Peek-A-Boo!

I have been meaning to get back over here and was actually going to do it the past couple of days, but then the kids had snow days and I was left with little internet time!

Let's see.....what has been going on with us????

Tommy's mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the end of October. She had her operation at the beginning of November, went in for her check up and her doctor told her that she is 100% cancer free, and that they were able to get it all out. She goes tomorrow to get her port put in, and then she will start her chemo/radiation either next week or the following week.

Tommy has been busy with working a lot of hours....if he wasn't working a lot of hours, he was at his parents house helping them out. So, things were stretched tight......i.e. I was stretched tight with trying to keep the house running smoothly without Tommy's help.

Brandon has been having some behavior issues....and his teacher thinks that he might have ADD or ADHD. We have discussed it with their pediatrician and she gave us some doctor's to follow up with......but I lost their cards, so I wasn't able to make an appointment yet. Plus, we wanted to see how he did in school first before we went to that doctor.

Logan is our little mystery child! We took him to the ER tonight because he seemed to have gotten bit by something. Took him into the ER, and he is having an allergic reaction to something, what we don't know, but they gave him a steroid (that won't be ready until tomorrow) and we have to follow up with his pediatrician tomorrow. So, I am going to see if I can get them all seen tomorrow when I schedule his appointment.

Marissa, is well, your typical girl! She has a new nickname.......the beast.......and she can go from beast to b**** in about 1.3 seconds if she feels the need to happen. She is a good girl though.....she likes to be my helper and even though she can push my buttons, she knows how to smooth things over very quickly when she can sense that I am mad at her.

we are gearing up for Christmas around here......I have my 10 year high school reunion on the 23rd. I can't believe it has been 10 years already, and I am actually very excited about going!!!

I was working out regularly/religiously for a while.....and then we got a new tv and since we don't have the right connectors to plug the Wii into the new tv I have been having to wait.......which I don't mind on one hand, but the other hand I have been getting very antsy and I want to get back on the horse!

Wink Snowed in here in Ohio!!

Morning All.

Well we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! DH's co. put him on a delay, so he tried going in and we have my MIL's mini-van right now because our car is in getting serviced (just normal stuff) and her tires are AWFUL well he got up the road and slid off in the ditch. So he turned around and came back home.

He's fine, the van is fine, TG. So he has a day at home with me. YAY. lol. Maybe we'll get some stuff accomplished! I did take in the cookies for the Nursing Home Staff lastnight. I made my Mom's and I Sugar Cookie Recipe and also made some Break N' Bake cookies (where you just break them off and bake them) so I figured I might as well finish those off as well.

Well MIL reported that the cookies I brought in earlier to her, she shared with everybody and they raved about them. So I hope they rave about these too. My Mom's and I Sugar Cookies are the BOMB if I do say so myself. Not sure about the Break N' Bakes, but DH reassured me that they tasted just fine.

Anywho. I texted my mom lastnight to see if she was working (she works 2nd shift) and then she called me after she was off and said that she was staying at her work. She works in a Fancy Assisted Living Place so they give them rooms if they wanna stay. So I'm glad she did because the roads are AWFUL today! Plus it drifts very badly out in Indiana.

Well I hope your all well and safe! I'll come back later and do Indies. I am gonna try to get off my behind today and get some things done so I'll report in to you ya all later!

BIG

Update: My DH called my MIL to see if she went to her Drs appt today, she didn't yet, it was delayed to this afternoon. But something is going on with her bad foot so she has to be seen today by her dr. I'm hoping her Dr will come by and see her so that they don't have to go out in this. But she said that EVERYBODY at the nursing home RAVED and RAVED about the cookies! Said that they don't know how I do it, but they are EXCELLENT! She also said that she and everybody there think its wonderful that I made them for her to share with everybody. Well I know she's been down about being in the Nursing Home during the Holidays, so I wanted to do something to cheer her up and make her feel better and so that is what I did. Because one thing I can do is bake cookies. My Aunt and I ALWAYS baked cookies since I was a little girl, so I inherited her skill in mastering them. And I only ate like 3 cookies total in ALL the cookies I made and I made A LOT of cookies! So I'm so proud of myself!! I plan on making more for DH because he got the REJECTS because one batch I accidentally forgot to add Baking Powder so they were flatter than a pancake, but still good. But I feel bad that he got the rejects so I told him I'd make him a "good batch" lol. But anyways that is the latest here.

stopping back in really quickly......we are about to take Logan to his pediatrician to get him checked out again. he was excited about missing school today to go to his appointment.....he is only going to have gone two days to school this week......they had Monday and Tuesday off for snow days......he went yesterday and we had his Christmas party.....then he is off today.....and if he gets cleared to go, he will go tomorrow......and then tomorrow after school he will start his break. Brandon doesn't get out until next Wednesday for his break.

