Morning all. Happy Thursday to all of you, and happy garbage day and happy payday to me!

Mel - Hope a meal gets rid of the nausea and that you can get back to sleep. !@#$% alarms!! I think you posted that coffee graphic to get Ms. Java here. I think I heard a blurb on the news re that election - it only stuck in my head because I don't care for the name Cory, LOL. the boss lady didn't have any comments to speak of re my project, which was our 2014 budget, BTW. Apparently neither did her boss. Off it goes to the financial planning folks.

Happy - Did you get the cats to finally settle down? Or did they keep going until the energy ran out? It's no surprise to me that your Firebird took forever - it was the 70's and the car mfrs still thought they were the kings of the universe. How did the box sorting in the garage go yesterday? Our garage doesn't have boxes stored in it, but it sure could use a clean-out!

Shad - Aren't you on the warpath!?!?! And who could blame you - a lot of foot-dragging going on. Glad kitty is healing well.

Annie - Isn't that just the key - string the losses together. Instead it's been ups and downs. Sigh. But I'm not giving up!! Another nice day here - how about by you? Worthy of a "sick" day?

Ceejay - We're having cool weather too, but I heard it's going to be heating up soon, and by next week we could be in the 90's. When I think "what if something happens to us", a whole host of thoughts cross my mind, and one of them is someone else having to go through all our stuff. That's by no means the most critical concern if something happens, but it would be a major chore. For you, it's much more real - in what's really a short time, you'll be making a major move and you sure don't want to drag too much with you. The key is you know it's coming and can address it little by little.

Hi Michelle!!
==
Nothing to report. Wait, yes there is: My HS gal friends are planning a cruise for our milestone bday year next yr. So far there's only 4 of us, but I'm 99.9% sure I'm on board (get it - on board for the cruise, yuk yuk).

Have some planning to do for that, as well as trying to find a cheap flight to get to my mom's in MO in Sept/Oct. I think I've given up on that though...not gonna do Greyhound, not gonna drive - too much time. Just gonna suck it up and book the fight and be done with it.

Oh, bf and I went out to eat last night and when we got in the car to leave the restaurant, the car wouldn't start. It's some sort of electrical thing, or the starter/ignition. Not the battery because that was replaced last May - unless it's defective, but I don't thing that's it. He wiggled some wires under the hood and turned a lot of the electrical accessories on and off and got it to start, so we weren't stranded, but ugh, hate car problems. Oy, hope it's not too expensive. NOTE TO SELF: Buy the !@#$% motor club membership already!! (I keep putting it off. Doh!)

Okay, back to work. TTFN!

Good Morning/Nite all...

I am on a very painful webcast at the moment. It keeps cutting in and out and the speaker is so monotone, blah blah blah.

Got my hair cut last night. I love getting my hair cut then came home and made 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwiches, cut up tomatos and had leftover white rice for dinner. Very easy night.

Tonight is baked lightly breaded pork chops, baked quartered cut red potatos with olive oil, garlic and oregano, have not decided if greenbeans or mixed veggies. I made angel food strawberry creamcheese cake for dessert, which I am not eating. Bro, SIL and Sissy are coming for dinner.

MELLIE...Loved the coffee cartoon, I sent it on to my coffee klatch peeps. Hope you are feeling better and the alarms remain silent.

HOLY SMOKES SHADDIE...you are one busy woman. My brother ordered a Fiat X19 back in the 70s, it took them 8 months to deliver it. THen it came in the wrong color. Sheesh. He accepted it anyway as he was tired of waiting as he was driving a VW.

HAPPY...crazy cats, wonder where they get that from? lol

Hi to all the rest of ya's.

Hugs

There you go LAURA posting over my head. No cruises for this gal, no way, so sir, too many horror stories in the news about those cruise ships. Instead spend the same money or less and get an all inclusive stay in Cancun. I hate car probs too, and to think you only have one car to rely on. That stinks. I belong to AAA Motor Club. So far the only people to use is Curtis and Samantha. I guess by having it, I will not have car probs. Kind of like a good luck charm. Beautiful weather here. I did leave the office at 3 yesterday, to get home and enjoy it a bit. Next week brings back hot and humid. Bleh. Blame it on Tropical Storm Erin?? Who knows, this weather has been ridiculous. Have a great afternoon! Enjoy!

