Sorry to hear about your fall, Shelley. I hate when something like
that happens and everybody comes up and asks me how I got hurt.
If I say, "Oh, it's nothing," then they just get more curious!

Cheryl congrats on getting the classes you need for your degree. Will
this be your last "formal education" for the foreseeable future?

Suzy congrats on your weight loss. Really great!

I'm not paying enough attention to what I'm doing at work and I
need to improve. I don't know how much of it is due to sleep
deprivation (because of a toddler who keeps waking up in the
night, and partly trying to do work at home after the kids sleep),
and how much is due to calorie restriction.

I didn't get a response from Dee either. I am concerned.

My nose is still a bit numb and I have some yellowing on one side. I still have the bandaid on it at work because the gash is yucky looking. I'm afraid to get back on the bike right now. I did walk a bit yesterday, but not being able to run and bike, I have nothing left but to gain weight!!

Yep. I think I'm at the end of my educational rope (for now). I will probably dabble with some business classes at the local CC as time and money allow, but I don't see an English PhD in my future!

Since these are my last two classes and I'm hoping to graduate in December or May if--God willing--I can pass my written comps, I am making other plans for the future------------

I officially stopped taking the pill two weeks ago!

Cheryl, Wow, going off the pill is very exciting. I did that, thinking
ahead, thinking it might take several months to conceive, and it
was a rude surprise not very many weeks later to have a really
bad (and really long-lasting) case of morning sickness. But most
women don't conceive fast and most women don't have their
productivity ruined by pregnancy, so I'm really happy and excited
for you.

I'm doing better today. I still have the problem today of feeling MORE
hungry AFTER a meal than I felt before it. I've tried to talk to
other people about this feeling and nobody seems to have the
same problem. Does anybody out there ever feel more hungry
after a low-carb or low-cal meal than before?

This only happens with low-carb or low-cal meals, so it's probably my
body producing insulin to help digest food and then causing low blood
sugar when there isn't much need for insulin.

Today it's only annoying and distracting, not bad enough to drive
me crazy like yesterday. But still, it really ruins a nice meal to
walk away from it feeling so "needful," and it stinks to spend so much
willpower at a time when I think I shouldn't need it.

Lisa-I'm always hungry after a meal. It's not really hunger, just craving something else no matter how full my stomach is. I think that's just my habit. I can't seem to break it. Have you tried chewing gum or brushing your teeth? It may or may not help.

Cheryl-Does Stewart know you are going off the pill? Is he ready for a family?

Sherry-This may sound stupid, but being from Fl, we have no basements. How do you get your car down there?

Janice-You have to do what works for you. Good luck on the low carb.

Lisa ~ I have that problem on occasion and you are right...it's due to your blood sugar levels. How often are you eating? If you are only eating 3 times a day then consider adding a morning snack and afternoon snack to help keep your blood sugar levels more constant.

We may have a baby Cheryl or Stew around here in the future????? Best wishes Cheryl! You will make a FANTASTIC mommy!

Lisa, I agree with Suzy, try adding something in between meals.

Shelley, I need to admit something...I got the giggles when I pictured a car trying to go down steps into a basement. I'll let Sher explain to you how it works. I forget sometimes that we all come from different areas of the country with different issues. If I remember right, all of your water wells are above ground? Most of ours are underground. How is your septic/sewer system setup?

Shelley...I got so tickled when I read what you posted. I guess I took it for granted that everyone knew what a basment was.Sorry. The basement is the full length of the house. You drive down the driveway and pull into it. It's a big open place. It's where we have our washer & dryer also. We are lucky though because we have a separate room down stairs that has a storage room with a door. A lot of people who have basements turn them into dens or master bedrooms. Does this make sense?

Congrats Cheryl on coming off the pill!!! I hope you get prego We can all come there and give you a baby shower!!!!! What does Stewart think? BTW: Chris is a "pill" baby!!

Be back later to post more....(The lady next door just walked in)

Yeah you guys are Back.
I know everyone is busy this time of year.
I am down another pound finally. I went back on low carb on Monday and have lost 3.5 pounds since then. The pound is from where my ticker left off. I had gained back up to 178.5.
I have never felt hungry after a meal I don't think. That must feel weird.
Sherry - I have never heard of a basement you can drive into either, thanks for explaining.
