Talking Simply Sunny Sunday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a beautiful sunny day here in the Heartland. The decals look so trick on the Jeep. He did a bang up job on that Jeep crawling up over the Rubicon lettering. He also said they should last for 8 to 10 years. I had 7 more dings today on that debit card so I called the issue place and they are shutting down that card and transfering what money I told them was being put back on it from that other company and I will get it in 7 to 10 days. I am sure they had a way of checking if I was telling the truth about that money being put back on because they didn't hesitate to say they would transfer it over to a new card. Those money card folks are real nice to deal with and efficient. Before I load any money from now on I'll check if there was any action on the card and if so I'll just get a new one and start over. I will get a new one every couple months anyway. I only load the amount of money that I want to use right then anyway. Those creeps out there are quick. We got some veggie plants today that will go in the garden and some creeping low lying flowering plants that I don't have the name for that will go nicely in the front beds under the windows. AH Spring is here.

DONNA FAYE You were certainly an early riser. Poor little Fortune not up to snuff. You are such a good mommie to him. Our two are out and about this day frolicking in the sun. Beanie especially loves outside. Bet your hair is great. I get mine cut on Monday then I will color it.

JEAN We are avoiding the hoopla on the TV. Summertime again and fun at the lake has its cost doesn't it. Repairs. But what fun you will have with your family there.

GAIL & SUSAN Hope your Saturday is going well. Fun in the sun.

Have a lovely afternoon Magnolias. Type at y'all later. It is almost 2:30 and I need to rustle up some lunch.

Good evening, ladies!Only in the 60s today, but a lovely day.

I have roses blooming and the strawberry farm had an ad in the paper today that they are ready to pick. YUM! I went and did a little shopping with my friend this afternoon. We haven't done anything in a while so it was good to catch up.

Faye, poor Fortune! I'm sure that doggy yogurt will cost 10x the people variety. Here you are all beautiful with your new hair cut and color - Jack should take you to dinner tonight!

Jean, it seems like you just closed the cabin at the lake and here it's time to get it ready to open again! Time goes so fast.

Maggie, I always thought the terrorists could shut this country down without firing a shot by getting into the credit and debit cards. I'm glad they are taking care of it for you without a fuss.

Hi, Gail!

Have a great evening.

Talking Back To Yack

GOOD EVENING MAGNOLIAS

We had such a nice day. Got some veggies planted in the garden and hopefully they will all survive. Corn, zuchini, bell peppers, & tomatoes today. More in the ground as we get them. I have been reading over the material the local WW leader sent out that WW put out PDF file "Getting The Most Out of eTools" which has been quite helpful navigating that web site. I printed it all out and have it in a nice folder. If any of you want it I can e-mail it to you. AH we had such a good dinner. Rib steaks and baked sweet potatos.

SUSAN YUM fresh strawberries. Ours are going to put out some good ones but not just yet. We have been getting some excellent ones from the market. What fun to meet up with a friend and do some cathcing up. I think the ones that tried charging on my debit card were teens by what they tried to purchase. Starting young to be ciber criminals. Seasoned crooks don't bother with debit cards for they want cards with big balances worth their taking from them. They are rather like the folks that rob homes ~ they will hit 3 times then off to the next victim. When I worked in the system I found out the "ins and outs" of how they operated.

Everyone have a lovely day which the Lord hath made on the morrow.

Maggie -- Bob's farmer friend checked his garden soil temperature and it's only 40 degrees; it's in sunshine all day long so is too cold to plant yet. I wonder why your first post doubled but not your last one.

Susan -- I can almost smell your roses. Our strawberries have been very good lately. I'd like to try growing cucumbers in a pot but not sure how that will work if it is a vine type plant. I'm trying to talk Bob into having his brother help paint the cabin trim when he comes back this summer. It seems like there is always something to fix, clean, or replace when we head for the cabin.

Hope you all have a good nights sleep and enjoy your day tomorrow.

