No worries Heather. We all know life happens. We'll be here for ya next week~

Queenjane, nice move! I hope it works out well.

I really should join a gym - the elliptical machine sounds fascinating - but I've got a bit of gym-phobia; I'm not fond of leaving the apartment much at all. Not to mention I haven't started my new job yet and have zero cash for those horrible monthly fees! All I want is an elliptical and a couple of weight machines.

Two words: Tucson Y. There are several branches -- one's gotta be near you. AND they have a policy that no one should be turned away for lack of ability to pay. I have a decent job, but even I qualified for some assistance (waived $100 joining fee and reduced monthly -- I'm only paying $31/month for the two of us) b/c I'm a single parent. You might be surprised, sister! E-mail the membership director, plead your case and see if they'll work with you.

Hey, girls just wanted to send out a quick Hi!! and say, We Can Do It!! Don't be discouraged if things slow down or you hit a bump, it's just par for the course, KWIM? I have a busy weekend ahead so I probably won't 'see' you all 'till Monday. Have a great weekend and be kind to yourself!

Sherin =)

Glad I'm not the only one feeling like they've had a bad week. We had company over the weekend, and though I deviated from my plan a little, I still worked out, rode the bike, hit the gym, cut the lawn, played tag in the yard with the kids...yet I'm still afraid to get on the scale and am trying to wait until my bday on July 27. OR , wait until my doctor appt which is about Aug 2. Can I wait that long?
Still tired of being tired, but oh so looking forward to losing MY muffin top too!

Really? I didn't know they did that! I may be able to get over my gym-phobia if I have a membership someplace I can afford.

Thanks very much!

Does anyone care to reveal mesaurements?
I will fess up. I just measured what used to be a 'waist', now it's sort of this ball thing that hangs in the middle of my torso.
42

The only reason I am putting that info out there....in such a public place, is so that I can be accountable. I know we are all monitoring our weight and that is the goal...weight loss.....but I would love to report back in a few months with a SMALLER measurement.

FYI my sizes are either 18 or 16 depending on the brand, and I have a lot of size 1X work out pants that I wear.

Another day "perfectly on program" is on tap for today (this makes SIX in a row!) Going over to the Y when baby boy wakes up to splash around in the pool with him.

Dug out my Moosewood Low-Fat cookbook and I have three new recipes to try this week: sushi rice salad (zenor77 posted it here on 3FC and that made me dig out my virtually untouched copy of the book -- ), middle eastern cannellini bean patties, and pasta with eggplant.

Sherin -- we'll catch you on Monday. Hope you have a great weekend.

Ethereal -- give the Y a call or drop and e-mail and see if they will work with you. To get a scholarship at our Y, you need to provide tax returns and stuff -- and they do offer FULL scholarships, too.

2BThin -- way to go putting that number out there! all I can think is you must be taller or curvier than me, because my number is bigger than yours! Feel free to report progress against that number in our weekly check-in...we'll cheer you on!

Angry

I wish I would dig out a cookbook. Good idea.
As far as my belly measurement, I don't know why I put it out there.
I'm just so sick of all this.
Went to a neighborhood birthday party, sort of had to go..they live right next door. I am just so friggin sick of being the biggest mom.
Just sick of it. Meanwhile the skinny minnies were eating up the cake, extra cake, extra frosting , 2nd servings of icecream, and I had nothing.
Yet I'm the one that they ASSUME eats like that all the time, and I don't and I never have.
MEANWHILEl, it is 3:30AM and I can't sleep. DH won't turn the air on because it's been cool that last few nights,..tonight it's miserably hot. So what, you open the window to get a breeze, what good is a HOT breeze?
It is 79 in our bedroom............UGH
And every time I roll over I feel this big ole gut slop to one side........I CAN NOT STAND IT!
Okay thanks for letting me vent

Hey girls!! I'm back =), good to be home. We went to Disneyland Friday (my DH had some bus. meetings out there so me and the kids met him there) evening; what should have been a 80 min. drive took 4 hours with traffic and a potty stop in the middle of I don't know where! Went to the hotel pool Saturday morning.

I sure here you all on feeling yucko in the summer. I look alright in clothes if I have some time to pull myself together, but I look BAD in a swimsuit -- can't hide anything in that.

After two restaurant meals and a BBQ last night I'm up a couple on the scale this morning. Trying to be good today and will see if I'll settle by tomorrow.

My kiddies have friends over today, as if I don't have enough of my own to tend to, lol. Aahhh... summer.

What's your weigh-in (if you care to share): 198

What's your goal this week (it can be anything you choose): To finally choose a plan and stick to it. Obviously taking my favorite parts of all of them and putting them into one isn't working.

Your most recent "little victory" (weight loss is all about the baby steps, now, isn't it?): Have to agree about the tank top issue, also have seen a bit of improvement in the inner thigh area. (Not much, but some.)

I am new to the site and so very happy to find a group that is fighting the same battles I am. It is nice to have others along for company...as it is a long trip alone. I also like the weekly goals because it's all about the little victories that let us conquer our future! Please share what is "working" for you, as I am still tying to find my way in the dark, and I am one of those who can't find my own ...well, you know.... in the dark.

Sending all a little for the week.

Sonie
