a loaf of rye bread for us and one for bf’s mom.

Lunch was with bf’s mom and bf at the Mexican place a few blocks down our street in our village’s downtown. It was tasty, but it was a bit chilly in there. Afterwards we went back to the house and chatted a bit. Then it was a dog walk and just some tv and laziness.

Today was Jazzercise class, and now I’m doing some laundry.

We’re replacing our ancient tv tray table set with a new one. We wanted a wooden set with a dark espresso-colored finish, but it seems that regular furniture stores don’t sell these things. We prefer not to buy them online – I hate the thought of paying shipping on big items like furniture, and worse, having to return them if we don’t like them. I suppose Costco, Target or Walmart might have them, but we have doubts about the quality and selection. So we found a solid wood set that’s supposedly “like new” on Craigslist that we will go look at/pick up this afternoon. This set has a honey-colored finish, not a dark one, but they’re better than what we have right now (they have a light colored pickled oak finish that was popular in the late 80’s/early 90’s).

That’s it for right now. Gonna get this posted and get back to my laundry.

Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Saturday all,

Taking a break from cleaning out the bathroom linen closet. Yesterday's dinner was ok - not great IMO. DH wanted to try a different appetizer - bruschetta - and since it was his birthday, ok. It was alright. Got a house salad - that was good and I got the special spaghetti with clams and he got the pasta arriabiata - penne pasta in spicy sauce. He really enjoyed his dinner - I thought the clams were cooked perfectly but the pasta was rather bland in a white wine and lemon thin sauce. Could have used some fresh parmesan in my opinion and the sauce was rather bland. Teach me for straying from my favorites! Oh well we will be back again next month for our anniversary so I will stick with what works. Afterwards we went to the casino for a little while - DH lost his money quickly and then came back and recovered on the slot machines. He was $30 ahead and wanted to go. We were there perhaps an hour - not even I don't think. I wasn't ready to go yet but he was my ride... Came home, watched the movie Divergent - strange flick and then he went to bed and I did some work on the computer.

Tonight we are going out to try another town's first Saturday music fest. It was initiated by the local music teacher. Anyone can come and play - think those street performers we went to in Arkansas - aiggs - Shad but inside because it's way too cold to sit in a park and listen to ANYONE today. I am not crazy about going - particularly if this is a gospel music night but he seems to want to go so I will try it once. I guess the Menonite ladies make some awesome cinnamon rolls for sale with some coffee and we were told to save room for those.

Yes I am disappointed in the gym response. And I do prefer the classes over straight working out on my own. Still mulling things over.

Laura - back when I was in the cities - it did seem to make a big difference on a hair appointment on the weekend vs during the week. Up here most of the stylists do everything themselves, in fact at 2 of the salons, the shampoo bowl is part of the stylist's station itself. First time I saw that it was like - whattttt? Personally I don't think it's as comfortable as a regular basin and chair. That's nice that they can repurpose the gently used sneakers. I have a whole box of them - had a lot of trouble with cramps in my feet and I bought countless pairs trying to find something that fit well without pain - still looking. Even the Brooks you guys recommended haven't done the trick. Since I've worn many of them only a few times, I'll love to donate them where they'd do some good. We do sell shoes at the Thrift Shop Boutique but they are more boots and fancy shoes. 3 bags to the Thrift shop for you - that's a good purge! Good luck with the tv trays. I an an ancient set because I like the metal legs that lock into the grips, not the sliding wooden legs they have now. They are smaller tables which barely hold a plate and cup and I don't think they hold up very well. We tried 3 sets before I gave up and I am careful with the set we have now which has to be about 30 years old.

Terra - I wish is was nice enough here to walk outside but it's still pretty cold out there. Enjoy the fresh air!

Dee - that's a good idea with the netting over the plantings. We have done that with a little bush that seems to be like the finest chocolate offering to the deer but I never considered that to keep the birds away. Thanks!

Shad is "vegging" after she works the "veg" garden. Just sounds funny But I'm sure you worked up quite a sweat and put in a great effort. I could use you up here when it comes time to plant but it would still be too cold for you. Have you got the new trainer settled in? I have always wanted to stay on a houseboat. What great fun! I hope you have a wonderful time. Will you catch dinner off the deck end?

Ceejay - sometimes I use Microsoft Paint to resize my pictures. You can shrink a bigger picture but unfortunately you can't make a small picture big again. I used to use Microsoft Image Composer which was simple but suited my needs and then it was so old that it would not work with the upgrades of Microsoft Windows. Be careful with the tenderness from your fall.