Good morning to you ladies. This dog is going to be the death of me! He didn't eat all day, I gave him three different kinds of food to try and I finally got him to eat some vanilla yogurt with his kidney meds in it. I have been wasting that stuff putting it in his food, etc and the stuff is expensive. It is powder so you can't just chuck it down his throat. I made him spoonful of yogurt with his kidney meds in it this morning and he turned his nose up at it. I finally got him to eat about 1/3 can of another dog food so he did get something in his tummy yesterday, but he went and sniffed the same stuff this morning and walked away. He usually scarfs it down. Guess it will just take time. I know one thing until I see him eat regular, I am going to back off the kidney meds because it is just being thrown away and not ingested anyway. He is taking his Flagyl ok though so we are fighting the infection.

Woohoo, the IT guy at Adobe and Jack got my IE working again and with flash player so it is now back to normal, no bugs, virus and whatnot and my flash player is picking up videos again and such.

Did I tell you Jackson was is in a commercial for a local nursery in Indiana? They were doing an arbor day thing handing out trees and they are Jay's client at the tv station so they put Jackson in the commercial checking out some pine needles then helping a little girl plant a tree seedling. He is on for about 10 seconds seems like, but he did his part perfectly. Guess he is my new superstar!

Have mercy it is another thunderstorm and heavy rains this morning. Here is a picture of the driveway of the biggest hospital complex in Memphis. You can't get into the hospital but only one way. This flooding is caused by a tributary river and not the Mississippi directly. The Wolf river runs into the most expensive housing areas in the city and is making a real mess of things. Supposedly it had gone down yesterday but with this hard rain again this morning and it is supposed to keep this up for three days again we are likely to have a lot more trouble. There is a high school across the street from Baptist hospital and it's football stadium is partly underwater. It is just a huge mess here.

On a brighter front, I get to see my Thomas today and get filled in on all his doings since I talked to him last. We haven't seen the kids since they got back from their cruise. Kelly has been gone the whole time in Canada.

Jean: We went to the commissary yesterday and expected farmland to be underwater as the Loosahatchie river runs right through the farmland out there, but it is muddy in places, but I saw one farmer had gotten his field planted and had soybean shoots coming up. Several have not been able to get in their fields though because the ground is way to wet for the tractors. You know, I have always thought that Charles got sort of a bad rep and not all of it his fault exactly. I am not saying that poor young woman had it easy, but the fact is, I think the ole Queen and Prince put the screws to Charles and told him, "Listen, you are over 40, the woman you want is MARRIED, you need an heir, find a wife." I think he found a nice young woman and married her and kept it all from her. That is not to say I think he isn't a totally dud as you call him, I just think that he loved Camilla and was forced to marry someone he didn't love. Also, Diana was much younger and he is much like his father, staid, boring, very proper English! On her side of it, she was a fairly fragile individual and just couldn't ride the storm of Camilla being in the middle of their marriage all the time. A lot of royals except the affairs of their partners and just go with the flow so to speak, but I think she really loved him and it hurt her when she figured out that he never really loved her and had this thing for Camilla all along. It is not the British way to be up front about stuff like that and I think that's where the whole mess started. I thought the Beckham woman was a total snotty, arrogant person at the wedding. You see pictures of her and her nose looks like it is hooked into an invisiable hook in the air!

Susan: I use Feria hair brand and the red colors are really vibrant reds because they have a little tube of this red enhancer stuff. Only problem is, you take off the cap and the stuff starts oozing out immediately and you end up with this red stuff all over the place. I have gotten more carely, but I still had it all over my fingers before I could get it in the bottle. It is a pretty color on the hair when it is finished though and my hair takes color so well. I paid a fortune for fruit even at the commissary yesterday. I bought two half pint boxes and they were 6$ of raspberrys and blueberrys. The strawberries weren't so bad and I am hoping the oranges I bought are decent this time. I am going to Fresh market after having lunch with the kids and round out my fruit. My azaleas bloomed hugely and have died already. They don't stick around!

Maggie: Glad Beanie is back to his ole self. I personally think the company that issued your debit card was wrong not to close it off immediately and issue you another one under another number and just transfer the funds. They had to know whomever was doing this would continue it as long as they could get it to go through. I am sorry you are having to deal with this. Having your money stolen, even if you do get it back, makes you feel so violated.

