Well here it is a new week and I'm glad. I didn't weigh today. I should have but was scared to step on the scales. What a chicken I am. Have to go to the post office and mail my son in Iraq's boxes and then on to Wal Mart to pick up medicine. So I'll be back later.

Goodness gracious, where is everyone? We only had 2 pages last week.

Well, glad that weekend is over, eating wise. was good. Family and food, nothing better. We shopped most of the dat Friday. Got quite a bit finished. Have all my Christmas decorations up. Yesterday we put up our Dicken's villages. I have 16 of them and I put them high on 12' ledge on my staircase. My DD has to squeeze over and set them up. I probably should leave them up all year.

I can't just eat off plan one day, I have to turn it into a whole weekend. I say every time, it will only be one day. Plus I have trouble getting in all my water pills when I'm at home. So my lovely scale was up 7 lbs today. I doubled up on the water pills and I have been to the little girls room about 12 times already and it isn't even lunch time.

Back to the gym tonight. The weather here has been beautiful. Today it is 70. My kind of winter. Maybe we will walk 3 miles in lieu of the gym.

Toni, I am also afraid to get on the scale, but I need to face the music.

Monet, that little boy is adorable. He is growing up so quickly. How did the pecan pie turn out?

BOB, how is your knee? Any word on the job you put a bid on?

Missy, come on back, we can at least maintain through the holidays. Have you bought Alexis a ton of stuff? Is she afraid of Santa?

Got to get busy. Have a wonderful day.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

Called the Doc to order an X-ray for my knee. I still say it isn't broken, there hasn't been any terrible swelling, but it hurts like a MOFO...

I have to take Kate to the EYE SPECIALIST in the morning, so on the way back, I'll stop and pick up my order, my glasses are ready, so we'll stop and pick those up too. I'll go in the afternoon for the X-ray and then the results will be available when I go to the Doc on Wednesday.

Haven't heard anything from the job that I bid on. Hopefully, sometime this week. FINGERS CROSSED PLEASE!!!

It's clouding up out there again today. The humidity is up..not bad, but up.
We could use some rain.

Did I tell y'all that my Brother got engaged on Wednesday night? He isn't gong to quit his job because the benefits are too good to lose. He plans on selling his house in Corbin and move to Evelyn's house in Danville. That will mean about an hour drive each way every day. She told me they aren't going to wait to get married...why should they?

I'm off to start that laundry that I've been putting off...believe me, the stack is growing bigger by the minute!

I'll check in later!

BOB

Ugh. I didn't get back OP the day after T-Day. In fact, I only did good with my eating on Saturday and that's it. I'm up 5 pounds. Back to the drawing board today. I got up at 4:45 this morning and did the 4 mile WATP and sweated tons. Around 7:30 I had a grapefruit and at 9:30 I made a LC/LF shake(protein powder and water). At 11:30 I had 14 almonds. I don't get my lunch until 1:30. I have a legal Lean Cuisine(spinach and chicken) and yogurt for my lunch. I brought a couple things to keep here for my evening snack since I don't get home until so late(almost 7). I have almonds, NSA applesauce, PB, and apples in my stash. I took out some steaks for tonight..going to make a salad and a sweet potato to go along with it. Hopefully, Robby will get home before me and have the steaks on the grill by the time I get home. It sucks eating so late but I don't have a choice. Well, I'm glad T-Day is over..no room for excuses. My co-worker says she's not going to even think about losing weight until all the holidays are over. Not me...if that was the case I would put on 10 #'s by New Year's! Well, it's been busy in here, it's taken over an hour to type this, so I need to go. Check back later!

I had a busy day. But did better with my water. The only soda I had was a diet coke because the machine in the building i was in was out of water and I don't do water fountains. I'm a germophobe. Can't help it. My feet are ACHING!! Work was such a pain in the backside tonight. It seems every FREE second I had I was looking for something for someone else. Well I'm off. I just got home and need to eat dinner. See y guys

Oh by the way:
Thanks for letting me join you guys.

Evening everyone! I spent the day finishing up the painting, touching up places, then playing with Kaeleb before I headed out to the ceramic supply place on my way to the dentist. I did not get home until 6:30, shot my Byetta, ate dinner and then ran to the store. I just got home, put the stuff away and made Tom's lunch and snacks for tomorrow. Now I am sipping a cup of Sleepytime tea and will head to bed in a bit. Tomorrow, I will remove the masking tape from the trim, clean up the tiles, and start setting the room back up. Once Tom gets the new medicine cabinet up, it is going to be SO nice! We had a huge flat mirror before, and it was yucky. The medicine cabinet is huge, and will hold all my prescriptions and then some! haha!