WELL....NO NAPS AND NO REST.
TOO WIDE AWAKE SO I SORTED 1/2 OF A CLOSET.
FOUND A BOX OF TOPS FOR WHEN I AM SKINNY.
GAVE THEM TO THE MAINT. LADY FOR THE GD.
SHE SAID SHE CAN USE THEM FOR SCHOOL.
THEY ARE LIKE BRAND NEW.
MY CLUTTER IS SO ORGANIZED IN BOXES AND THOSE VACUUM BAGS.
BUT IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS TO SAVE THIS STUFF.
SO I AM GOING TO SORT THE REST OF THE SUMMER STUFF THIS WEEKEND.
HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A GREAT DAY.

LAURA....GLAD THE BOSS WAS VIRTUALLY COMMENT-FREE.
NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS...USUALLY.
HOW WONDERFUL ABOUT THE CRUISE IDEA.
SOUNDS GREAT TO ME.
HOPE THE CAR IS CHEAP TO REPAIR.
WTF!!! JUST BEFORE THE WINTER MONTHS AHEAD

HAPPY....I SEE I TYPED "GAPPY" YESTERDAY
HOPE YOU GOT THE CATS CALMED DOWN.
WHEN YOU LEARN THE TRICK TEACH ME.
IT JUST MIGHT WORK WITH THE SENIORS!!

CEEJAY...OUR MORNINGS HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL TOO.
I GUESS WE BETTER ENJOY THEM WHILE THEY LAST.
WE'RE HEADED FOR MORE STORMS OVER THE WEEKEND THEY SAY.
HOW WAS THE NEW MOWER???

ANNIE...DON'T SAY THOSE THOUGHTS TOO LOUD...
THE HOUSING AUTHORITY MIGHT THINK THEY CAN SAVE MONEY IF THEY TIE A PLOW OR MOWER ON MY BACK!! ROFLMAO
ONE YEAR THE MEN SAID AT THE MEETING IF THEY TIED A SNOWBLOWER TO MY CHAIR, THEY COULD SAVE A TON OF OVERTIME!!!
LOVE ME SOME GRILLED CHEESE. YUM!!
ENJOY THE NEW HAIRCUT!!

SHAD...I DID A "DUMP RUN" TO MY MAINT. LADY. ROFL
SHE WOULD LOVE EVERYTHING YOU TOSS OUT.
SHE'S A HOARDER OF SORTS!!
YOU WOULD MAKE HER VERY HAPPY!!
YOU'RE GETTING READY FOR SPRING....
AND I AM GETTING READY FOR WINTER.
MAYBE THE CAR MAN WANTS TO PUT A LOVELY RED RIBBON ON THE CAR?!?!

MELLIE...believe it or not, all the cleaning, tossing and sorting I have done, I could still go through it all over again and have another mess to dump. I tell you combining two houses into one, then inheriting some of dad's stuff. I need a house to house the stuff. Maybe you could attach dusters to your chair and roll around dusting your apt. We can come up with all sorts of things you can do with that chair. lol.

Waiting for the lunch to digest some more before I get outside to mow. It's only 73 degree's in the middle of the day. I'm not looking forward to the heat returning. I'm ready for fall.

Mel
I like the new mower. It's a bit different than the other one but 3 inches wider in cut. I have most of my stuff in plastic bends and I'm like you there is absolutely no reason to keep it.

Laura
Yeah for getting the project done and without much comment. That's good news.

Happy
Were you awake all night due to the cats?

Annie
Been thinking about getting my hair trimmed which usually end's up being cut to short. You know a grilled cheese sandwich would be a good idea for tonight.

Michelle
What's going on?

Okay...I'm pretty sure I told y'all about this new job I'm starting on Monday. So I gave my notice to my now former agency last week Monday, but my manager was on vacation. So then this week rolls around, and Monday is a work from home day, so on Tuesday, I worked for a couple hours and then he called me into his office and wanted my badge and laptop. No worries. This happens all the time when you've got a job dealing with computers and websites.

Anyway, I called my new agency and said I could start on Thursday (today)...but the manager at the new job said to just have me start on Monday. I'm very excited about this new position because I know I will do well and the pay is $8/hour MORE than what I was making AND the insurance, which I have to pay for until I go permanent, is cheaper.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow, I'm providing transportation for a friend who is undergoing radiation for cancer. He's doing pretty well all things considered. Then after I drop my friend back off at his place, I've been going over to D's place to say hi to him...and get a nice hug and smooch. He's been busy cleaning and doing some renovation/repair on his house, which is over 100 years old and needs some help.