Well gals, I am going to unload the dishwasher and work on the sock so I can get the other one going and get it done. Have a beautiful Sunday all! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! The sun is shining brightly and it's windier than ever in my neighborhood. Bob left an hour ago for the lake and I'm skipping church this morning. There is a training meeting this afternoon and the minister wanted Bob to go with him -- not what Bob wanted to do at all.

"Gma" -- I hope Fortune will eventually eat his yogurt med; do you mix it in or sprinkle it on top of the food? I remember trying to poke tranquilizers down a cat and then trying to switch her to a new cat food when she got older. She had her own ideas about both and I'm thinking she won more battles than we did. I'm glad Jack was able to get your computer innards fixed for you. I'm surprised there is only one entrance to that hospital; that doesn't seem very practical at all. I'll bet Jackson got a kick out of being on tv. I know you will enjoy your time with Thomas and his family today! What kind of hat did the Bechman woman wear? I don't think I saw her but maybe I did and didn't recognize her.

I'm not dressed yet so guess that is my next step. I need to vacuum the dust and fur bunnies that have multiplied in the sunshine. I also need to work on the ironing pile; I have a brunch tomorrow morning and would like to wear something that's "springy" -- the search is on! Enjoy your day today!

Jean -- from Iowa!

Talking Simply Sunny Sunday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a chilly 54 degree day here in the Heartland with only a slight breeze this day. We have decided to start eating at home more and not go out so much so we came home from church and had some of those delicious burritos that I had frozen. Eating at home more will help my program and our pocket book also. Tomorrow we get our hair cut and I have my blood drawn. Next day, Tuesday, we go see a friend in the hospital in a different town so I will put a roast in the crock pot for dinner that day.

DONNA FAYE I certainly hope that you can get your little doggie to take his meds and eat some food. Little scudder doesn't understand that he needs to eat to keep up his strength to fight off what it is that is bothering him. I am so happy for you that you got your computer problem worked out. You have a celebrity in your family. You go little Jackson. How neat he got to be in a commercial. I remember how excited I was as a kid to be on TV. How neat for him.

JEAN Did you find a nice spring type outfit to wear? Don't you just love spring. My real first name means Spring and my middle name mens Waterfall ~ least that is what I have been told. I sure hope we do have a Spring here and it doesn't just jump into Summer like it did last year. When you said the wind was blowing I kinda already knew it ~ looked into the eagles today? I think they are holding onto the nest with their talons.

GAIL & SUSAN A good day to the two of you. Hope things are going well with you.

Type at y'all later.

Good afternoon, ladies! Overcast today and only in the 60s.

We have nuclear power plant in Surry, right on the James River and near here and the headline in the paper today was "Could Surry Surive a Tornado? Here's how they did it!" The tornado that did so much distruction April 16 had also hit the plant, the reactors lost power but the backup generators kicked right on. There was a lot of damage to the power station and a storage shed, but none to the reactors. They called everyone in and had everything back on line within 12 hours.

We had an Archbishop from the Vatican celebrate Mass with us this morning. He spoke impecable English. Father Mike had actually met and spoken with Pope John Paul II. Since he is being beatified in the Church this day, it was interesting to have him tell us about it.

Maggie, thanks for the May Calendar. I was just thinking how simple it would be to copy down one of the debit card numbers and then put it back and then keep trying until it was sold and there was money on it. Scary! You'll have a lovely garden for sure.

Jean, it seems only right that everyone who uses the cabin should do some of the maintenance on it, without being asked. Crops are in and up about a foot. Farmers are hoping for a bumper cotton crop while the price is so high.

Faye, I hope you enjoyed your day with Kelly and her family. Thomas is sure to be a super star when he is an adult. He has already accomplished so much.

Time to do a little reading. Have a blessed Sunday.

Maggie -- The wind has died down finally, and the sun is still shining! Ernie is camped by the back door watching the black birds clean out the bird feeders. The ducks will come and clean up leftovers in the grass. Eating out is getting to be more expensive like everything else. I've gotten so I just order water because it is free, so far. It bugs me to pay $2.00 for a cup of coffee or tea when beverages cost the least amount to serve. I have a couple of different outfits I could wear tomorrow depending on what the weather decides to do. So, what is your "real" name and how did you find out what it means? I haven't checked email today, but thank you for the calendar also.

