What a day...what a week. And I have to work my arse off (I wish my arse would get smaller just by working hard at my job) so that I can get all my reports done by the end of today...otherwise, I have to come in to work tomorrow.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, ladies.

Hi ladies,
We are having unexplained power blips and my PC is not happy - it was rebooting and the power dropped in the middle of it. Having errors with my hard drive so I don't have time to chat this morning. I'll try and get back later.

TGIF.......Got 4 pots of chili going in the break room. Chili cook off waylaid til today. Someone brought in pumpkin bars with cream cheese icing, couldn't resist as I could eat cream cheese on a piece of leather. I must say since I am running the chili cookoff, I have already tasted all chili's. I vote for #2. None of them are spicy or hot. Will have to add jalapenos.
I was so tired at CVS last night. I was standing at the register half falling asleep between customers. I literally passed out last night when I got home. I also ate everything that didn't eat me first yesterday, don't know what that was all about. Kind of scared me.
Chelle...hope your week goes a bit easier on you next week. Keeping fingers crossed to get your reports done today.
Happy...computers frustrate me and I feel for you sister.
MEL....I would love to come clean away for you. Don't want to mention that particular holiday as it doesn't sit well with other worldlies. I wouldn't mind it so much if I had the $$$ for that holiday. I know, it is not about the $$, but it sure would be nice.
Shad...if we are talking color of our walls in reference to java, then my walls in the kitchen, well and throughout the house are mocha with cream. Rather a deep tannish. Mocha with pumpkin spice creamer. LOL
Laura...good morning sista, waddup?
Ceejay...watcha doin"?
Work tomorrow at CVS, Sunday we are going to northern Indiana to meet an aunt for lunch. She is coming down from Michigan. She is my cool aunt that is like 75 yrs old. She is the one who sends me dirty jokes. lol
Don't know my T schedule this weekend as he won't know his schedule til today. (OT or not)
Have a marvy weekend all.
Love and hugs,

Shad – Yeh, we pay the price for convenience – from prepped food to prepped grout! Dark colored grout is a great idea because it doesn't show stains! I always say I should have bought pawprint flooring – it would camouflage the muddy paws. We had rain yesterday, so now there's a track in the 3 season room from the patio door to the inner kitchen door, at which point we corral doggie and wipe him down.
Mel – Hope you didn't breath in any bad germs! Sending healthy thoughts your way. There's definitely a bite in the air today – chillier than earlier this week. Not liking that AT ALL. Hmmm, black tile in the tub area could hide mold, but the soap scum would be very evident. Town picnic in October?! Risky. Although a bunch of fall festivals are going on, so what's the diff? I definitely want to see the last of the 187! I actually started the year FIVE pounds lighter and I'm not ending it 5 lbs heavier!!
Michelle – Fingers crossed hoping you get that work done by the end of the day!!
Annie – Okay, now I'm going to have to make chili this weekend. Between the chill in the air and that chili cook-off you mentioned, it just seems like the perfect thing to do. And yep, I like my chili with a spicy bite to it. Mmmm, pumpkin bars. Speaking of pumpkin – one of our living room walls is pumpkin colored (pie colored, not orange), but the shade of the paint is actually called "acorn spice". Your resistance is low when you're tired. You need to get back on a good night's sleep streak!
Hellos to Happy, Ceejay, Rose!
Another day where I would have preferred to stay home, but no, I'm here at the office. Just heard that Chicago is out of the running for the Olympics. I think it would have been a huge financial risk and there were plenty of other issues - crime, transportation, etc.), but it certainly would have been exciting.
Nothing going this weekend. Meeting a former co-worker for brekkie tomorrow morning. Plenty of stuff to do around the house, and if the weather's going to be sucky, I might just do some of it. Have a good weekend everyone!

