Good morning girls. Happy Friday.
I came up for a PP break. Better post now.
The weather man is telling us the worst is yet to come.
Blizzard white-out conditions and thunder snow coming.
You can tell already there will be thunder.
The whole area was in fog yesterday. Very weird to look at.
We're very short in the office.
Will try and get back tonite or tomorrow.

SHAD....I SENT YOU AN E-MAIL.

STAY WELL CHICKS. SEE YOU SOON

MELLIE - The storm heading your way will be BAD! PLEASE stay safe! I hope you, Jen and Richie have enough food and supplies, including flashlight batteries to get you through the weekend. Sending prayers and angels to keep you safe, and to keep you warm. Much love, sister.

As for me...I didn't sleep well again last night. Too much snowblowing going on in the neighborhood so Santa was very restless and had to go out a lot to see what was going on. My ex will keep Santa overnight tonight since he'll be taking all 3 dogs to the groomer early in the morning. I'll be going over to the house around 9:30 or 10 am, so I can get my laundry done while the ex is gone...then when he and the dogs come home, Santa and I will have the rest of the day to ourselves.

Much love to all,

Whew Mel, Hope you have all the things you need before the storm hits. That's going to be huge.

Michelle
Did you have to drive into work this morning in white stuff? I don't envy any of this.

Laura
Ugh on the reviews, I hate those.

Happy
How much snow did you get?

-------
Think I'm on the mend. I've been sneezing like crazy but not nearly congested. Oh my and the cough. It's not deep though so that's good. I think I missed pay day yesterday but not sure. That's how much I don't care any more.
Took the garbage out while ago and brrrr. I wasn't expecting that cold north wind.
Going out to Walmart in a few minutes to get some cough medicine. The doctor has given me Delsym before and it worked and more Kleenex. The fever broke last night. Let's pray it doesn't come back. I'm tired of this already.

I can see where the headaches are from stress at work. You've been doing more than your share.

Morning girls,

Mel - I hope the bulk of the storm stays north and east of you and you get 1/2 rain, 1/2 snow. Looks like this could be the cold version of Storm Sandy for you guys. Sending you good thoughts and hoping you can stay warm with power and supplies and all that you need.

Ceejay - sounds like you got a whopper of a cold. Just give in to it, rest, get your fluids and hopefully you have the weekend off to just focus on feeling better. To answer your question we got about 5 inches of snow the other day, looks like another storm is headed our way on Sunday with 6 to 10 more inches predicted.

Michelle - glad you were able to dodge the traffic the other day. Hope there's nothing seriously wrong with the snowblower. That had to be frustrating. One nice thing about up here - with it being so dry, the snow is powdery and light up until mid spring so ours is not as bad as yours when it comes to shovelling. But it does tend to blow around. Just watch that back of yours. I know what you mean about the mixed boxes - even though I set things up carefully when we moved, one of the kids that boxed stuff up literally threw things in haphazardly, didn't mark the outside of the boxes correctly so like you, I am on a treasure hunt to find stuff. Very frustrating. I guess since you have to pare down what you'll be keeping, it's probably not a bad thing to go through every box - if nothing else you can make sure things are wrapped properly for a longer transport.

Laura - thanks for the suggestion of the spiky footwear. I will have to check those out. DH was wearing his MBT boots yesterday which we know from the past do not have a good sole for snow. He took a tumble down the stairs yesterday and since he is back on Coumadin in preparation for his heart procedure, falling is not a good thing. We had a really good Toro snowblower in AH, but sold it for a song when we moved to TN because we thought we'd seen the end of snow When we moved up here DH was going back and forth between a plow for the ATV or a snowblower attachment for the tractor lawnmower. He was leaning towards the snowblower but in the end, went with the plow. Now he wishes he had gotten the snowblower. (In all actuality you probably need both to cover all snow conditions) However, even if he got the snowblower attachment, we'd still need something smaller to clean off the wide aprons of the garage and mancave. He finally ordered a snowblower from Home Depot yesterday but it looks like that will take about 2 weeks or so to ship And it looks like we are going to get whacked with another storm on Sunday. We called around to a few stores but all they carry are the big $1500 blowers and that's more than we want or need right now. Bad enough we are spending close to a thousand dollars for the one we ordered. He fusses about spending so much money but to me, some things are an investment we just have to make. And we don't have alot of shopping options up this way either. Anyway - I hope your performance review came out favorable enough to merit a big fat raise and bonus Did you escape the bad weather that was predicted?