Thank you for the birthday wishes for DH - I have passed them along and he said thank you. I think he had a nice birthday.

Well I'd better get back to the closet and try and figure out what to make for dinner tonight before we head out. Hello to the rest of the chicks - enjoy your weekend.

Shad - I also agree that it was so kind of you to help the guy on crutches. Everyone should experience being immobilized at some point in their life so they realize just how difficult it is to get around. And there isn't always an angel of mercy to help out. But when they do show up, it is much appreciated.

Hi Everyone. It was warm and sunny today here in Ohio and the car washes were packed!

I went to PT this morning, then to Verizon to get my replacement phone set up. i'm so glad to have my phone back! I really, really use my apps a lot and I had no idea until I had to limp along with a old phone we had for a couple of days while i waiting for my replacement.

I came home and woked for 4 hours. DH did the grocery shopping and we will clean tomorrow. My paycheck on Friday will be nice with 20.75 hrs of OT the last two weeks.

Ceejay---whooo hoool! You completed your exercise goals and your refunds are here. NICE!

Shad: This houseboat tour you are talking about. Will you be driving the boat? I have never heard of this sort of vacation but it sounds sort of fun. It's nice to have something to look foward too.

That was a very nice thing you did for that man.

Laura: Are you spring cleaning already? I'm off President's Day and I am determined that i will clean out the closet in the office that I have trinkets stored on. I also have a tub of things in the gararge of things I thought I might sell in a yard sale but never have, I think I'll look to see what I can donate of these items and put the rest at the curb with the trash that night.

Does anyone know what to do with old electronics? We have a couple of palm pilots and old phones that don't work. I dont know how to get rid of them.

Terra: I'm glad to hear that you like your shoes and that you are getting in your walks again.

Happy: Please tell your DH I wish him a Happy Belated Birthday. I'm curious to hear how this music fest thing you are going to turns out. It sounds interesting. I love to listen to live music of any kind.

Annie: What a pain in the !!! about the Anthem breech of security. Thanks for telling me that Clay girl was posting on another thread.

Dee: I see the other day we were posting over each other. I am still watching Nashville but haven't watched this weeks show. It is DVR'd and I hope to get to it before this Wednesday.

I like the September plans you have for us! I don't know how to play cards...with the exception of "Go Fish" and "Old Maid"! lol

I need to put this computer away and get the jeans out of the dryer and the next load in the dryer. A lot of laundry this weekend for some reason.

See you all tomorrow!

I'm at my uncles. Had a nice lunch. one of my cousin's and his son was there.
I went shopping today in Jonesboro at the mall and found 2 skirts that I could wear for wedding events in March.
It's late so I will do personals tomorrow.
Rode the bike 10 minutes this morning, then 20 minutes tonight.

A super quick post from me. I've had a sore throat since Thursday. Since I was off work yesterday, I stayed in bed the entire day. Well, except that Santa had diarrhea and had to go out every hour...which was no fun in the pouring rain. Today it didn't rain, so I went to the library to check out some DVDs as I'd watched everything on the DVR on Friday and I stopped at the grocery store for yogurt, soup and chili fixings. I rested for 5 or 6 hours and then I felt well enough to drive to the dog park. Santa played and I sat on a bench. Then we went home and I made the chili. Santa seems to be feeling much better I hope. I'm feeling about the same. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain pretty much all day, so it will be another day of rest for me and Santa.

Since I haven't been feeling well, I haven't visited Bob since Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm hoping to feel well enough to see him tomorrow or Monday.

I hope you are all doing well.

Much love,

Afternoon all.

Happy – How was the music fest yesterday? If you have all those shoes barely worn, google to see if there's a donation source in your area, or perhaps in Duluth to drop off when you get back there.

Susie – Nope, haven't started spring cleaning yet, i just accumulated items during the year in one of our closets. Sometimes I'll wear an article of clothing & realize i just don't want it anymore. When it comes out of the laundry I'll place it in the donation bag in the closet. Re your electronics, just do a google search for electronics recycling & I'm sure you'll find a collection event or dropoff spot.

Ceejay - Like that new avatar! Nice you found something for the wedding.

Michelle - I hear it's been stormy out your way. Hope the rest you're getting makes you feel better!

Hellos to the rest of you!
--
We bought the tray table set yesterday . Practically new - the guy selling them didn't even use them, just a bit dusty. ( I wiped them down with a damp rag and they’re good to go.)

After the purchase was lunch at a good burger place not far from where the seller lives.

Back home to walk doggy. I was whooped by workouts two days in a row, so the evening was lazy.

This morning was lazy too, but I've got a load of laundry going now & will get doggy out on the patio for some brushing.