UGH...I think I am losing my mind! Too much to do and too much going on, Christmas stuff/shopping etc...my head is swirling. Will be so glad when the holidays are over!

HIYA MINDEE...long time no hear! Glad to see you posting and hearing about what is going on with the family. Can't believe how fast the kids are growing!

SASSY...glad the cookies were a hit! I wish I could bake sugar cookies. Mine always turn out icky for some reason. But I can make a mean choc chip and peanut butter! Lol I just don't like them, love the sugar and peanut are okay but not a fan of choc chip for some reason.

SUE...cute picture of Mason. Another baby growing too fast!

Sitting here taking a break from everything and waiting for the hubby to get back from the store with some alum. pans that I forgot to get today. Going to cook the ham tonight and a pumpkin pie is in the oven as I type! Smelling good by the way. Tomorrow is going to be a long day, hope I can get a nap in with baby. Anyway, just wanted to drop by and at least say HI

after an eventful trip, lasting all of about 15 minutes or so, to the pediatrician's office.....we were sent on our way with "yes it is an allergic reaction....give him some benedryl and the prelone like the doctor in the ER gave him....if he gets worse, of course bring him back in to see us."

we left there, came back home to wait for Brandon, then went to walmart to get Logan's medicine. after spending more time in line waiting for the prescription because they charged me $10 for it....since it showed that he had no insurance. I made sure to show them the new card and they put it in the system yesterday......after fixing it, I then paid $5 for it, and bought some benedryl for him.

got home in time to see that Brandon has what appears to be a bite mark of some kind on his left hand! UGH!!!! I gave him some benedryl in case it is an allergic reaction to something to kind of combat it.

tomorrow is Logan's last day before break......Brandon goes until next Wednesday.

we got some things from Brandon's regular teacher and she sent home the check list that the social worker gave her to fill out......it seems that he is demonstrating the same ADD/ADHD symptoms at school that he is demonstrating at home. So, we will be making an appointment with their pediatrician to discus it.

Other than that, nothing really new.....just trying to keep up with the kiddos and everything......

Off to the Dr. for mom's EMG today. They called and wanted us to come earlier than our appt. in case the snow continued and they had to close early. Got there and home without a hitch. The good news is that mom has no nerve damage in her legs.

Finally got the call...the go ahead for her surgery from the heart specialist. Then talked to the surgical assistant. We might be looking at a 30th surgery. Sooner if the Dr. can swing it. He knows how much pain she is in.

My Christmas tree looks like Santa has arrived. I wrapped mom's gifts and the rest of mine. Looking good. Just have a few little stocking things to do.

Glad to see you all here and hope all is well.

Sue~ I am glad to hear that your mom's EMG went well, and that there was no nerve damage! I hope that she is able to get her surgery done soon!

I need to wrap the kids presents.....and we have to find a hiding spot for them because if we put them under the kids will want to open them and then that won't leave anything for them to open on Christmas!

Mindee..I used to wrap presents and keep them in the trunk of the car...LOL. I one year put them in trash bags in the garage..then worried that DH would put them out on trash day. LOL Four kids were hard to hide all the gifts for. I can imagine in an apt. that you don't have a lot of options.

Wink Afternoon all!

Afternoon All.

I got up early, and after stepping out of the shower, heard this crash from downstairs. So I dry off and get dressed and venture down to see that our lovely cat has knocked over my DH's Bamboo that WAS in a glass vase. Luckily she didn't get hurt. Cleaned that all up then she ventures up above the top cabinets where we THOUGHT our glasses beers mugs would be safe. HA. I get the little step stool that DH bought (good thing) lol and got her down and just put away all the mugs. GEESH.

One thing DH got me a small very very lightweight vacuum cleaner lastnight that we are keeping downstairs. It is so light! It works pretty well. I can even use it for the kitchen (it does multi surfaces) so I zipped that out in the kitchen after cleaning up the broken glass just to insure no little shards were on the floor.