Susan -- We just take our gas, electricity, and water for granted until something happens that they aren't available. I'm glad the reactors were ok and power back on asap. The pictures on tv are just unbelievable, so sad. I'll bet the Archbishop was interesting today. It's always nice to enjoy something different once in awhile. The problem with the cabin is that Bob's dad took care of the repairs and his mom "ruled the roost" so to speak, since they were the only ones to use it the most; they lived there from May through September. When anyone would come to visit all they had to do was maybe set the table or dry dishes, otherwise just enjoy the lake activities. When his dad died Bob more or less took over the repair duties because we are the only ones living close. Now that his mom is gone, he has told his siblings they are welcome to come any time (since they each own 1/4 of her 2/3), but we are not going to be in charge while they are there nor do we plan to move in while they are there. We just found out his AZ brother may be losing a foot. He is diabetic and a year ago started having a tingling sensation on the bottom of his feet after playing golf or tennis. He went from doctor to doctor and one gave him a cortisone shot. The next morning his foot was the size of a football and had split open on the top. It won't heal and he has been to specialist after specialist. Anyhow, he won't be coming back for sure and Bob's sister (who has MS) won't travel that far alone. His MT brother, wife, son, and dil plan to come back sometime in July but their plans aren't set in stone either. Bob wants them to just enjoy the lake and not worry about doing "chores." Our farmers are chomping at the bit to get in the fields -- probably tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

Good morning! Oh, for corn's sakes it is raining here this morning and quite heavily I might add. I told Jack yesterday I was sick of this darn gloomy weather and want

We had a lovely time with the kids yesterday. Thomas and I ate our fill of chocolate covered strawberries and cold shrimp. He took an oyster on the half shell but must have chickened out because he didn't eat it. He ate a big piece of catfish though and some other stuff. They had some terrific food and I stupidly ate a serving of bananas foster because they hadn't put a new pan of bread pudding out and the stuff there was the burnt bottom. It gave me a tummy ache. Excessive sugar and ice cream sometimes doesn't do very well with me and I didn't feel up to snuff the rest of the day. I am ok now and going to be having some multi grain blueberry eggos with fruit on top and yogurt for breakfast in a little while.

I can't believe they finally killed that dirtbag Bin Laden. Hail to our Navy Seals they got the job done again. He can now roommate with Hitler in ****!! I was up late last night trying to finish this sock and looked at a celebrity news site and it had breaking news. I thought it was a joke at first so I went into yahoo and aol and stuff to get a better story and see if it were really true. Boy, if I were president Pakistan would have a LOT to be explaining about. I mean, how can you not notice a compound that has 18 foot high concrete walls with barbed wire and only 10 feet from one of your military acadamies. I think I would put the screws to Pakistan and tell them in no uncertain terms you are either with us or against us and this shows you are against us so beware all bets are off.

Jack just called me and said they have now started pumping the water into the Mississippi. The cleaned water goes through pipes at a decline into the river so gravity takes over, but the plant is next to the river which is over flood stage and not allowing the water to exit so they have to pump it now, which means the plant is going to 2 twelve hour shifts until the river goes back to normal. He said he wants to take the 7pm to 7 am shift, which should be interesting for me for awhile. Looks like it will start today as they are having a meeting in just a few minutes. If so, Jack will be coming home and starting tonight. I guess that means I will have to clean upstairs today and leave downstairs until tomorrow so that he can sleep when he gets home. It will be like he was back in the Navy!

Susan: Oh, I bet it was exciting to have someone of his caliber in your church. Jack and I were watching a program about protection of the pope on some channel over the weekend and we were discussing who trained his security staff (he has bodyguards like the secret service) I wonder if they were trained by the Americans. They act just like our secret service and wear suits and stuff, you know. It was real interesting. They had a part about the altar boys and what their responsibilities are and such too and that was interesting. This one sweet boy had been an altar boy for awhile, but he was having trouble keeping up with his schoolwork. I felt so sorry for him. They have huge long hours of responsibility then they have huge amounts of homework. He did decide in the end not to go into the priesthood though. I noticed when we went to the commissary on Sat that one field had little shoots of beans, but most fields are not planted because of the wet and now with these extra rain days, the Loosahatchie river is going to flood those fields I am afraid. We have heavy rain today and tomorrow yet before sun.

