Good Evening....

The BD party was soooooo much fun. Only knew 3 of the 25 or so people that were there. Made some great aquaintances. Got home about 2 am, and didn't get up till 9 this morning. My entire day has been off kilter. Not used to sleeping that late.

Made a huge pot of chili and cornbread. Not a soul here to eat it but me. Guess I will have plenty of food for this week. Also made chocolate brownies with carmel icing, which I won't eat cause I don't like chocolate. Tony is coming over in a bit. He was supposed to be here at 5, but called and said he would be a little later, like around 7.

Here is to a great week and a marvelous Monday morning start!

Love and Hugs

Concert was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S They got a late start but played for well over 3 hours. Worth ever single penny of the horribly overpriced tickets. But we both had a great time. I got a guitar pick from Joe Walsh. I'm too excited to go to sleep but morning will come soon enough. Good thing I'm off today/Monday.

Good morning ladies -

I had a great weekend! Had a great dinner with former co-workers on Friday; got the house all clean (except for mopping/waxing the floors which DH will do today). I need to keep up with the housekeeping....My house really looks nice when it's clean! And yesterday, DH and I went to one of my co-workers for an awesome football party. Happy, I'd say I'm sorry about the lopsided score in the Packers favor, but I'm really not. I hope the Eagles concert eased the sting out of the Bears loss.

Mel - I hope you managed to get some R&R this weekend, despite the accountants.

Carla - Glad you're having a great time in NY.

Happy - The more you gloat about not needing a coat down there, the more tomatoes I'm gonna toss at ya'! And I don't want to hear any whining about 45 degrees...45 degrees would be a heat wave compared to what we've had here the past week or two. Of course, 70 degrees would be heaven. Send some of that up our way, please! I'm so glad you enjoyed the concert....of course, who WOULDN'T enjoy an EAGLES concert! Played for over 3 hours! And a guitar pick from Joe Walsh! Awesome! Enjoy your day off today!

Ceejay - That REALLY sucks about your boss making you cancel your Christmas plans. After all you've done going above and beyond the call of duty. I can understand your frustration and disappointment. Hopefully you can make plans to visit her soon. I'm glad you had a good time with your relatives.

Shad - Good for you for tending to your garden so well! Sounds like a fun/interesting night at the he/she's house.

Annie - Glad you had a great time at the BDay party! Home at 2am! Wow!! The chili and cornbread sound so yummy! I hope you enjoyed your evening with Tony. Sending you : and fingers are for the Humana interview and that you get a second interview with Community soon. My fingers are also that my DH gets lots of calls and interviews this week too.

Ruth - I won't be blaming Canuks for the cold, but it is a colder than normal November for us with highs in the mid 30s. Luckily, none of the snow has stuck. I'm not looking forward to winter driving any time soon.

Painter - Congratulations on having the lap band surgery, on joining the gym, on losing #'s, and gaining flexibility, energy and a bright outlook! Enjoy your trip to Bean Town!

Patty - I'm glad you had a nice visit with your mom. It's getting cold in Texas too? Sheesh! And Southern California had temps in the mid 90s over the weekend. Maybe they can share some of that warm weather with the rest of the country.

Rennie - I think we all are worried about you! Are you okay? Did you get over the pneumonia yet?

I'd better get back to work....Lots to get done today!

Here's to a great Monday and an wonderful week for all of us!

Love and hugs,

Hello ladies,

Just a quick post. I will post later.

Ok I have an 11 day challenge. With Thanksgiving coming up and I do like like to eat. I need to start saving calories/cutting calories.

NO FAST FOOD until after Thanksgiving Day - Anybody in? Or pick something that will challenge you for the next 11 days.

Morning all,
It's still raining here. It has been on and off (mostly on) since the storm on Sunday night. Damage here from the storm has been a bit horrendous however we didn't get any thing apart from thunder, lightning and rain down our way. It was supposed to be the worst storm to hit Brisbane in 25 years. It did however deeply water the garden. Something I have to give thanks for.

Today is my last day of home for another 2 weeks or so. Back to WA tomorrow. Wonder what they will fish up for me to do next.

Annie - so pleased to hear that you had a good time at the party. Good to meet new people from time to time and widen the circle of friends and acquaintances - never know when one of those people might come up with a job or at least a lead for you.

Happy - wow on the concert. So pleased you really enjoyed yourself. I guess the guitar pick will be put in a very safe place!

Mel - Hope things settle down for you shortly, although you sound like you are coping with things okay. Have a great time with Carla tomorrow. Sorry I can't be there. Qantas airline is having a sale with a 2 for 1 price tag on international flights. Now if I could find someone to go with me, I could be in NY in about 24hours!

Michelle - I don't think you could upset Happy today - she is on cloud nine. Good luck with the housework. If you finish early, come on over and have a go at mine. Even tho' we are feeling the cold here at the moment, you will probably think it is tropical.

