No Beer, Day 1 completed, 2 pauses left.
Stretch for at least 5 min, Day 0 completed, 2 pauses left.
Ha! Who really thought a no beer challenge could work on Super Bowl Sunday?? I'm starting fresh. Had a little bit of a stomach something yesterday. I even went running despite feeling icky, because running usually gets the old digestive track moving. (It worked, but still feeling a bit backed up today.) I stretched a bit yesterday too, but I didn't get in 5 minutes.
Red, hang in there! You can do it!!

I totally forgot about my challenge yesterday and popped a cold one when I got home from work. Need to get the stuff out of the house!!
The only good news is that I've been running a bit more (but still not stretching) I was reading on another thread and it seems that where I'm at with my running isn't going to help all that much with weight loss. Those muscles are already there and probably pretty efficient since I plod along pretty much the same every time I go. I need to do some speed work (ICK!!) and some longer runs to kick it up a notch. We'll see.
Hope every one is doing well. Derry, I hope you were able to climb out an upstairs window and ski off for supplies!!

Apple, you're doing GREAT!! I take it you took a pause on Super Bowl Sunday!...no probs. I sure would have if I hadn't been at work!
I've been a bit off track lately but not doing that bad. Will try to get back on track and in here maybe tomorrow.
Everyone else, !!

But, Apple. how did you have one completed day and then zero. I saw the first and was thinking the other was a mistake or something. The pauses didn't change....wouldn't it be Day 1 completed and 1 pause left? Or are you just starting over? I guess so. Well, it's STILL great that you're doing a challege!

I've been thinking about doing a detox thing for a while, but I've decided that it's too much work. (it involved a lot of smoothies & juices) OK, I'm lazy.
I KNOW that what I really need to do is
1: Reduce alcohol consumption to very little..
2: Eat only unprocessed foods
3: Reduce bread, rice, pasta (see #2)
4: Eat less
5. Move (But I'm pretty good at that already )
Simple, eh? Then why is it so hard!!!???
I'm going to try to track calories too, and keep it down to 1200-1500.
What's up with y'all? Lonely here....

Stretch for at least 5 min, Day 0 completed, 2 pauses left.
Wow, it's been almost 4 days with no beer and it feels like FOREVER. This week has just dragged on. The good news is I have also been able to string together a couple of good eating days, but it's also TOM so it doesn't make me feel any different. Big bloated blah blah. And I'm feeling sorry for myself, the usual stuff with the kids, but I won't get into it. Parenting gets really hard when your need to preserve your own mental health gets pushed aside.
What I'd really like to know is Where is everybody???? Unusual for ME to be the one holding down the fort.

No Beer, Day 4 completed, 2 pauses left.
Stretch for at least 5 min, Day 0 completed, 2 pauses left.
Still not stretching, but I'll leave it up there for a bit longer, just in case I feel inspired.
Also doing pretty good on the "stealth" calorie limit, so I think I'll add that.
Keep cals to 1200-1500 daily, Day 2 completed, 2 pauses left.
4 days in a row that I'm all alone???Is there a new thread up that I seem to have missed??

Right after I posted yesterday, I let myself loose, and today has not been much better, so I'm starting over with the cals.

Hi everyone. Things have been a mess and I'm sorry I have not had the discipline to be here following any kind of a plan. Had a diverticulitis attack, house damaged by the ice/snow/water to the tune of $23,500 and a family member is having neurosurgery next Monday. Plus, on top of this, we went away for a weekend and had two family birthdays.
I'm just blown away.
But, here I am today and here I wish to be.
I can't say if I will continue here and be accountable but I want to dry again.

Yesterday was Day 1, round 3 of Dancing Days are Here Again.

With all the busy and scary times that lie ahead, is there truly a reason why I should not take care of myself? If I do not take care of myself, I might become ill and then where will I be? So, I need some form of exercise each day, it's what we all need.

Today is also day 1 of Round one of the new challenge: "Just 'cause you have Diverticulitis, it doesn't give you the excuse to eat the wrong foods" An odd challenge name but it is important for me to continue to remind myself that though I am not well (Diverticulitis) that I must each in a healthy way that supports my body. Sadly, I cannot have whole grains right now, but I can choose fruits and veggies that are tolerable for me. I can make have lean meats and proteins. I can try.

Hugs to you all, hope things are going well.

Derry, I hope you are feeling better. Do you have bouts often? Stay healthy! Isn't it important to watch what you eat with this ailment? So no excuses you are right!! I am sorry to hear that the winter has been hard for you. Will insurance help you out with the damage costs? Anyway, keep on dancing!

Apple, I blew it today. : ( But, at least I am here again and talking with people who might influence a positive outcome for me. I have to get back on track.
Yes, eating right is very important with diverticulitis. I'm scared, to be honest. I've got to do this right.
Tomorrow is another day and I hope I get with it.