That’s it for me. TTFN.

Hi all,

Quick check in for me. Grey and chilly Sunday. Don't feel like doing much so I started going through one of my bathroom closets - score - found a jar of my favorite moisturizer in the back shelf And I also tore apart the master bedroom closet. Found a bunch of fleece pjs I forgot I had. Also a bunch of tops, socks and underwear I packed when we thought this was just going to be a vacation home for us. I'm washing the stuff and most of it will get donated except for a few workout shirts. I have of course made a big mess and after working for 4 hours I am tired. Just taking a break to come look up a recipe for supper.

The music thing yesterday was kind of fun. We were talking to some people we knew and people we met so it was half talk, half listen to the music. It was a nice evening out. We'd do it again.

DH is watching the movie "The Vow" and periodically uttering some editorial comments like B.S. --- Hey I told him it was a chick flick. He's got plenty more recorded movies to watch - don't know why he decided on this one. Maybe it will inspire his feminine side to cook dinner - you think? Nope, I didn't either.

Anyway I am getting hungry and we are having casseroles so I'd better get on it.

Sorry you are under the weather Michelle - hope you are feeling better after resting a bit. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Ceejay - good score on the clothes.

Laura - ditto for you on the tv tables - glad to hear they worked out!

Susie - I can only imagine how much you miss your smart phone while it was getting replaced - that would be like me losing my computer! Glad all is well with the world again.

I guess DH gave up on the movie - 10 minutes - LOL - yeah, not everything is good like the ones on the Hallmark Channel. Maybe that's what he was expecting. Anyway off to cook. Later chicks.

I didn't work this Sunday! I haven't done that in so long. We went to church and then took a lovely nap.

I got up and finished some cleaning and made baked beans and deviled eggs for dinner, DH made pork chops (for him), and mashed potatoes.

I will clean up the kitchen and then sit down and watch some of the Grammy's. I won't finish them all--I am not going to stay up that late.

Ceejay: It sounds like you had a nice lunch with your family. What are your 2 skirts like? You are doing great with the bike exercise..keep it up!

Happy: how fun that you found a "treasure" cleaning out the bathroom closet. I hope you found something yummy to cook for dinner.

Michelle: I'm sorry to hear that you and Santa have been under the weather this weekend. At least you finally had some rest.

Laura: It's nice that you were able to find the tray table set and they turned out really nice. I hope you have enjoyed your lazy Sunday.

Terra: It sounds like you had a busy day, but a fun one.

I better get the kitchen cleaned up. See you all tomorrow.

Hey Today we got 1" of snow after it almost all, melted Saturday. After dh's annual cancer CT on Friday, we went to Ds2 & took DiL a flowering plant & birthday card & @ the store I got Spumoni ice cream, a fav that I got my 4 g-babes hooked-on. We only stayed 2 hrs., 2 of the kiddos were sick but ice cream makes everyone feel Better

Everyone is doing pics for their avatars, I did a selfie today & didn't like it, not a 'good hair day' & 'no makeup' & I'm in fleece pants w a hoodie. So I deleted it & I clicked the first pic of me I saw in a 2014 file @ a lighthouse & the lake winds r blowing my long hair My bob is growing out & I'm not sure I want to keep it short. The other pic I had here once was sitting on the beach, strong wind blowing my hair again. At least the winds r cooling during the hot temps. Duh, I'm easy to understand, 'Me genuinely Likes the "Warm" weather temps' We're hoping to save $$ to go south on a 2 wk. vacation next winter. Last winter @ the Disney Fort Wilderness Resort campground we met many ppl that camp there the 1st week of Feb. annually to avoid the spring-break crowds. Half the campers were ppl our ages 50's-60's & others were retirees.

Happy ~ Re: (watching the movie "The Vow" and periodically uttering some editorial comments like B.S.) TY Eric I haven't laughed all afternoon... TY for your info on why u enjoy Peggy Cappy, I'll check my library to see if they have any of the DvDs that u told me about, if not I'll buy 1 @ Amazon to try her. I love finding 'forgotten items' it makes me feel so happy I'd love lounging in your cozy clothes & I know I'd prob keep half of it. It's a very Good idea that u plan to Keep your 'workout shirts'.

Laura ~ WooHoo about u scoring the tray table set u were looking for Because the Peggy Cappy DvDs weren't a good fit for u, what would u suggest that's a entry level Yoga DvD of what u began doing. I like soothing & also dance music & beginner instructions will b necessary, I'm also quite limber. I'm also trying a Peggy Cappy DvD that Happy likes. Every time anyone mentions 'rye bread' I start to crave a 'grilled Reuben sandwich' (but I remove the caraway seeds) .