Patty - good challenge. I might make one myself to get to the gym or at least go for a long brisk walk 5 days a week and to cut back on the food. I'm not going to make the 2kg off this month dang it all.

Okay, time to go get on with cleaning up the place and finishing my taxes. They will be ready to go in today I hope. I'll be back.

Patty - I will try and abstain from fast food until after Thanksgiving. I am also going to increase my veggies to at least 3 servings a day (up from practically none) and exercise at least 3 days per week.

Shad - Sorry that you're having so much rain, but I'm sure you'll find stuff to tend to inside. And your plants must be loving such a good soak. It's snowing here, but still not sticking on the ground - so that's good. Enjoy your last day at home for awhile.

Patty
Is it really 11 days till Thanksgiving? I need to exercise more and burn some extra calories. Therefore, I'll pledge to ride the bike 220 minutes till this day.

Happy
How did you end up with the guitar pick? Glad you had a good time.

Annie
Chili and cornbread sounds good.

Shad
Glad the rain gave the garden plenty of water. Should be a lot easier to work in the soil.

Evening........

Well, oh sleepy head me didn't climb outta bed till 10 am. Was awake but just laid there and watched Good Morning America then Regis and Kelly. I am getting a little lazy.

It is colder than the north pole today. We had a slight bit of flurries today, however had to look closely to see them. Got all my errands done this afternoon.

I have a splitting headache. I think it is from needing to poo, but it is not done baking, so I am slightly backed up therefore have a headache. I guess it would be called a sh*t headache. Yes, Folks, once that turd drops the head quits hurting. lol

Went to the library and got more books, I keep bringing them home but find little time to read them. Just not in the mood or something. I need to get off my fat *ss, I have gained 7 lbs this month. Geez.

Happy...How wonderful you had such a great time at the Eagles concert. I LOVE the Eagles. Are you wearing the pick in your bra??

Shad...when I sang rain, rain go away, it must of came to you :^)

Michelle...Isn't it nice to have a clean house? My house is actually overly clean since I have been off work. I run outta stuff to do.

Patty....11 days till Thanksgiving...where has this year gone? Faster and faster as I get older and older.

Ceejay...I would love to pledge to do something till Thanksgiving, however I am no dang good at keeping up with it. I suck at exercising.

MEL....your life needs to get back to the normal, abnormal so you can at least sleep in peace.

Hey to everyone I may have missed.

Love and Hugs...

and I have a belly ache from eating Doritos. You know I used to think that by losing weight things would be "right" and I would have all good things going in life. No, it doesn't work that way. Yeah I may be slim now and in better health, however as weight worries go away, which they really don't cause I worry about regaining the weight every day. Which is probably a good thing so I won't gain it back. Other things replace the space I used to have for worrying about losing weight. In other words, in the mish mashed paragraph above, losing weight does not solve all problems. I used to think if only I were thin....everything in life would be perfect. Not. I don't even know why I am babbling on about this mess, it just sort of came out. Sorry girls. I am a dork.

Good morning chicks,

Annie - be a "dork" all you want - though I don't think of you ever that way. I find it very interesting to get a peek into your life post WLS. As you say, things aren't all just rosy each day and life continues to have it's little challenges no matter where you are. Hope you feel better soon. I have found that each time I fall off the eating clean wagon, I feel the worse for it. You would THINK that alone would be enough to keep on the straight and narrow but it ain't And nope, I don't have the pick in my bra - that would pinch! It's stuck on my cabinet tackboard, just a nice souvenier.

Ceejay - I think once we hit Labor Day, the rest of the year flies by. At the end of the last encore, the guys came forward on stage to take a bow and Joe threw picks out to the crowd. They are very lightweight and don't go far so it was good we were right at the spot he stooped down and looked at us. I'm just glad I didn't get stomped

Shad, hope you finished your taxes before you had to head out again. The 2 weeks SHOULD fly by quickly but I'm sure they will be intense ones. At least you kind of know what you are getting back into.

Michelle - I saw how chilly it is up by you and yes, I'm sure 45 degrees would be more welcome than below freezing. It's 32 now if that makes you feel any better Still feels cold to us. Brrr snow. No thanks! Stay snuggly warm.

Mel - enjoy your visit with Carla. Sorry the troops are leaving it all up to you - AGAIN. Just do what you have to - minimally - then get in the jammies and take the phone off the hook.

Ruth - the weatherman was blaming you guys again for the latest cold snap How's the puppy doing?

Painter - glad to see you again. Safe travels over the holidays. Come back and see us.

Patty - I don't eat all that much fast food BUT it would be a challenge for me to actually make and bring my lunch to work instead of eating in the cafeteria. Not much of a challenge tho since today we have a big pot luck / bring a dish early Thanksgiving luncheon at work - I'm bringing low calorie paper plates and I am off all next week on vacation so that would only be 3 days of challenge. Will have to think of something here...

