Hello everyone.
Michelle – So nice you can take the doggies with you on your weekend getaway. Glad the extra website work is coming through to help you in your time of need! Glad to hear the extra exercise and other physical activity is going well for you and your back!
Annie – How did dd’s dr appt go? Hope all is well. Sorry to hear about Butter. So heartbreaking to hear about the plight of people like Glen, unless you have a heart of stone, sure you’d get emotional. That Rapture guy must really be something else to lead people to do what they did – quitting jobs, committing suicide. Horrible. And now he changes the date, stringing people along. I hope people come to their senses about him. Jerky drivers! Ignore them!
Happy – Sounds like some storm you had the other day! I made it to the train station on my bike this morning before the rain really got going, but had to walk in the downpour once I got downtown. My slacks below the knee were soaked! Thunder & lightning too, but no hail. Re Harry Potter – all the women in the movie group and book club have kids, so depending on their ages, many would have gone to the HP movies with their kids. As for books – since it was a whole series of books (LONG books I hear), I doubt it would have been brought up as a book club choice. So…what’s the difference between a regular tv antenna and a digital one? Guess I’d tune in to TBL to see what the changes are. I’m sure there will be no change to the amount of drama – don’t like that.
Ceejay – I was concerned too after hearing about Joplin – 75 miles away from Springfield, MO. So glad it didn’t strike there! Glad you spoke up to the co-worker re the rant – with those long hours, listening to that is just not something you want to do after a long workday. So sad about the bird losing her egg and nest!
Drive safely tomorrow.
Shad – Ah, there are at least three of us on the outside of the Harry Potter book & movie world!
Mel – I may be completely uninformed because I watch practically no news and listen to only a bit more than that, but I know if I were spending time watching coverage of all the tragedies – tornado and tsunami/earthquake devastation, etc. I’d probably be a complete basketcase because they are so horrible and the stories are so sad. Glad things have been quiet around the building – “no news is good news”. Oh I hope your back problem isn't serious -take care!!
Ellen - glad you got to the doctor, got the meds rx to get you feeling better.
Didn’t leave work early yesterday to get to the earlier exercise class, and I skipped the later one as well. I’m such a slacker! Tonight’s a hair appointment. Tomorrow & Sat. morning will be Circuit classes. Looking forward to Friday - the office closes a couple hours early, so that’s nice.
I think our lockset problem isn’t as difficult to remedy as we originally thought because the part we need is available – except bf wants to try and salvage the old one so that we don’t have to worry about having a smaller strike plate than we have now and having to re-paint the door. I don’t think painting the door would be pleasant, but it actually needs it already, so I think we should replace that old lockset with a new one.
The other manager finally got terminated yesterday. I think all the details had already been determined, so it was probably anticlimactic for her - just signing a "separation letter". When the mgr told me (after lunch) that it was probably going to be her final day, she seemed somewhat relieved, since she said the environment had gotten steadily worse. Who needs that when the outcome is a foregone conclusion? I’ll miss her and hope to stay in touch with her.
Okay, I’ve been trying to finish this all afternoon, so I’m going to get this posted NOW.