Well I managed to get ALL the clothes hung up yesterday. YAY. I am gonna try to unpack a few boxes in here in the office. My MIL comes home today from the Nursing Home. DH went over lastnight to their house to get everything ready.

Mindee -- WB! So sorry to hear about Tommy's Mom. My Step Father had Pancreatic Cancer as well,.so glad that she is Cancer Free! Hope the Chemo/Radiation and all goes well! Hope all goes well with the kids!

Cristina -- DH usually doesn't like sugar cookies, but he likes the ones I make. My Fav cookies are Oatmeal Raisins. I should make some of those. We bought a Pumpkin Pie lastnight. I need to throw it in the Oven to have for tonight. Ham sounds good. Hope you got a nap in today!

Sue -- glad there is no nerve damage in your mom's legs. I hope all goes well with your moms surgery and hope she is out of pain soon.

You all are talking about Christmas decorations and wrapping presents and we don't have neither here, except for the Wreath on the door and the cute little Holiday Penguin Flag that my DH bought me. lol. We have no idea what to get my FIL. MIL told us what she wants, but not sure if we can find it. Anyways, I hope all you and your family have a Very Merry Christmas!

Cold and dreary here again...A good day to get everything caught up for next week.
All the gifts are wrapped and stockings stuffed. I am checking over the menu/grocery list and it looks like we are set to go. I will make the "dreaded" peanut butter fudge tomorrow. I say dreaded because this is the one I like...so I have a hard time with it.
DH went shopping yesterday and I notice I have gifts and stocking stuff...yay! I am worse than a kid as far as wanting to peek or shake. I have resisted however.

Mom did get scheduled for surgery for the 30th in the a.m. It is scary, but looks like there is no other way. We just wish they had gotten her in for Monday...but she takes a blood thinner and has to be off of it for a week prior to surgery. So Mon. was out.

I am trying to get most things done so if mom has a bad day or needs me more than usual I won't fall behind. I did her laundry today and we got her room cleaned and I had already done the bathroom. Now will work on the rest of the house this week and cook on Thurs./Fri.

Wishing you all a good week and a Happy Holiday season!

Hello everyone...

I thought I had posted here yesterday but forgot I was busy...losing my mind-seriously! Will be glad when the holidays are over...too much going on and I am not used to it. I like it quiet and calm.

I survived yesterdays cooking with baby, and last nights dinner and apparently I am just feeling it tonight...feel so sleepy and tired. We had a good time and also had a good time at Barneys Birthday Bash today! Lily and Cambrie both loved it! Too cute...wasn't bad at all I must say. The girls (me, Charlotte, Cambrie & Lily) went to see Barney and the guys (Hubby, Josh & Chase) went to the movie. Chase didn't want to go see Barney so instead I had the hubby take him somewhere. We were trying for a hockey game but it was yesterday and that was out and th enext one is the 26th or 27th and they are going to the Great Wolf Lodge (annual christmas trip) with Charlottes parents. They take the kids every year, sometimes two or three times a year. Charlotte and Josh don't always go but I guess Charlotte wants to and is dragging Josh. They just went this past April. Anyway...

SUE...glad you finally got a set date for the surgery.

MINDEE...I guess I am the odd one, I never hid presents. The first time Charlotte came over with the kids they were totally confused cause presents were under the tree. They put just a couple and then wait for everything else on Christmas Eve after the kids are asleep.

SASSY...thank you for the e-card...that was sweet and I love teddy bears and the old fashioned look.

HI JULES, bye Jules! They (the grandkids) do you keep you busy don't they?

That's about all I have. I was going to say I am resting and being lazy tomorrow but I have laundry to catch up on so...take care

Hola Mi Amigas!

Well DH and I made a run to Walmart! HOLY MOLY!!!!!! I felt like were doing football plays!!!!!!! Telling DH what to get and him running down and getting it and weaving in and out of people! lol. Then this one woman was just moseying along like she had all the time in the universe and talking on the stupid CELL PHONE! I was like lady either talk on the phone or shop but obviously, you cannot do both darlin! lol.

We did get my inlaws a couple things for xmas. Wasn't able to get the thing we was planning on for mil, but we can tell her we'll get it for her after xmas. I'm sure she'll understand.

We went over and visited them. MIL for being home, doesn't seem all that happy. Maybe it was just the timing when we went over and maybe just adjusting back to being home again. Now FIL has to take care of her instead of an entire staff at the nursing home, so I'm sure she prob is adjusting to that. lol.

