BELIVE IT OR NOT I AM DONE FOR THE DAY UNLESS SOMEONE CALLS ME. APPARENTLY JOHN ACTUALLY DID CALL ANOTHER MAN AND LEFT HIM A LIST OF THINGS THAT NEEDED DOING ON MONDAY. SO I LEFT BEFORE ANYONE ARRIVED!
OVER THE WEEKEND I MADE A SHOPPING LIST OF FOODS MORE EASILY DIGESTED AND BETTER FOR MY "PLUMBING". I REALLY NEED TO STICK WITH THESE CHANGES. DON'T KNOW WHY I INSIST ON GOING BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF FORWARDS
BUT FOR NOW....IT'S TIME FOR SOME BREAKFAST AND EXERCISE. NOTHING ELSE TO DO THIS WEEK WITH ALL THE RAINY DAYS PREDICTED.

SHAD....NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE THE POWER....YOU HAVE THE RCIPE!! THE HANGING BASKETS SOUNDED NICE AND I LOVE THE COLORS IDEA. GO TEAM GO YOU GOT A LOT DONE. GREAT IDEA WITH THE SHREDDED PAPER. I'LL HAVE TO ASK AROUND AND SEE IF SOMEONE NEARBY CAN USE SOME. THANKS.

HAPPY...I HOPE THE WORK ON THE HOUSE AND THE CONTRACTORS GOES WELL AND IS EASIER THAN YOU FEAR. SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE SHOULD BE DOING THINGS ON TIME BEING AS HOW so annieMANY NEED THE MONEY HAVE A GREAT WEEK SORTING. WHEN IN DOUBT...TOSS IT OUT!!

ANNIE...YES I AGREE WITH SHAD...TIME WITH THE KIDS CAN BE SHORT...UNLESS LIKE JEN....THEY ONLY MOVE ONE FLOOR AWAY

I'm at work this morning so this will be brief.

Mel
Don't work to hard today. Did you take the cattle prod with you?

Happy
I found a sun roof Saturday that I didn't know I had. I guess I need to inspect the cars more thouroughly before they are purchased. Their are some other gadgets that I have no earthly idea as to what their function is. The salesman mainly showed me the main operation.

This will be short, happy Monday all.....baby boy soldier is still here so we are going over to visit with dad.

Ceejay..congrats on the new car...I know you are LOVIN' it. When you get 30 minutes, take the manual out and sit in your car and fiddle till you figure it out!

Chelle...great endorphins...you go girl. You CAN and WILL do this....time, it all takes time...

Shad...Be sure to take a very big stick with you to poke at annoying people who bother you at work. I am jealous of your outside adventures with the garden and flowers...black and whites need to get to bloomin for the Indy 500.

Happy...If you have used something in over a year or more PITCH it out. I know you want me to come help you with all of that...it IS my favorite thing to do...clean and pitch.

Ellen..so glad DH helped you with laundry, altho I know with all the kiddos you probably have Mt. Washmore again already.

MELLIE...short work day, good for you! Take phone off of the hook..hence no calls and a MELLIE day....

Laura...we have sun shining at the moment, don't hold your breath as I am sure it will turn to rain before long....hope your day is going well. Never understood people trying to beat a train....had a GF, just after graduating HS, was riding with her BF and son. The BF tried to beat the train and they were all killed. Such tragedy. DUMB dumb dumb.

Hope everyone has a splendid day...oh and SHAD...I watched a VERY long movie over the weekend called "Shiralee" with Bryan Brown (don't know him), about an Australian Frontier. Based on a book by D'Arcy Niland. A friend at work let me borrow it, her friend in Australia sent it to her. I liked it a lot...different, but I liked it.

Anyway, have a bright sunshiny day.