Howdy chickies,
Back reading and typing again....
Heard that Chicago lost the Olympic bid. I'm actually kind of glad. Hosting the Olympics is a monstrously expensive venture - you have to build arenas and can't necessarily use existing facilities. Not so sure the city could have afforded it, although the thought did cross my mind to move Mom in here for the month around it and rent her house out for a crazy ridiculous price. (She lives close to Midway airport and only 8 miles from downtown Chicago). But in a city where there is heavy traffic all times of day and night (even at 3am! ) I can't imagine how they would handle the logistics of it. I can't say that I would have attended if they did wind up hosting. Not a fan of crowds anymore.
Is Arlington racetrack open or shuttered Laura?
Annie - as spicy as you like your food, I have to think that you would find the chili at work mega bland. Guess you have to sneak in some fresh jalpenos. Pumpkin squares sounds yummy - still laughing over your comment about cream cheese on leather I can totally relate (and agree) baw haw haw haw... I think sometimes the body just says - I WANNA SLEEP and we say, well ok just one (or twelve) more things. I hope you can catch up on some rest this weekend.
Here's hoping you have a nice, quiet weekend to relax and chill down Michelle. It's been crazy for lots of people - something in the air??? Not even a full moon yet. Take a deep breath, it's almost over and then you can dance out the door!
Mel - I know you like decorations so we'll let you decorate. Just no pictures, ok? Only 85 more days until... Thanks the kept coffee was just the right temperature - care for some pumpkin spice creamer or do you want to try the creme brulee? Can you get one of your firemen buddies to lend Michelle a hat - she needs to be an honorary after this week on the job!
Shad - with the drought and dust and all, are you on watering restrictions again? Good thinking on the dark grout. Our marble foyer tile has beveled edges and the way they butted it together, you can't really see the grout - I like that - a clean unbroken line without the hassles of cleaning light grout. I'd do that again if I could.
Did you get your PC fixed Ceejay?
I keep forgetting to post the cocoon pictures. *slaps head* This weekend is a big craft show which I would really like to go to. I have resisted the urge to go to several since we've been down here but this one is called Mistletoe Madness - for early shopping. It would be nice to get my shopping done early this year and all paid off well before January. I warned DH that he has to give me some money. So far *knock on wood* it seems like we picked the right week to catch the color in the Ozarks. Now I just have to hope for dry weather - it will be quite chilly - I might make head things like chili and soup to take with us for food. And marshmallows to toast on the grill Of course I have to buy a bag and only eat 3 of them. Need to go grocery shopping, get the hooves trimmed and finish cleaning the mess I started last weekend.
I also had the clam chowder from the cafeteria today. I love it. It doesn't love me. I know it doesn't love me when I look at it in the tureen but I take it anyway. And then about 3pm when I am unsettled I yell at myself. Inside of me is a bad girl who stubbornly refuses to change some things.
I'm going to go get the Pepcid - y'all have a nice weekend. Ooompa pa pa - enjoy Octoberfest.

Afternoon ladies,
Yes, I'm back on line. What an ordeal that was and to top it off the computer tech was from India! But I'm grateful and he was v-e-ery helpful. oops I forgpt to put the computer battery back in the computer. Didn't even know where that was until this morning. He's thinking that I had that new virus that's out now. It took everything. I now have a brand new computer on the inside.
My weigh in Thursday surprised me at 192.2 but there was no inches lost. That's a pound loss.
Happy
Thanks for setting up the new thread. I love fall also.
Annie
You are a cleaning machine. I'm thinking that after I retire from my job that I'd like to work in a pharmacy. I want something in the medical field.
Mel
Good for you in setting yourself a 90 day challenge. And good for Jen in getting yet another credit card paid if full. I have one that I'm going to pay off this month and I will owe no man anything. yipee. Enjoy the quietness of the building.
Shad
To bad about the expense of the grout.
Michelle
Don't feel bad about those couple of pounds. You are on top of things and stress does play a role in this. So glad to hear Doppler is feeling better.
Have a good day.

Chili Cook off was a great success. I added jalapenos to my chili. Yep, and since this mornings coffee, I have eaten 5, yep count them, 5 pumpkin squares. Can you say OINK? My gut is rumbling, rolling and making LOUD gurgling sounds. It may be the big one weezie!

Amazingly, other than the noise coming from my insides, I feel really good. Kind of scary. Probably will hit me tomorrow while at CVS, that will be a hoot, trotting off to the bathroom between customers.

Happy - Arlington Racetrack is open and it's a beautiful place. I believe it's closed for the racing season now, but you can probably go there for a home show or something... Enjoy the craft show this weekend.
Agree it's probably for the best that Chicago didn't get the 2016 Olympics. Would have been a gravy train for the connected, and a financial nightmare for everyone else.
Ceejay - Glad your computer is up and running again!
Annie - Whatever you do, stay within range of a loo!