Jean: I agree with Susan that those "outlying" relatives should help with the cleanup and spruce up in the spring and not leave it all for Bob and Jason to do. I had diet coke for brunch yesterday and then had that bananas foster. Ugh, that just is not a match made in heaven. I think they gouge coffee drinkers. I know coffee has gone up a huge amount, but still it is mostly water! My mom was severly diabetic and lost toes and should have lost her foot as a result of diabetes but her husband wouldn't let them amputate and she died a short while later, actually. It is a horrible disease that's for sure. Oh and I apologize for not being clearer about the hospital thing. They have multiple entrances, but only one of them is not under water with the wolf river flooding.

Maggie: I did get him to eat some yesterday by bringing it into the living room, but he just sniffed at it this morning and walked away so we shall see. My main concern right now is his kidney medicine, which is powder so has to go in food and concern over there being another problem, but I think it is just going to take time to get him back on his feed. The flagyl itself can be rough on your system. It made me violently ill when I took it and had to get off of it. Our Thomas told me yesterday he was picked for AP Math next year! Little smarty pants he is.

Our dil is doing a mini marathon this next weekend in Indianapolis so I hope she does well and our dd has applied for a new job and it looks good so I hope she gets it. It is back with St Jude's and her current employer situation is rapidly becoming intolerable. She says they still owe her $2400 in travel expenses they have reimbursed her for yet. She says they don't pay for anything upfront you have to pay and they reimburse. What the heck do you do if you can't afford it for heaven's sake? I know she has a direct boss that is the "b" word big time. So I am praying she will get this new job.

I guess I better get out of here and start working. I told Jack I don't want him to come home this morning and catch me knitting or reading when I should be working so call me if he leaves the plant! Have a great day

We here in Memphis are still..... and to stay afloat! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! The sun is shining and it's 30 degrees outside -- the birds are ice skating again this morning. I was waiting for an email so thought I would pop in and see who was "up" this morning.

"Gma" -- I knew you would enjoy your time with Thomas yesterday but sorry the banana "stuff" didn't sit well. I admire Thomas for even taking an oyster let alone eating it! I hope that the majority of the troops will be coming home sooner rather than later now that OBL is dead. I just hope his followers fall apart without his leadership. I don't envy you or Jack with him changing to the night shift. Will works the night shift but it's a different schedule every week. I think I would have trouble adjusting this old body sleepwise. I hope Fortune is on the mend and will eat better for you. Keeping my fingers 'n toes crossed for the new job for Kelly!

I am ready to leave for the brunch this morning. Hope you all have a marvelous Monday!

Jean -- from Iowa!

Good morning! Y'all might as well to go get a cup of coffee, iced tea, and/or a bottle of water because this is going to be a loooong post.

Let's talk about the good stuff first. I had a wonderful Friday morning. I ran all kinds of errands and still had the time to go to WW. I lost .6 of a pound. After the meeting I ran more errands including lunch and going to the grocery store.

Everything went downhill at 3:45pm. That's right. Make note of that time. (I'm trying to insert a little humor here. Bear with me.)

The phone rang. Sometimes that's not a good thing. It was a nurse from a hospital in Va. Beach. My father-in-law was admitted through the emergency room. After talking with the nurse in ER and also with my father-in-law, Marvin, here's the story. (Also keep in mind my FIL is a very active, sharp as a tack, dance-loving 86 year-old going on irresponsible 22 year-old).

He was out in his backyard, planting tomato plants. He was kneeling. When he got up he twisted his foot in such a way that made him fall. When he fell he fractured his femur close to the knee cap. Luckily for him, the next door neighbor was outside and heard his cries for help. She phoned the rescue squad and the took him to the ER at the hospital. Meanwhile, he's worried he's going to miss that night's dancing with the 60 Plus crowd.