Love and Hugs

Hi ladies -

The weekend started out great. The rock/gem/fossil show was great. Then on Saturday night, it all went to h*ll. We got into a big fight Saturday night that carried over into Sunday. It started over something so stupid, a broken drain pipe under the kitchen sink. And then it just escalated. Things were said by both of us. It made for an unhappy birthday for DH, which I feel awful about. It's not how I want him to remember his 50th birthday. I'm working from home today so I could be here when the plumber arrived. DH is very handy, but when the house was built, the plumbing for our sink was installed in a really convuluted way. The plumber is here now, and it was going really well, but now it appears that have encountered another leak.

Yesterday afternoon DH and I did some work in the yard. I mowed the front and back yards and he put together my 4'x4' garden bed. Today, during my lunch break, I'll be out pulling dandelions. Luckily, we have nifty tool for that so I don't have to do any bending. I also need to add some mulch to my containers and get my veggies planted.

Depending on how my back feels after I do my gardening "workout", I have an appt to do chair Zumba this afternoon, and then water aerobics this evening.

DH and I are okay now...we talked it out and then hugged and "kissed and made up".

**********************

Mel - I'm so glad you had a relaxing weekend. Bummer that the sinus problems made you cancel your movie date with Jen and Richie, but at least you got the chicken sammies! Good for John for calling in a backup so you're off the hook for today.

Happy - Good for you for de-junking the spare bedroom! I think I need to do that with the majority of our house. It is frustrating that you often get a much bigger mess than when you started.

Ceejay - Sounds like you had a nice weekend. for doing both cardio and weights! You go, girlfriend! Too funny about finding the sunroof you didn't know you had! I hope you find other fun gadgets that you can enjoy.

Shad - Good for you for getting so much accomplished over the weekend! And so nice that you have takers for the shredded papers! Now you're back to the crazy work week. Love the color scheme for your hanging baskets! Since Wisconsin doesn't have a team in the Rugby World Cup, I'll root for NZ!

Laura - It was a chilly weekend. And Saturday was so darn rainy/drizzly. I was thankful that the weekend ended up sunny, if a bit chilly with the wind. Sorry to hear that your Sunday was still cold, dreary and rainy. What an awful train accident! I'm with Annie...I just don't understand how some idiots are in such a hurry and try to beat the train! It's craziness! I hope you get over your cold soon. I'm sure the dramatic change in weather didn't help.

Annie - My DH and I used to like Nascar, but we now prefer Indy racing...or better yet, drag racing. One of these years, DH wants to go to the big drag race in Indy. Too funny about you mistaking your daughter the hamburglar for a burglar! I'm really proud of you that you actually relaxed and watched TV on Saturday and you even took a nap on Sunday! Seriously, I'm really glad that you took the time to give your body the rest and relaxation it obviously needed. As for Icy Hot, I think we've all done the same thing!

Ellen - I'm so glad to hear that your kids helped with the cleaning and your DH did the laundry and folding while you were at work!

Time for this chick to get back to work!

Lots of love and many hugs to all,

Am I the only one who thinks this site is a bit draggy slow the last few days?

Whomever is closest to Michelle- would yah go and strap that girl down????? Seriously Missy don't you think gardening, then chair Zumba then an hour of water aerobics is a bit much for one day? I'm sorry you and DH had a fight on his birthday. Glad you made up. Messy, twisty pipes - one of the joys of the secret stuff you find out after you bought the house.

Annie - I'm sure that DH would love your clean and pitch philosophy. Me, I find it annoying that I go off to work to come home and find mysteriously tied up garbage bags in the garage. It's like I lose twice. I blame Mom for ingraining in me that it's almost a sin to throw away things that still have value to them. And a bit of the hippy part about not clogging up landfills.

Actually I had to laugh. They are opening a new Habitat for Humanity store down here and are accepting donations. We have a couple of those "starving artist" oil paintings we used to have in our living room which we replaced with the Thomas Kinkades. I told DH we could drop off the paintings as well as the old light fixtures from the remodelled bath - still good and working but not needed any more. I figured I met my compromise of recycling and getting things out of the house. Now DH who was one to pitch everything is like wait... I could take a picture and put it on Craig's List and try and sell it.