Morning all,
So Chicago didn't get the Olympics. There is good and bad in that. It costs a lot to stage one, however the powers that be seem to be hellbent on putting on such a show, that the cost doesn't matter. Maybe this recession will limit the show off technology which really on works on television. I believe London will be a little less exuberant. As for making money, it doesn't - certainly not directly. NSW is still paying for the Sydney Olympics back in 2000. However it does get new facilities for the city - things which people have been crying out for for years. Like decent public toilet facilities, parks, better public transport and more police. It does bring out the best in the majority of people, but there are always those who get into it for profit and not for the sport. Not that most of it is sport, more of a spectacle and the win at any cost really destroys the amateur promise. Anyway........
Mel - so pleased to hear that Jen has finished paying off that big debt. Bet you all feel so good about it. Do you get that show 'Til debt do us part' on your pay TV. It's a Canadian show. It's amazing how much debt some people can get themselves into and not understand how or why. And I though Canadian's were fairly smart!!! Just goes to show.
Happy - water restrictions got lifted for a week after the dust storm. Yes we are still on restrictions. Normally we can only water on Sundays however I use some water for the garden during the week and recycle some of the shower and washing water as well. It all helps. The expresso grout in on the Mocha tiles on the kitchen wall. I have white stuff for the white tiles. I will send a picture when I finish so you can see what I am talking about. I just didn't fancy white grout on the mocha tiles.
Michelle - hope you got all the work done and have the weekend to yourself. You don't want to have to work all hours all the time. Glad to hear the doggie is doing better.
Annie - chilli competition at work. Ooooh aaaah. Think I will pass. I don't mind a bit of chilli but if it drowns out the flavour of the dish, I will pass thanks. Not into the eat, drown it with a gallon of water, eat business.
Ceejay - glad to see you back on line. What a pain to have to go back to the beginning, and reload everything that you have since done. Glad you could understand the help desk. They annoy me because they talk so fast and if you ask them to explain what they said slowly, they just talk louder. Really, really annoying.
This morning I have planted yet another punnet of lettuces, and some chives (garlic and green). Later I will plant some Chocolate Cosmos. Yes it really does smell like Chocolate. Now I am back to the grouting. White stuff this time. I should have the kitchen finished today and make a start on loo. I tried doing it by the book, however..... It was far easier, and more satisfying to grab a handful and rub it in by hand. Messy but a bit like playing mud pies.
So I had better go get a drink and some morning tea yoghurt and get on with it. DS2 has gone to do some volunteer work at the RSPCA. He is supposed to be building a dog pen. They have allocated $300 towards the job. It will probably take the entire some for the timber or steel frame!!!! D'oh. This should test his ingenuity!

Happy Saturday ladies -
I'm at work. I finally got the reports finished and am now just waiting for them to run so I can check them. I dropped the doggies off at the groomers and then went to the office. I should be outta here in 1/2 hour or so. Then I'll pick up the doggies, drop them off at home and head to the gym. I appreciate everyone's words of support and encouragement!
Monday will be a crazy day at work...but hopefully the rest of the week will be more sane than this past week.
I'm going to try and catch up with y'all at least for October.
Annie - If you really love cleaning, pls come to my house and help me. The chili cookoff sounds YUMMY. I'll pass on the hot peppers though. Nothing like a good bowl of chili for when the weather gets cooler. Maybe I'll make some this weekend! The pumpkin bars sound yummy too. Hope you have a great time with your aunt tomorrow!
Shad - Congrats on the weight loss!!
Laura - Good job for keeping the weight stable after Mexican food. Pawprint flooring - now there's an AWESOME idea!! I have 3 sets of paws tracking in mud.
Mel - We've already had a 27 degree morning when I left for work the other day. It's warmer (mid 50s) today but rainy and cloudy. Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer. You stay healthy, okay? Get lots of rest.
Happy - Mistletoe Madness! What a great name for a craft fair! I heard about a fall craft fair going on next weekend near my house and they are looking for vendors...but with booth space costing $100 (very expensive for our area) and my crafts being in the lower price range...there's just no way I could sell enough to make it work setting up. Maybe I'll try to get into a fair closer to Christmas....although most of those have sold out their booth space already. Guess I could always go as a customer. That's always a lot of fun for me!
Ceejay - So happy to hear your computer is working! Yay! Congrats on the weight loss!
Well, I'm going to finish up my work so I can go get the doggies and get on with my day!
Love and hugs,
