HEllo all. REal quick post before bed. I was at a catalog party tonight. Fun, but late.
Exercise and posting challenges met. No unauthorized sweets - pause day. Had some at an all day work meeting, and it went downhill from there. Tomorrow is another day.
Red, I hear you on the confidence being at rock bottom. Mine sure is there. Sushi, what WAS your caffeine of choice? Mine was diet soda. And I found that if I drank a decaffeinated version, it kind of mentally helped me over the hump. Just a thought.
Everyone else Have a great night. Hopefully I will post in the morning after I jog again - but my quads are really killing me right now. If not, I will do a good stretching yoga tape.
Here's to us!

Day15 No Beer
Day 7 less coffee
Day 5 calf raises
Day 2 stairs
I WOULD like to try a no alcohol challenge, but the timing and ( and current stress level) needs to be just right. Yes Red, no beer cuts A LOT of calories out. I can easily throw back 3 or 4 beers but mixed drinks only one and wine, one glass maybe 2, depending on the social situation. But cutting it all out isn't a bad idea.
Hello everyone! I see DJ's out of the starting gate again! You should keep posting your no smoking stat (how many days is it now??!) It's an amazing feat and you should totally brag about it!!!
Hello Jolly! Keep up the exercising!

Day 2 - 5 servings fruits/vegies per day, level 3 - good
Day 2 - 64 oz water per day - level 3 - good
Day 2 - log all calories - level 1 - good
And at Apple's suggestion: Day 30 - No smoking - good - No Pauses
Had a busy day yesterday but got all challeges in, barely on the vegies/fruit, but pulled it off at dinner.
Apple - You're doing great with that no beer! Yes, knocking back a few beers can really up your calorie level. Even if you're having a glass of wine or 1 hard drink, that's a lot less calories than 3 or 4 beers!
Hi everyone else out there! Got to run off again to another appointment this morning. Have a great day!

I'm back and really tired. Starting over on the challenges, since I did not behave entirely well while gone. The good news is that, while I didn't stay entirely on program, I didn't go totally wild either. Hope everyone else did well while I was gone.
Calories - <1500, day 1, 0 pauses taken
Vege/fruit - at least 5 servings per day, day 1, 0 pauses taken
Food log every day, day 1, 0 pauses taken

Heyall. Well, the only challenge I met today was to post here. And, that was really hard to do, since I did not meet the other two today. I have no excuse for the eating. The exercising? well, I was still sore from either the jogging or the fall on Tuesday. And since puppy woke me up an hour early with "Play? Playplayplayplayplay!!!" I didn't have the energy to do much else. I am going to try and keep going with all my challenges, and complete them without another restart.
Have a wonderful day all.

Notched today:
Day 11 on no chxxxte
Day 7 on no coffee
I have succeeded!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! If anyone remembers, my goal was to last a week without coffee. I got as far as day 5 and day 6 recently, but then had to have some coffee to stay awake on a school work day. The fact that we've just had the reading week (no classes) here definitely helped, but I'm still very happy. I'm going to continue with the challenge, naturally, and aim for 21, but I'm not too fuzzed about getting there this time. Let's try to make it to day 10 for now. :P In theory, I still have three pause days left, but I have this thing about not using them.

Got all challenges yesterday, not sure what will happen today though. My little one has a bad cold and I woke up with it this morning! The water I'm sure I'll drink, just because it feels good on the throat, the other challenges? I'll try.
Welcome back Ashley! Glad to hear you didn't go totally wild during your trip.
Sushi - Congrats on that coffee challenge! You're doing great.
Jolly - Hope you can meet those challenges!
Hi Red and everyone else out there! Have a great day.

Hey all. Just a quick post, so I don't forget to post. All challenges met today. Not sure what days I am on - will have to check tomorrow.
I just got back from driving 30-some miles in a blizzard that came a day earlier than expected, so I am beat. Have a good one all

starting a challenge
Well here goes, in the midst of exams
and winter I have decided that a challenge will help me to focus, and remind me that a little willpower does exist if I manage to harness it... and it will get me through. I have decided to make the challenges positive changes rather than stopping myself from doing something, I hope it will help me in being successful!
so for my 21 day challenge starting tomorrow (Febuary 25 2007)(it is almost midnight) I will:
1. complete 40 minutes of exercise a day.
2. drink 1.5 litres of water a day.
3. substitute 2 hot drinks a day with herbal tea.
4. fresh fruit every day (x3)
When I succeed with this, I will begin a new challenge with a few more changes to work towards... baby steps!

Sushi - way to ace the coffee challenge!!! I'm cheering you on to hit day 21.
Bleu - good luck with your challenges. It really is amazing how control over the small things really helps to keep the big things under control too.
DJ - sorry to hear you've not been well. Hope you continue to improve.
Red - looks like you continue to be very busy. Doing a great job with the alcohol/crunch/water challenges.
Jolly - glad you made it home safe and sound through the blizzard. It only made it up to 67 here today!!
Apple - you're almost to the finish line with the beer challenge. Hand in there!