I am walking vicariously through Carla in the Big Apple

Madcat, Turtle

Time to get movin' and groovin'. Later chicks - have a good one.

Low calorie paper plates, he he. I have paper plates at work. I'm wondering if they are low calorie!

It was cold this morning at a frosty 30 degree's, but it's warm on the inside. Got tickled at the boss man yesterday. I was downstairs sweeping the floor and he poked his head in the door with more over due bills from the light office. He said I was dreading climbing those stairs, the poor thing. What about the rest of us peons! I actually am not over that last episode of diverticulitis so I wrote on the back of my monitoring sheet that I didn't feel like going downstairs every hour. I'm still planning on having a converation with him at evaluation in December.

ANNIE...YOU ARE NOT A DORK...IF YOU ARE THEN WTF AM I??? SO TALK AWAY MY FRIEND. I THOUGHT AT ONE TIME LOSING WEIGHT WOULD SOLVE ALL MY PROBLEMS TOO. I EVEN THOUGHT I WOULD "GET AROUND" BETTER....NOT HAPPENING SO YOU HAVE PLENTY OF COMPANY IN THAT THOUGHT.

SHAD....YOU COULD BRING MARIE BACK FROM THE LAND OF OZ. SHE LOVES TO TRAVEL AND COME TO THE STATES!! ROFLMAO SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS TO YOU AND THE FAMILY AND THE DB JUST IN CASE HE IS PAYING ATTENTION THIS TIME.

HAPPY...SO IS THE DH JEALOUS OF THE PICK YET??? HAS HE TRIED IT OUT ON HIS OWN GUITAR OR ARE YOU NOT SHARING YOUR NEW POSSESSION?!?! INQUIRING MINDS NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS. IF YOU ARE "WALKING" WITH CARLA THEN I HOPE YOU BROUGHT A WINTER COAT

CEEJAY, MICHELLE AND PATTY...GOOD LUCK ON THE 11 DAY CHALLENGE. GREAT IDEA NOT TO STUFF THE FACE BEFORE THEN.

I HEARD ON THE NEWS THAT A MAD CANADIAN WOMAN IS ON THE LOOSE AND HEADED FOR NEW JERSEY. LOCAL OFFICIALS ARE CLOSING DOWN ALL EXITS FROM NYC INCLUDING THE 2 TUNNELS AND GW BRIDGE
I AM AWAKE, DRESSED AND BREAKFASTED. JUST HAVE A FEW FINAL TOUCHES TO PUT ON MYSELF AND I'M ALL SET. HOPING CARLA DOESN'T GET LOST AND WE HAVE TO SEND OUT OUR BOYS IN BLUE TO FIND HER. WE'RE PREPARED FOR ANY EMERGENCY. YESTERDAY WAS THE PLANT CLUB AND I TOLD THE OFFICE...SORRY, NO CAN DO, I AM BUSY. I THINK ONE WOMAN ABOUT FAINTED AT THE WORD NO I LEFT SOME ORDERS FOR PLACING THE TABLES & CHAIRS, FOR THE REPAIRMAN FOR THE WASHER, AND CAME BACK UP TO DO MY OWN THING. MY FRIEND CALLED LAST NIGHT TO SAY I HAVE MORE THAN EARNED MY EXTRA CHECK FOR DEC. 1ST. GAVE ME SOME LOVELY COMPLIMENTS. LOU, THE "PLANT GUY" SENT ME UP MY XMAS CACTUS...HOW SWEET WAS THAT. HE BROUGHT A FEW BIG ONES IN AND THEY TRANSPLANTED PIECES OF IT INTO SMALLER POTS.
OK GOTTA GO AN PUT MY FACE ON!
HAPPY TUESDAY AND HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Good morning ladies -

I'm in an exceptionally good mood this chilly Tuesday. It was 17 degrees (Fahrenheit) this morning when I left for work. As for my Thanksgiving challenge, I have not had any fast food, and I had 4 servings of veggies yesterday, and two so far today (thank goodness I love V-8 as an easy way to get my veggies in). I'm leaving a little early today so I can go with DH to pick DMIIL at the airport. I'm so looking forward to seeing her again and having her with us for the holidays.

Shad - I hope your trip back to Dampier is a good one.

Annie - I hope everything comes out okay so that your headache can go away! You are not a dork, at least not IMHO. You're the Annie we all know and love dearly! I also find it interesting to learn the "ins and outs" (so to speak) of life post WLS. You are correct, life always presents us with challenges, which is not a bad thing at all. I believe we all grow a little as we overcome life's little (and sometimes big) daily challenges.

Happy - We're managing to stay warm, despite winter coming too darn early for my liking. You're off all next week! How nice! Are you traveling for Thanksgiving? Or just enjoying some relaxing time at home.

Ceejay - I hope you feel better very very soon.

Mel - I hope you have a wonderful day today with the Mad Canadian!

Gotta get back to it. Here's to a great Tuesday for everyone!

Love and hugs,