Susie ~ I'm so happy for u that u got your smart phone back I'm like u, I rely on my phone & I have 2, inexpensive 7" tablets in my 2 fav handbags w client files loaded to b efficient when I'm out & about. They help me until I get back to my home office/studio. Re: (Dh grocery shopping) I'm so happy u can rely on John for that. Ron is terrible even w a list he 'shops His way' on unneeded stuff. Re: (playing cards) I taught our g-babes card games for 'math/counting--brain strategy' like: Rummy, Miles Borne, Crazy Eight, Black Jack, Uno, Cribbage & we play lots of board games: chess, Pictionary, Scrabble, (Smurf) Monopoly they're learning about money & values & counting change back. I mainly play those card games I listed w ppl. At their home they have a Xbox they play in the winter; dh & I don't, we live hands-on & DIY as much as we possibly can, it makes life interesting & fun.

Chelle ~ I'm so sorry about your sore throat Glad that u & Santa r getting lots of rest. Feel better Soon! I hope that your 'yogurt, soup & chili' helped u to keep up your strength.

Ceejay ~ U Lucky Girl, finding 2 skirts to wear for your wedding events in March. Your new avatar is soo nice, it's a very Pretty reminder that Spring is getting closer. I hope u aren't still in pain as u do your bike exercises. My phone doesn't have many apps & maybe u could go to your phones website to see if there is a 'tutorial' for your camera photos. Whenever someone sends me a pic from their IPhone or Smart phone; I resize it using either: Microsoft Office, Roxio, Windows or Photobucket on my tablets or my laptop. Good Luck w getting the results u r looking for.

Terra ~ You r so lucky that u live in a state that u could b outdoors & do yard work today & had a beautiful day today. I hope that u get many more days like that this month.

Shad ~ Congrats on your houseboat trip When dh & I were in Las Vegas about 10 yrs. ago, ppl were talking about going I think on Lake Mead & Lake Powell house boat cruises. I've also heard of them in Utah, Florida Keys & the Mississippi River, but the boats started @ about $400 daily for a 50 ft. up to $1,000 daily depending on size & luxury (on my List to-do if I ever won a Huge lottery prize). We'll b looking forwards to seeing your pics when u return from your trip.

Hi Annie ~

I'm making a BLT egg pie for supper tomorrow, maybe beer-battered onion rings will b a yummy side dish. No dessert, I have a zipper bag full of pretzels for dh & I to feed our sweet-tooth, that me & my g-babes put in the freezer for a lazy day. We drizzled melted: choc. chips/peanut butter chips/white chocolate chips over the pretzels & sprinkled them w ground walnuts & ground flax to make it a 'healthy snack'

D. Abbey starts soon & dh just went to bed. Everyone have a safe-fun week

Sorry that you and Santa are sick. Feel better soon. Does he have a phone?

Susie
I think my aunt called one of the skirts a hounds tooth print in black and white. I'm thinking about having the black and white skirt cut off a couple of inches. I bought it at J.C.Penny and the other skirt I bought at Dressbarn. It's black, red, white stripes. I'll see if I can find a link.

Happy
A good find while cleaning out the bathroom closet. Glad you had a good time at the music fest. Always more fun with friends. Did DH find something else to watch?

Laura
It's good to have a lazy Sunday once in a while. We all need a day to rest and do nothing. Glad that you were pleased with the tray set.

Hello's to the rest. I'll catch you later.
-----------

Went to church this morning then out to eat lunch, then back to my uncles. Their granddaughter from Nashville, TN came home this week end. It was good to visit with her. And now I am back home. My aunt called to tell me news from a cousin in Lubbock which wasn't good. And also talked to my sister from Missouri. All is well in her world. She was proud of her new Fitbit. The place where she works wants them to were one and if the accumulate at least 6000 steps they earn points on their insurance which they can redeem at some point. This is part of their wellness program. I laughed at her because she said she was running in the house and her granddaughter looked at her like, "nana what's wrong with you".
I have beef tips is the crock pot with onions and carrots. It is smelling good

Umm, back in Melbourne and the pressure increases. We start Super User training next week. Should be fun. Have no idea on some of the subjects, but we will get there. Bedazzle them with brilliance or bewilder them with b*llshit. That's my mantra.
Food for the day has been sparse but good. Hopefully I will see a loss this week. Yesterdays weighin was a gain. It's got to be fluid but it is annoying.

Better go try to catch up on some sleep. Back tomorrow with maybe some better stuff.