Ceejay - heck with the manual - just look at that big sticker on the car window with the price. That will tell you all the bells and whistles in your new car. Good luck figuring out how to work the stereo system

Mel - how nice to have John taking care of things even if he's not there. Get out while you can. AND if you EVER figure out how to overcome falling back into the bad habits again and again, please let me know because I could use alot of help with that one.

I looked back but am not seeing the part about Shad and her basked colors.

To the right of my PC page is an ad for Jillian Michaels. Boy have they photoshopped that picture!!!! Added more ripped lines, put her in a sexy sport bra, gave her cleavage and sex me up Farah Fawcett hair. Maybe I should just stop trying to lose weight and instead photoshop me up

So get this with the worker guys. They were supposed to be at the house between 8:30 and 10. They showed up at 10:30 (had called that they were running late). Walked in, took the storm window off and said they needed another piece of backer board, we going to the store for supplies and said they'd be back tomorrow. That's it. 10 FREAKIN' MINUTES! I am carrying on and on and I know DH wishes I would stop but this is exactly what I was afraid of. There is very little actual work - in my humble opinion - DH is finishing the plumbing to the tub, will install the toilet himself, is doing all the electrical work AND he scraped down the textured ceiling. These guys are supposed to put in the tile floor, add a bit more wallboard to what DH removed to do the plumbing, tile in the area around the tub, build a vanity cabinet and linen closet, lay in a granite counter top and undermount sink, attach the faucet, paint the walls and replace the woodwork trim around the window and the doorway that DH had to cut to get the original tub and tile out. This they think will take 3 weeks of work. If they only work 10 minutes a day - this will take a year to complete! I told the foreman we had a time line and I am harping on DH to harp on them to get this finished in 3 to 4 weeks. We will see how it goes. I don't have a good feeling about this. Also they are going to paint the cabinets in a finish that I personally find repulsive (glazing). I have seen it in other houses and hated it every time I saw it. The contractor fought with me and dissed every single idea I had. I am trying to step away from this and just get it done for done's sake and get the heck out of here.

So that's my rant for the morning. Lunch is over and I'd better get back to work.

Hey everyone. Clear and sunny here today, but still chilly & windy. Just taking my cold meds and working away. I have almost all the info I need for one of my big projects, so I hope to finish compiling it and get it sent out soon. Then it's back to my other big project and all the lesser tasks. It never ends. Except for the nasal congestion, I generally feel alright, so I'm going to my step class tonight.

Plumbers left in record time. It took them less than 2 hours, and it only cost $145 which included parts and labor!

Happy - I just love it when you have time for long posts!! As for strapping me down...I'm going to do that to myself. I'm going to take my lunch break in a bit and go to WalMart. Then after work, I'm going to chair Zumba and then do some gardening. My mom passed down the keep it 'till it's worn out philosophy too...as well as the "collecting" gene. I do have to take Annie's clean and pitch philosophy when I go through all the cluttered rooms/closets. I'm sure there'll be lots of bags and boxes going to Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul (aka St. Vinnies). Loved your description of the Jillian photoshopped photo! I've seen that photo too. It's amazing how Photoshop used properly can give a person cleavage and six-pack abs. Too bad your workers aren't like my plumbers...in and out in less than 2 hours, including a 20-25 min. trip to the store to get a couple parts that weren't on their truck. That's awful that they're not giving your work the time or attention you deserve, and they're fighting with you on finishes. I can totally understand how fed up you're feeling and how you just want it done. Hang in there, my friend. It sounds like it's going to be a long 4 weeks.

Laura - I'm glad you're feeling well enough to do step class tonight!