I went to the gym on Tuesday and Wednesday to ride the recumbent exercise bike for 1/2 hour both days. I saw the chiropractor yesterday and he did a little subtle alignment and lots of acupuncture, and I imagine he'll do the same tomorrow. Last night, I vacuumed and tidied up the house because my step-mom is getting back from her trip this evening (she went to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite with her boyfriend, and her brother and sister-in-law).

Sorry I'm so far behind on personals. I do think about you ladies all the time. I just haven't had much time on the computer lately...despite being off work.

I'll hopefully be able to catch up with y'all later tonight or tomorrow.

Much love,

Afternoon all,
Getting this done now as I have an early start tomorrow (4am) and don't know when I will get back on line again next week.

Managed to lock myself out of the house again yesterday. Gawd I am stupid sometimes. So today I have got 3 more keys cut which I will keep in some unusual and secret places. Can't do this too often, I will begin to think I have Alzheimer. Anyway the man came out and replaced the pane of glass and laughed the entire time he was here.

I'm about to go get my suitcase out of the wardrobe and pack my bags. Don't think I need to take anything too special since I will be working in the dust and dirt, grit and grime most of the time. However we will go out to dinner one night I am sure.

The car man has been back and forth. The upshot appears to be that my black car will not be here until the end of September. They are offering me a loan car. Or I can have a white one with a couple of extras on (not sure if these are the extras I asked for - need to go and check out the paperwork) and it will cost me an extra $2K. It is available first week in September - so they say. I've asked for a couple of clarifications and will make a decision when they get back on that one. Bah humbug.

If I have time, I will come back with personals later. Other than that I will catch up with you somewhere over the pond.

Good Morning/Evening!!

Nice evening with dinner guests. Quite yummy dinner and lots of laughter. Lil man was very entertaining. He was shaking the chain link fencing in the backyard shouting "Rally, Rally, Rally" like at a baseball game. Too stinkin funny.

CEEG....we must be having the same kind of weather you are. Except the tropical storm Erin will not reach us. You may get some rain out of it. I think Mellie will get some of it too but not till like the end of next week.

My computer just did something weird and posted part of my post and now I am typing in advanced screen.

MELLIE...Go rest up and come back when you feel like giving us a shout out.

CHELLE...you are such a good person and deserve all the good things coming to you in your life plus more. Have a nice 4 days off before starting new job. Goodluck!!

SHADDIE..you are getting down and dirty for the next job. Hmmmm, makes me wonder if there is pole dancing involved. ba hahahaha. Hope all goes well and there are not too many idiots you have to work with.

Hello to all the rest of ya's.

Hugs.

Morning all. Happy Friday!

Annie - Love the dog/pet stats. I do want to do one of those all-inclusive resort vacations someday. Easy way to vacation when you want to just hang out in a tropical environment and chill on the beach. But cruises allow you to see a few different places...but I was clear to my friends - no Carnival cruises!!

Mel - I feel tired just looking at the time of your post!! You need to get paid a shift differential amount like the nurses do when they work their ungodly hours in the middle of the night.

Shad - Safe travels! I'd definitely be hiding some keys around the exterior if the lockouts are getting to be frequent - do you have an account with the glass guy, LOL. Reminds me, I need to make sure bf put our spare key back in it's not-so-hidden place. He locked himself out on garden day and used it, and last I saw it was on the kitchen counter. I might have to put another key in a secret spot - he's not so great with putting things back in their homes. Gosh, what is it with the car that's posing such a problem getting it to you??!!

Michelle - I'm not surprised you were released from the other job right away - with computers, etc., just a precaution. Sounds like you've been making great use of your time off. Enjoy the rest of it!!!

Ceejay - Nice that your mower cuts a wider swath - less work, right?

Hello Happy!!
==
Another ho-hum day. I did sign on for the AAA motor club membership yesterday, so Annie, hopefully you're right - we won't ever need to use it. But I have in the past! I gave up the membership a few years ago because I thought I already had something similar included in my auto insurance coverage, but it turned out to just be reimbursement for similar expenses, but not a service. Bleh.

Bf took the car to the dealer yesterday and we had a loaner vehicle last night. Nice SUV type thing - Acura RDX. I like those backing-up cameras.

Went to Jazzercise class last night. It was alright. Everyone's favorite instructor is on vacay this week, so the attendance was down last night for the substitute instructor. I hope our fave is back for Saturday morning's class.

Okay, enough with the interruptions already!

Nothing planned this weekend except Jazzercise. Plenty to do around the house this weekend. I caught a good sale on the index tab dividers I wanted for my recipe binder, so I will switch out the tabs. Maybe that'll motivate me to pick out some recipes to prepare next week!