DH and I got a very small turkey breast and some cranberry stuff to have a small xmas dinner here for us tomorrow. Not sure what the inlaws are doing for xmas. They asked us what we wanted and we honestly don't care, we figured that since mil has been away, she should decide. Honestly I don't think they wanna bother doing it at all and that is fine with us. I mean after everything she's been through and all, if they'd rather just have something simple, that is fine with us. We WAS gonna have it at our place, but since MIL has two broken feet basically, we figured it was better to come to them.

Anyways I'm rambling again. ha ha. I made DH another Chocolate Cake like I did for his Bday. He loved it so much, he wanted another one. Figured, well it is the holidays. I dunno but I found this recipe for this Choc. Cake in one of my mom's OLD cookbooks she let me have, and OMG Ya'all it is THE BEST I've ever tasted!!!! AND SO EASY! You use ONE Bowl to mix it all up in!! And you use Cocoa Powder so you don't have to melt any choc. or nothing! It is so good! Anyways. Man I suck at this WL thing! HA! But its the holidays so I make exceptions. lol. Beginning Jan 2nd (cuz the inlaws always have a New Years Day Dinner) DH and I both are beginning once again on the road to being HEALTHY.

Jules -- Awwww I bet it makes you happy to have them both up in your lap. Maybe DH and I should try WW. I mean they make it pretty easy for ya, esp when a lot of things in the markets already have your points on it. I dunno but we need something. I told DH, that either I do it alone or he does it with me, but I got to get back on the WL thing. He said he'd do it with me.

Sue -- Oooooooooo PB Fudge is MY favorite too!! I cannot make fudge though to save my life! I can make awesome cookies, cakes and even pies, but not fudge for some reason! lol. I'm glad your mom has her surgery scheduled. I hope it all goes well for her. I will be keeping her and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Well sorry I rambled off a bit.........lol. But ya know it is the season I guess! lol.

Big and I hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas!!

Cristina -- well you just snuck right in there didn't ya? ha ha. OMG it was such a rat race at Walmart I just wanted to sit on the floor and have a hissy fit right there! HA HA! Imagine the site of that! HA HA. Glad the kids had fun. We have a Great Wolf Lodge here, and the CEO was on Undercover Boss and everything went pretty well! So I'm sure they will have fun! YW for the Ecard. I knew I wouldn't get to send out paper cards this year so that was the next best thing!

It's Sunday! Like you don't know that, lol

One of my goals for 2011 is posting daily so I thought I would start before the New Year. This site has always helped me so...even if I have nothing to say except HI I will post and read! I will, I will

Anyway...Sassy, you and the hubby are brave. Son was complaining yesterday about all the dummies out shopping, lol. I said imagine that, people shopping on the weekend the week before Christmas! LMAO There was enough traffic just on the highway going to see Barney, I couldn't imagine going anywhere near a shopping center. Charlotte too was talking about Toys R Us & Walmart...I told her I do my shopping when the mall first opens...get in and get out. I can't stand the crowds! People get so rude! Well, whatever you guys do for Christmas, hope it's a good one!

SUSAN...where are ya? Thank you for the Christmas card and picture of Gaby. Guess I probably should post this on FB or hunt ya down!

Nothing planned for the day. I got 3 loads of laundry done last night so I can sort of relax today. Just need to fold it and put away. Then I am working on my reading...I can get this book finished today if I just sit down and get to it. Oh, I need to go to Barnes and Noble to get a book sent and that's about. The son is coming over with some work for me and daughter-finally! Going to show us what we need to do, how to do it and apparently after waiting almost 2 months on this work they finally got what it was they needed from Florida (where all the research comes from and goes back to) and we are supposed to do 60 students to turn in the 23rd...I laughed. But I don't see a problem with it. Daughter takes 30 and I get 30 and I think we can knock it out in no time...we'll see. Anyway...on with the day...what's left of it!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend whatever you are doing?

popping before I head off to beddy bye!

we had a nice weekend here......Saturday night, we got out with my sister and her husband.....went and cheered on our friend's band, donated some toys to the Toys for Tots, had a lot of fun! Sunday was a laundry/baking day.....I made some buckeyes while Tommy did the laundry.

now I need to get my butt in bed since Brandon has school tomorrow....but it is his Christmas party on Monday......so he is happy about that!

We could probably get away with putting the presents under the tree.....but I think we will wait until next year when we have a house before we cross that line! besides.....I still need to wrap MOST of them!