Shad - 15 polyps Holy cow. That's a cluster of grapes there! I'm sure that will mean more frequent check ups although I'm glad it was not cancer. Hope something comes about on the job front although I would not be chomping at the bit for the big mine one. I think you've been there before on the "why did I agree to this" kinds of contracts But I guess they can't all be fun - although are any of them fun? Guess it depends on the people involved.

Today we are supposed to go to dinner to celebrate DH's birthday. We had snow on Wednesday and he had a headache so we agreed - or he suggested that we reschedule. He's taking a nap now so I had better get off the computer and get a few things done around the house. I also need to get serious about monitoring the diet plan. Gained a couple of pounds since I've been home - mostly because I was barely eating when I was working - afraid of loo issues and while I am not overeating by any means, I am eating more than just barely. Don't want to regain what I lost over the last couple of months. Got a new yoga video this week too - good opportunity to try it out. Anyway - on with the day. Be good chicks and be careful with the weather out there.

Morning all. Happy Friday!!

Mel - I know you're probably the most prepared person in the builidng (in town???? LOL) but still, just wanted to tell you to be safe and double-check all your supplies before you hunker down for this whopper storm heading your way.

Michelle - I do take a multi-vitamin daily, but that and my calcium supplements are it for my vitamin regimen. I feel like I generally get enough sleep...I don't know if I'm just getting unlucky picking up these bugs or what. I do know I really need to get back to my exercise. I'm glad you got home alright last night - hope this morning went alright too. Too bad your sleep wasn't the best. Hope you catch up tonight!! Last night walking home from the train was very wet and slushy in spots and just heavy wet snow in others. It was best that bf didn't come get me. He did the snowblowing before the snow was done falling just so he could be sure the blower would deal with all that heavy wet snow. We were both surprised it did. The streets are very slick this morning on our side streets - hope the plows get around to salt today.

Ceejay - Glad you're starting to feel better. Too many sickies here right now, including me! Yep, I'm so glad my review is done now!!

Shad, hope your weekend is off to a good start.

Annie, keep that stress at bay. Stop your work for a few minutes to look at some pretty photos of flowers or landscapes.

Happy - did you get a lot more snow?? Or at least enough to keep the sporting folks satisfied??

My review yesterday went fine. Relieved it's over and done with! The admin's didn't go so well, she's very ticked. She filled me in on some of it and it does sound like the boss did a crummy job of documenting it. Forget bringing up issues at the time they are noted so there's a chance to correct the behaviors! And the bad part is that there was negative input from the boss's boss, and that was the kiss of death for the senior manager that had been let go almost two years ago. I sure hope the same isn't coming for the admin...

I didn't do much of anything last night, and didn't finish packing a bag for this weekend. Heck, I barely brought the bag up from the basement! I pulled together a lot of it this morning, but I'll still have to scramble to finish after work. I might leave work a bit early so it won't be such a scramble. Then I'll get the train out to D's and she'll pick me up. I think we'll go out for dinner, and then tomorrow morning we'll get an early start to Madison.

We'll meet up with friends there and hang out - maybe bum around and perhaps shop a bit - and then meet for dinner and hang out some more in the hotel pool/whirlpool. Sunday we'll head back home.

Well, my tea's gone cold. I might go upstairs to nuke it. I guess I should go back to using my thermal mug with the lid during this cold weather so it doesn't get so cold so fast.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Aha - I see Laura's been typing over my head again. Have a great weekend trip with your friend. Hopefully the weather won't affect you. And yes, we got a really good base of snow for the weekend warriors and this next storm on Sunday will be the answer no doubt to the ski race people's prayers. The bad news is that our peaceful little plot of land is now noisy with snowmobiliers which also scares away our animals.

Yep, it's 3 a.m. woke up coughing. This stuff comes and goes. My fever was back yesterday. I told my friend I was going to urgent care Sunday if this keep going on. I may go today. I found some ciproflaxin and took one of them last night. Still have some heavy drainage.
I'm not going to my uncles today.

Happy
Hope the dh is okay from his fall.

Laura
I usually wait till the last minute to pack a bag too. Most of the time I keep everything together and just have to get a change of clothes.

Mel
Glad to hear that you are okay. And thanks for sending the phone and keys with Jen. You need to rest.