Chelle...amen, you are DH are actually a normal couple....first time I have heard of a disagreement like that between you two......my xdh and I used to fight like that daily....he would come home and start it then leave...the leave part was the very best. OK...I have asked off of CVS AND HUMANA for from July 2 thru 10, of course Humana is paid, CVS not. I am available whomever wants me as I have no plans...I cook, clean and do lots and lots of yard work...heck I will even pitch crap from your house while YOU go shopping or exercising or to the park, library, relatives, etc etc....just get the H*LL out of my way! lol

Happy....I am not the closest to Chelle, but I think I have offered enough to go strap her down that I volunteer to do it. lol....not to sound discriminating, but I think you have hired a bunch of union workers, scabs usually bust *ss. So do a few others I know of....I think you need to enlist SHAD to come over and rule the work....she will certainly set them straight. FRUSTRATING to say the least.

Laura...sunny, cloudy, sunny, cloudy.....a little chilly 53 degrees, but still above freezing and no snow or rain....I will take it....good for you going to step class....I admire anyone who does any type of exercising, as I certainly do not.

Baby boy and I hung out all day...well after he got up at 11 am....he gave me strict orders not to wake him. He slept on the couch cause he thinks it is so comfortable. I had to keep Hella B in the bedroom with me until he got up....keep in mind I have no TV right now as I had my cable shut off because I am switching to Uverse on Friday. What a boring morning, I quietly got me a cup of INSTANT coffee, the basket of towels out of the dryer and let HB out to potty, (7 am) then went back into the bedroom and went crazy...thinking of all the stuff I could of been doing. Folded towels, took my shower, plucked my eyebrows, watch the Endeavor launch, make up, hair, dressed and waited. Holy cow! Like waiting in a doctors office for the later than ever doctor with no book to read. D*MN. Once BB got up, we went and got his hair cut (head shaved), lunch at Cracker Barrell (yummy pinto beans and salad and the iced tea there is awesome tasting), then to Dad's for a visit. Got back to the house at 4 pm....BB headed back to the sticks..boo who who...I went and got gas for the mower and cut the grass....here I sit. That is about it for me.

Sweet Dreams/Good Morning!! loves and hugs

Morning all,

First - Happy and DH, who is actually paying for this job? Who's house is it? and who is trying to upgrade for a decent selling price? I watched a Holmes on Homes last night about the very same thing. Some kind of floor finish over tiles which was trowelled off to resemble broken and badly laid concrete. The guy thought he did a wonderful job - his boss said so too. Unfortunately for them the family only put down a $500 deposit and refused to pay more until the floor was finished to satisfaction. They never heard from the 'decorators' again! Yes well that speaks for itself.

Michelle - Wisconsin may not have a team in the Rugby World Cup (starting in NZ in I think August or September) but the USA does. I'm not unhappy about you cheering for NZ (as long as you don't cheer for Australia) but you might do well to look at your own (not bad looking) team. Sorry to hear about the fight over the weekend. It happens and it is never good. Glad you've made up again.

Annie - Clean and pitch. Well that is what I am trying to do with the shredded paper, get rid of all those out of date training manuals and clear out the office of all old stuff. There seems to be stuff coming out of the woodwork in there. Aaaargh. And I can't just pitch it willy nilly. There is tax stuff in there that needs to be kept for x number of years. I have to go through it. Better sort out a decent filing system maybe.

Ceejay - interesting when we buy a new car. We keep finding things for weeks afterwards - sometimes years. Enjoy the sensation. I'm a little closer to finding my new car, but I doubt that it will be here before I go away training.

Laura - hope you managed the step class okay. It's always hard when you can't breathe properly. But you will sweat out some of the nasties - ensure you drink plenty of water.

Mel - a rest day! Yeehaa. It's about time. And good on John for doing some planning ahead. Well done to him. Those chicken sangers sounded really nice.

Okay - I gotta go and get on with it. While I still like my job, it seems that the planning and organisation is starting to go haywire. There are some very unhappy and overworked people around. One of the problems is the bonus given to the so called 'runners and movers' of the project. They get a bonus if it comes in on time. Some one should amend that to 'on time and in full'. I have 2 manuals yet to write or even start and there is 46 days to go live - thirty of which will be spent on the road. Ready??? I don't think so.