Eating today was so so. I did weigh this morning, and was up seven pounds. This was not due to overeating from the holidays. I was pretty bummed. I am sure it is because the doctor decided to reduce my thyroid meds and was a bit too aggressive with how he did it. He removed my T3 totally and halved my T4...and I can tell that was WAY too much reduction. I am tired all the time, my skin is getting dry, my joints are aching constantly, and now the weight is creeping up. Sometimes I just HATE doctors. He did not listen to how I felt at all...he just looked at the lab test and based it all on that. By the time I go in to get it rechecked in early January, I will probably be up 15 or more pounds. Do you think he will listen to me? I doubt it. I am considering going back to the old dosing schedule, and telling him off when I go in. Endos are like accountants...its all the test numbers to them! In the meantime, I am trying very hard not to cry. It is so hard for me to lose, and this is a major set back.

I need to get ready for bed... Sweet dreams everyone!

Hi Ladies,

I went to the gym last night even though I had a splitting headache (whichI never, ever have) hoping the endorphins would clear up the headache, which it didn't. Came home got dinner together, then I fixed a meatloaf for tonight, then decided to go ahead and make dinner for Wed (spaghetti). Then I mopped the kitchen floor since the dog left and vacummed. ThenI boxed up all the Christmas gifts I had and figured out all the receipts and money. It was then 10:30 so I decided to go to bed. Layed there thinking about everything for about 30 minutes. Should have taken some relaxing time before hitting the bed. Headache is still with me this morning, maybe it's a detoxing headache. Drank some regular coffee thinking the caffine would help. Let's hope so.

Monet, I feel so bad for you. You were finally losing on a consistant basis. Why do doctor's think they always know what is right. Maybe give him a call and explain.

Bob, congrats to your brother. I agree, why wait. Sure hope your knee is just bruised. When I fell in Nashville, mine hurts for weeks. Sometimes when I get on the floor to dust, it still hurts. Keeping my fingers crossed on the job.

Sillyfluff, Welcome to our group. Looking forward to getting to know you. Do you work in retail? A diet coke here and there won't hurt you. But drink up that water.

Heart, you and I retain water the same way. I was up 7 on Monday, down 5 today and still running to the potty. I wish I knew what caused that. Get back on track. I agree with you, if I didn't diet through the holidays I would gain 20 pounds by Jan 1.

Toni, How are you today? Back into the swing of things?

Tech, what going on with you. Missing your posts.

Gator, Hi girl. We miss you.

Missy, where are you? Are you back on track?

Well better go do some real work. Have a wonderful day. :hugs:

Solly: Take Advil, Motrin or Aleve. It's your only hope.

Monet: What a drag for you with the doctor and the meds. Can you take the whole T4 or is that a dangerous game to play (not taking the doctor recommended dosage)? I'd call him and tell him about the weight gain and aches and pains. Maybe he'll readjust.

Fluff: Welcome to our group! The diet coke wasn't the worst choice, by far...but you're right...water is the best beverage when you can get it. I don't like drinking fountains, either. Yuck.

Laurie: You and I both are going to get splinters from falling on and off the wagon as much as we do! We are our own worst enemies, I think!!

Bob: As much as I wish it would, laundry never washes itself. How are the new specs and how did the X-rays go? You may not have a break, but it may be a crack or something. Best to have it looked at. Congrats on the engagement! I have two nieces that are getting married next year...one in July the other in December. It seems like just last week, my brother and his wife were running in the bedroom everytime Betty had a temperature spike and then they'd come back on the front porch and say, "I hope that one's the one!" And I'd say, "Were you guys just doing what I think you were doing?" Gross! Now both their daughters will be off (hopefully being more discreet about it) doing the same thing before you know it!! Time REALLY flies!!

Well, talk about STRESS!! Yesterday, Kyle went to leave for school and I told him to put on his lace-up sneakers (they're practicing in school tying their shoes), but he insisted on wearing his velcro sneakers...because the boy in his class that is a special needs student is always untying Kyle's shoes and then Kyle gets in trouble for having to re-tye his shoes during stories. So, I wrote his teacher this letter (I talked to the teacher and principal about the special needs kid coming up to Kyle and shaking him really hard and told him I'd like the boy to stop touching my son before school was out for Thanksgiving):

Quote:
Hi Pete:

I've been working on Kyle tying his shoes over vacation. I encourage him to wear his sneakers with laces to school, but this morning he told me that he doesn't want to wear them because Austin always unties them. In addition, Kyle told me that he got in trouble with you for trying to retie them during stories. I would really appreciate it if you would work harder to keep Austin away from my son. Apparently, it's hard enough for Kyle to concentrate in class without Austin's constant obstructions. We are actively teaching Kyle to have respect for, not only others' personal space, but his own as well.
I got this reply:

Quote:
Austin does not untie Kyle's shoes. I think Kyle is starting to use Austin as an excuse. Kyle gets in trouble because of Kyle.

I thought we talked about this during his conference. Kyle needs to pay attention to me and not what others are doing.