After trying to reach Wayne on his cell (he was in a dead zone for cell phones at the plant at the time) and after a few tries of that and leaving message and also texting him, it took me forever (it seemed that way to me) to find the phone number for his company. Finally found that and got through to Wayne which I must say they didn't leave me hanging on the phone long. By this time it's about 4:30pm. By the time, Wayne got home it was close to 6:00pm because of the terrible traffic. After he talked with his Dad, it was decided that we would go down to Va. Beach early the next morning. Marvin is being taken care of and there was nothing for us to do.

So at 5:15am on Saturday morning the alarm goes off and I jump out of bed. Getting Wayne out of bed was another story, he was so tired from working that week, he was worn out but finally managed to get going at 6:30am and we left (finally) at 7:00am. (Forgot to tell you that while Wayne was on the phone with his Dad the night before, all Marvin could talk about was that dance he's missing. Kind of annoyed the you-know-what out of Wayne as Wayne was extremely tired and all his Dad wanted to talk about was the dance...He goes to at least 5 dances a week.)

So, we're at the hospital. We speak with Marvin. They have him on pain meds. He's still talking about dancing. We learn from the nurse that he was supposed to have an operation. Marvin didn't just break a leg to have it set. Nope. Not my father-in-law. He's going to have an operation. BUT because he blood cell count was not at a good level they were giving him some blood platelets so hopefully later that afternoon he will have his operation. (Keep in mind Wayne has to be back to work on Monday--today--or he will lose his job....and his Dad is still talking about the dance he missed the night before and now he's missing the Saturday night dance with the Parents Without Partners crowd.)

Finally, at 4:30pm he going to the operating room. We talk with his anestesiologist, his surgeon (these doctors are looking younger every day) and the surgeon says that he should send the x-rays of Marvin's leg to the Smithsonian in Washington DC as he hasn't seen a worst looking knee. He said BEFORE he fractured the femur, his leg was not right and didn't know how the man could walk much less dance. And yes, the surgeon was well aware of how much dancing Marvin does. The surgeon tells us in front of Marvin that AFTER the surgery and AFTER the healing has been done he doesn't recommend Marvin dancing. Marvin mutters "Just shoot me now and get it over with."

After a two hour surgery and one hour of recovery time in the operating room, we see the surgeon again. Again, he repeats all he's told us before and tells us Marvin is in for a loooong recovery period. He will be in the hospital for 4 days. Then he will be transferred to a rehabilitation center (and if Marvin doesn't get to go to the one he wants to....it will not be a good scene) for about 3 weeks....and then he will probably be moved to an extended care facility for as long as the doctor sees fit. Marvin will have to be mobile on a walker before he can be released.

....stay tuned...I'll finish....

....to continue

They are not giving Marvin a lot of pain medicine or not as much as they would a person with a healthy heart. Because Marvin has had heart surgery (replaced an aorta valve) they have to be careful. He's also now on a cardiac diet and that didn't go well yesterday.

So now, it's Sunday morning. Off to the hospital we go with toiletries for him. I had to wash his robe and it fell apart in the washer because he hasn't washed it in ages....forget months....years he hasn't washed the thing. So I buy him another one at Sears...for $4.99 (originally $36). First of all, when he heard I bought him a new robe he went balistic even after he heard I paid $4.99. "I don't throw my money away!" (That's what he said.) I told him he needed something to cover his butt when they get him out of bed. This $4.99 plus tax was the topic of discussion for at least 30 minutes even when the nurses came in to take his vital signs--he's yelling at me and flirting with the nurses...with no teeth in his mouth. (It's okay....have a laugh. )

Marvin is still talking about when he's going to get out of the hospital. Wayne is repeating himself about the recovery process and everything. Marvin says he knows and understands what Wayne is saying but...he's not going to stop dancing. Wayne suggests to his Dad perhaps we should start talking about him moving to Delaware. Should not have said that! Marvin told us (1) he's not going to stop dancing; he'll put an Ace bandage on his knee for extra support, (2) he's not moving out of his house, (3) he's not moving to Delaware, and (4) we can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do.