That's it for me. Everyone have a great weekend.

Morning ladies,

Man I am getting scatterbrained lately. Was talking to my cousin this morning and my Mom last night - both asked what I was up to and for the life of me, I drew a blank. I know I did something to while away the day but what was it???? Most days seem like that lately. The day is actually filled with little but totally unmemorable things - clean up counters, vacumn, clean the baths, scoop litter boxes, tend to the plants, etc. I am trying to take a room at a time and go through it completely and reorganize and toss things I don't need or don't use. The other day started in the laundry room - not a big room but by the time it came to do supper, I still had more to do. And more annoying - it doesn't really look like I did anything that took 6 hours to work on Today I have laundry, more housework and I really should take an hour to price some costume jewelry for the shop. There were some grumblings about the cases being a bit empty We are going to a fish fry tonight and tomorrow to an Italian buffet special at the casino. So 2 nights out this week To make up for the extra calories I have been eating Lean Cuisine meals for lunch all week and watching my supper portions. Weather warmed up a bit - we are kissing the 80 degree temps - kind of warm for DH working outside but I hope it gives a boost to my tomatoes. And we had a new momma turkey show up with 9 baby chicks. Mom is by herself - that's a pretty big brood to handle herself. I can't believe she is the momma to all of them. Hummingbirds are going through about a gallon - yes a GALLON of sugar water each day. I think they are starting to prep for their long trip south. My cousin got their firewood (they heat with a wood stove), wood pellets and stocked the freezer at a meat sale last week. She said she is preparing for winter. I said isn't it a little early???? But I will blame her totally if it snows next week

Mellie - sorry you had such an early roll call. Hope you got back to sleep for a while. Is this the last surge of summer and the seniors are giving you a run for your money? How is Jen doing? Did your sciatica ease up?

Laura - I see you have one of those guys also where objects homes are where ever they drop them last. I gave up complaining about it. Now I just call him from whatever he's doing and make him go retrieve the missing item. Thanks for the review on the Millers. Yesterday was the last day it was at our movie theater. I missed that one and The Heat as well. I understand what you are talking about with the motor club - I wanted to keep AAA and DH said we had the same coverage on our insurance. We argued about the expense and the fact that we hardly used it so I gave in and just dropped it. But it's nice to have when you need it. Funny that you talk about the back up camera. With cars that park themselves, back up cameras, directional guidance systems in 10 years we will be telling our grandchildren about how hard it was to drive in the old days when we were learning and had to "rough it" ourselves. I barely remember the days when power steering was an option as well as disc brakes but it was harder

Annie - glad you are loving up the baby. Where'd he get rally from too funny - he's at that adorable age of cuteness and looks like such a happy guy from his pictures. I totally agree with the pet stats - even if sometimes they make us crazy!

Shad - have a good time this weekend. Hope you sort out the car issues with what works out best for you. Did Sunday check out well at the vet?

Michelle - nice that you have a few unexpected days off to tend to some things. Especially helping out a friend with a ride. Enjoy the extra time and good luck on the new job Monday!

Ceejay - hope the cooler weather holds up for you - especially on those lawn mowing days. Glad you got everything assembled properly and no left over parts And no, I don't let the cats keep me awake. If they get too rambunctious I just holler at them and they run upstairs!

Well I'd better get off the computer and get cracking here. Have a good weekend everyone.

Haven't gotten a whole lot done today, but I have rested. That's a good thing. Then I trimmed the bushes. The skies are still over cast today. Made a run to Wally World this morning. Need to go back cause I was side tracked when the girls down the street approached me. Decided on a Bar B cue sandwich for lunch and this place has excellent reviews but good heavens that was the sweetest bbq I've ever eaten. This is the first and last time there.

Laura
Don't blame you for not wanting to go on a "Carnival" cruise. That type of vacation has never appealed to me. Mainly I don't like the open water. I don't even like to get into a fishing boat. I'd love to have a back up camera on my rav 4.

Happy
Don't blame yourself for not remembering you what you did yesterday. It's important at the time but later on down the line it doesn't matter. I'm the same way. Who wants to know about my same ole things.

Michelle
I don't blame you for taking a better job with better benefits. How nice of you to take a friend for his treatments.

Annie
I can't wait for when I get to retire and be around young children, my sissy's grandchildren. I'm gonna spoil them more rotten than what they already are.

Mel
Bah humbug on the cops calling you that early. Hope you got to go back to bed.

Shad
Safe travels. I guess when they say custom built they mean it.

Going to make my second run to Wally World when the washer is through.