Annie
I've been thinking about going to urgent care but I'm feeling a bit better today. Hope your brother doesn't have any trouble on the road.

------
Wouldn't you know it, I sit here sick, postponed my trip to Paragould, and then my co-worker calls and wants me on standby because her dh mother has took a turn for the worse. I told her no and if I weren't better by tomorrow I was going to urgent care.
Think I'll go to the grocery store and get some lemons to see if that will help cut some of this crud out of my throat.

Hi ladies,

Mel - good to hear from you - glad you have heat and power. I know you haven't gotten much snow this year but for crying out loud, you don't need to get it all in one single storm! Watch out for yourself and the kids and go hide in your apartment if necessary. Hope everyone will be ok, sending warm thoughts.

Ceejay - I can't remember right now what foods are natural expectorants but use Mucinex or something to break up the crud. Don't forget to up your water dose too which helps trememdously.

Annie - happy printer shopping. Thank goodness it's not a big expense item like the computer itself and nowadays all you pretty much have to do is plug them in and they run. Gone are the days for finding the right printer drivers. Glad you finally got a headache free day - hope it continues that way day after day after day. Just relax and have a glass of wine, close your eyes and let C massage your head.

Yesterday we went over to do some kitty cuddling at the Humane Society. They need someone to come and clean kennels on Thursday morning. She was pushing but not hitting me over the head with a I said I need to spend some time socializing to see if the cats bothered me (I am allergic to cats - mostly the long hair ones - but that will never make me avoid kitties because I love them too much). Sure enough after about 30 minutes in the room I started sneezing and got congested. Biggest problem is that thanks to the meth heads - the best allergy medicine makes the best meth apparently and the over the counter stuff doesn't work nearly as good as my Actifed once did. I like something I can take as I need it because my allergies only bother me once in a while. We both had a nice time with the cats, came home without any although I think we are just on the cusp of adopting one or two. As we were leaving we passed by Momma cat and her 7 babies who were in one of those carpeted tree type stands. 4 kittens were just peeking over the edge looking at us. They could not have been more adorable if they tried. Even I will say that 8 cats is too much in one house. And how can you separate Momma from her kids???

After that we stopped at the library - I got some 80's music CDs to listen to and DH got 2 more books to read. We showered and got dressed (if you can call jeans and a clean sweater dressed ) for dinner. Went to our favorite Steak place where DH had his ahi tuna and I had crab stuffed walleye. Yes, we are fish people, even at a steak place. Actually I usually get the same thing and I decided that I'm going to sample different stuff there.

We then went to the casino where I proceeded to lose my allotment. I was getting pretty bummed as everyone around me and I mean everyone was winning. I played my last 20 dollars and finally hit on a machine that was paying off. I was able to make back all the money I had lost during the evening. Decided to quit while I was even and went to the craps table to find DH who was not having much luck either. He cashed in his chips and I told him to play 20 on my lucky machine. He started winning after about 5 hits. He got up to 50 dollars and then he got down to $37 and was debating about quitting while he was still ahead. I said to be patient because the machine ran in short cycles. He kept on playing. Didn't take much longer and he hit the bonus games - where you make the real money. He walked away with $160 on his 20 dollar investment. I told him that sometimes it pays off not to quit while you're ahead When he went to cash his ticket, I put $20 in and got $50 in 10 minutes of playing so I walked out of the casino 30 dollars ahead. Not bad fo 3 hours of play. Got home around 11pm and I was awake so I listened to music until 2:30am. DH got up, was cold so I gave him another blanket and went to bed myself.

Today there are motorcycle races on the frozen lake about a half mile from here. We can hear the engines from inside the house here. The poor turkeys are freaking out at the scary strange noises in their little forest. DH was going to go watch the races but I said I was not interested - too cold to sit outside for me. He said he wasn't sure if he was going to go even tho he was interested in them up to this point. He was sort of onery this morning. I think some of this medicine does this to him although he will vehemently deny it (see onery). Anyway I have the place to myself and I'm going to make the most of it. We are supposed to get some crappy weather tomorrow - one to five inches of snow, ice and sleet - glad I can hunker down and we don't have to go anywhere. I am set for groceries and outside of gassing up the car which I hope DH does while he is out today, nothing outside of the house that needs doing. So I guess I'd better get off the computer and get busy. Have a good weekend ladies - stay warm and comfy and enjoy your warm weekend too Shad.