I'm glad you practiced tying with your son but I think there might be another reason why he doesn't want to wear laces to school.
Is it me, or do you find that reply to be rude? I forwarded it to the principal (I copied him on the note I sent to the teacher in the first place) and told him I'd like to speak with him at his earliest convenience. So, that was last night. I also sat down with Kyle very quietly and peacefully and asked him again, "Are you sure that Austin unties your shoes or do you just want to wear the velcro shoes because they have Lightning McQueen on them and flashing lights?" And Kyle, very convincingly, told me that he wants to wear velcro so that Austin can't untie his shoes and get him in trouble. So, I ended up having a two-hour conference with the principal and talked about everything from the way the teacher rolls his eyes at me to feeling as though the teacher wants me to believe that Kyle is a social reject (I gave examples why I feel this way). I also told him that my husband wants me to stop Kyle going to school immediately and home school him because of the teacher's attitude towards me. To make a long story only moderately long (you all know, short stories are impossible for me) after two hours of heart-to-heart talking the the principal, I feel a TON better. I'm glad I got it out in the open and the principal told me how sharp he thinks Kyle is and that he's doing very, very well in school and that he's going to explain to the teachers (I mentioned that Kyle's teacher is not the only one...the other teachers were similar when Shelley was going there, as well) to step up their bedside manner (for lack of a better term) with the parents. I don't feel like typing about it anymore, but suffice to say, after our LONG talk last night, I feel much better about things. And the principal gave me permission that if I continue to feel uncomfortable around the teacher, I can feel free to talk to him (the principal) and he'll relay the message. At the end of the day, the important thing is that Kyle simply LOVES going to school, has a gigantic grin on his face when we go there and has to be told to stop running as he goes down the sidewalk to the front door. And that's what matters in the end.

Anyhow...in other news...I may be babysittign a couple kids after school. To the tune of $50 per kid a week! That's grocery money for me!! I'd LOVE it!!

okay...I need to give my fingers a rest...will be back later on.

Morning! I just spent an hour and a half playing with Kaeleb. He is just SO cute! He is figuring out how to use his hands, and gets all excited when he can hold a toy and get it to his mouth. He actually would chuckle when he was able to do it. He is trying to roll all over the place, but still has not quite figured out what to do with his arms. He still fights sleep. Crazy boy.

I removed the masking tape from the trim this morning...only to have it pull off paint it should not have pulled off. Now I have to go find where Tom put the paint and touch up the edges. Grrr. I thought masking tape was such a good idea...I must have done something wrong.

My Byetta is making me really ill this morning. It does such a great job of lowering my bg though...it seems interesting to me that when I am feeling the most nauseated, my blood sugar level is usually too low.

I need to go run a few errands. Catch you all later!

TECH: It seems to me the teacher doesn't want to deal with a student who is more advanced than the rest of the class...so he labels Kyle as a trouble maker. I had to deal with the decision to pull my son out of a highly touted private school when I started homeschooling. Having a supportive husband is a really important factor in successful homeschooling. Here is my take on it...loving school doesn't mean it is the best thing for him. My kids LOVE chocolate cake, but it doesn't mean they should have it for every meal. Kids don't know what is best for them. That is why they have parents. If you want to homeschool Kyle, don't use his loving going to school as a reason NOT to do it. He would LOVE being encouraged and learning at home too. It would just take some adjustment. That said, I think talking to the principal was good. I hope the teacher does not resent it. Maybe Fruitloupe has some pointers for you...she is a first grade teacher.

Sitting here with a cup of hot tea. It tastes so good. The afternoon is flying by. I've got to get into the spare room and see if all the stuff I got for my daughter in laws stocking for Christmas is enough to fill it. We do stockings for each other every year. Tomorrow I'm going to go shopping so it will probably be the last time before Christmas. Hope I've got everything. Tomorrow is our last day of good weather. We're supposed to get sleet, snow and everything. Winter time!!! All I've had to eat was an egg sand. today. I can honestly say I'm not doing good on my eating. I can't seem to get a handle on it. Hope the holiday season isn't a bust.

Hey, guys. Day 2 OP. So easy to pile it on quickly and it never comes off that easily. I did my workout this AM. Had a grapefruit and boiled egg. Had a granny apple and natural PB for my snack. For lunch I had Starkist tuna fillet in the pouch with Green Giant's green beans and almonds. Had a NSA yogurt for dessert. Oh yea, I had a dozen almonds not too long ago. Don't know yet what supper will be but it'll be legal. I'm tired of yo-yoing, but man it is definetly harder to lose this time of year with so many temptations. Alright, I gotta run!

I ran my errands. I spent too much at the ceramic supply place again today. I got some more glaze, some decorative stuff, and a few bats to put stuff on to dry. I really need to stay out of that place, cause I spend WAY too much money! After I left there, I went to the credit union, and then walked down the street to a pottery gallery. I went for inspiration. I can't help being a bit critical too.

It is gray and dark here. I am just dragging. I hope I feel better by Thursday! Of course, it is probably nothing a few ibuprofen can't heal....

I need to go check on dinner...I am fixing a chuck roast in the pressure cooker...later!