So another part in this, is I woke up on Saturday morning with the beginnings of a stye in my right eye. And I'm just now getting a presciption for it this afternoon. The plan is for me to go back to Va. Beach tomorrow or Wednesday to make sure Marvin is settled into rehab...although I have nothing to do with this as the hospital/nurses take care of this and he has to be transported by ambulance. Marvin is sharp as a tack and knows the ins and outs of going to a rehabilitation center after surgery. He knows where he wants to go and I pray that there is an opening where he wants to go. Or there will be you-know-what to pay. My right eye hurts. I'm definitely not going to Va. Beach tomorrow. And Wayne just phoned from work and I may not be going down on Wednesday. Wayne is definitely going down on Saturday.

Here are the chores Wayne has been given by his Dad that must be done:

(1) cut the grass, trim the edges, and make sure the grass is swept off the driveway

(2) stop the mail

(3) bring all bills to the hospital for Marvin to pay them and then mail them off

(4) sneak food into him (remember he's on a cardiac diet)

(5) a call a list of people Marvin wants them knowing where he's at

I'm doing all I can to help Wayne. There's more to this story...but I'll save that for later. Heather, our oldest daughter volunteered to go down to Va. Beach to clean her grandpa's house, but we told her no. She doesn't own a hazmat suit.

Lovely.

Talking Marvelous Monday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a bright day here in the Heartland. First off ~ I am a realy happy camper! I showed a loss of 3 pounds this morning at weigh in which brings me to just 2 tenths of a pound to show a 70pound loss. I am a verry happy camper. We have been out and about and now are back. I went in early to have my blood drawn then some lunch then hair cuts. Mine is short, short and spikey on top. Nice summer do. Since the wind blows so much around here I wanted a do that would work easy. Since the wind isn't blowing fiercely today Will is out spraying the weeds that came up in the back lawn. I think I still have time to cook a roast in the crock pot for dinner. Beanie has started a real cute behavior. When we go out to go somewhere Will picks up Ragg Mopp then opens the gate and walks to the Jeep and deposits him in the back. Meanwhile Beanie runs along beside Will as he is loading Ragg Mopp. Then ~ Beanie runs back to the backyard and sits just inside the gate waiting for Will to pick him up and load him. This is a learned behavior he did on his own. What a little character.

DONNA FAYE I love chocolate covered strawberries but I can't eat many of them at one setting. But they are so good. What a fun kid Thomas is. I do hope your daughter does get that new job and her money back that she put out for travel. You stay high and dry now and away from the muddy slidey things the brings.

JEAN Are you having a nice sunny day there where you live?

SUSAN We sure are hoping that our garden will flurish this year.
Doing our best to help make that happen. Are you planting anything foodwise this year?

GAIL Girlfriend ~ you sure have your plate full during this space in time. It is good that Waynes Dad has been so active at his age. Hopefully he will be able to get back to his dancing in time. If he isn't able to ~ then I hope he doesn't make Waynes life miserable. Let the old man dance if he is able ~ is all I can say. I hope your eye clears up quickly for those can be miserable can't they. You poor dear. Thanks for posting the way of things for now we can know what you are going through. Keep us posted of the progress. Please know that my prayers are with you. I do need to say this - for your weight loss. Every bit totally counts that is lost toward your goal. Keep it up girlfriend.

OH something is in the air. I have been sneezing up a storm. I am allergic to something on the breeze. Have a great day y'all and I will type later.

Good afternoon, ladies! It's up to 75 degrees today but Faye's rain is coming my way.

I went to the Y this morning and did my water aerobics class and then followed that up with Water Zumba. 2 hours = 850 calories - 10 APs. The water Zumba schedule changed this month so I can now do that twice a week. It's lots of fun. I swear I don't know how, but I get to sweating in that class even though I'm in the water. Just housework the rest of the day.

Gail, what a story! I'll put your FIL on our prayer chain. I say at his age if he can dance, let him. It couldn't shorten his life by much. I hope your sty clears up quickly.

Faye, Stan had Flagyl several times, too, and it always made him nauceous. Nasty stuff but it does the job. I'd have had several of those chocolate covered strawberries for sure! Glad you had a good time and are feeling better.

Jean, I see why you do all the maintenance now. That's nice of Bob.

Hi, Maggie!

Enjoy your day!
