Good morning! I am having a lazy morning. Feeling nauseated..as usual. Where is everyone?
MEMREEZ: Yes, I think water is important. Sometimes too, you have to give it a few weeks to get the sugar out of your system, and for your insulin levels to drop. Also, if you find you are eating legally, but not losing, you can tweak your portions to see if that will help. Personally, I think at first it is best to just get off the sugar, and eat legal stuff, and not worry about portions. THEN, when you are over the sugar withdrawal, start focusing on the portion sizes.

Just got back from my walk to the boat launch. I love that walk. I takes me about 45 mins to an hour and seems to be just enough. The walk to the lighthouse seems to take forever and eats up my entire morning. Breakfast this morning was too much grains, but 1 cup of Kashi Cinnamon Harvest, milk and two slices of WW toast with peanut butter. I'm going to go make a smoothie right now for some fruit. My scale remains broken adn unreplaced, so no weigh-in this morning. I have TOM, anyway, and feel very bloated.
Memreez: Water is really important. It really does help. And eating too much at first, in my opinion, isn't such a big deal as long as it's helping you to break that sugar addiction. Give it a while longer with no sugar, whites and lots of fruits and veggies and you'll see you don't need to eat as much. In fact, you'll find yourself having to force down a healthy snack to keep legal.
Good Morning Monet:
I have to make some phone calls...will be back later with more replies from last week's thread.

Howdy all and Happy Monday. I stayed the same didn't lose didn't gain so sometimes thats okay. I'll take it. Its pretty quiet in my house with my DH on the night shift he sleeps all morning. Boy I hate that, I can't stand having to be quiet. Wish he would just go on regular day shirt. WAAAAA What a whiner I am!!!! I had coffee and a english muffin for breakfast. I need to get some fruit in soon.
memreez- Welcome to the board. Congrads on your first week. Portion control is hard sometimes for me. But I'm with the rest at first I don't worry so much about that. Getting off the sugar is tops. Do you have the book? Water is so important. The more I drink the better I lose.
Techwife- Gosh I wish I was walking with you to the boat launch. Its sounds so nice. Here there is just lots of hills and rocks.
Monet- Bless your heart I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. Hope it goes away soon.
Gosh where is everyone!????

Ughhhhhhhhhh. I went and done it again...I've got a sugar hangover. I don't want to even go into detail about what all I ate yesterday!!!!!!!! It was absolutely terrible. Really bad. Oh, well over and done with! This morning I had a leftover grilled chicken breast and yogurt. For lunch I made a spring mix salad with veggies and leftover chicken. And guess what is for supper? Ditto. Robby made ALOT of chicken on the grill yesterday. That's fine with me today since I could use the lean protein. I got up early to do the 4 mile tape but I just couldn't muster enough energy. So I barely managed to do the 3 mile..but I got it done. I'll check back in later. Have a good day!

Hey! I'm having a slow day today, but tomorrow is Halloween! I love it! I am going to take Monet's idea and carry some of my kids beanie babies with me in a basket or something. I have a flower ring for my head and last night I found a six foot strand of fall leaves in the basement, so I think I will look for something snowy and have the seasons covered as well. I think it will be cute as well as different. Sean has a scary mask and a black robe (how creative!) and Rachel has a headband with one devil horn and a halo on the side, a devil tail and pitchfork, and angel wings. SHe is wearing a t-shirt she got at Christmas last year that says 50%nice and 50%naughty. She should be cute. I did not weigh this morning, so I'll try to remember to do it tomorrow. I thought I was late this morning when I got up and it was already light!

Good morning! I had a bad evening and night...slept poorly and my Byetta made me so sick I got up at about 2am to hurl. I am a bit better now, but getting ready for a job interview so I am kind of afraid to take the Byetta and try and eat anything. I would hate to be nauseated at the interview and give a bad impression!
It sure is quiet in here this week! Come on you guys! Post!
I hope everyone is staying out of the candy today! I never bought any. I may buy a package of bags of cheetos or something...but NO candy! I don't want the temptation around. I thought about getting quarters too...not sure what I will do. We don't get many T&Ters anymore....
I hope when I get back and check in, I won't be talking to myself!

Monet: You know...one place we go to every year gives out the Apple and Eve juice boxes for halloween. No sugar added juice. A lot of the kids really like it and drink it right away...it's tough work out there stomping the streets for candy. You might want to think about that for an option! The McDonald's vouchers are sometimes good, too. If you remember you have them and take them to McD's for their treat.
I'm thinking of wearing my costume tonight and sitting in my rocking chair outside with my bowl of candy...sitting really still so the kids think I'm fake...and then speaking as they take candy..."Only take two, please!" And scare the bejeepers out of them. Kyle's school had a party on Friday night and I dressed up...I was the ONLY MOM in a costume. What a bunch of STIFFS! I dressed up as Dead Mom...I put my hair in hot rollers so it looks nice, wear my black velvet dress with a black velvet hooded cape, paint my face like its dead and carry a black rose. Its fun. I like reliving my childhood.
Okay...gotta run. More replies later on.

Tech- That sounds great! When the kids were younger they would not go to any houses that had any strobe lights or guys on the porch or anything. Only the houses with cute little jackolanterns, etc. Now they are a little more adventurous. I tried to tell Sean that I thought this really needs to be his last year, but he just "pshawed" me! He is 14 and Rachel is 12, but in their mind they will do this forever!!! I love them though!
Rachel goes today at 1:30 to have her braces removed! How's that for a license to eat candy!!! She is so excited. Well, I better go get my work done so I can leave early! Have a great spooky day!!!

I am back. The interview did not take any time at all, and I stopped at Whole Foods on the way home. I still need to go to Publix, and pick up a few things, but then I can relax.
I liked the school. The man who interviewed me is the principal and also teaches middle school social studies. I like that their administrators are also involved with the classroom. The school I was at last year was not like that. The headmistress sat in her office or walked around all day and generally came up with stupid, outlandish rules that the kids had to follow...things like no sweat jackets were allowed in the halls. The jackets matched their uniforms, and had a logo on it, but she did not like the way it looked, so they had to leave them in the classrooms! This school is four times as large, and seems to be well run, and well disciplined. The art room is large, and has potential. The art teacher was working with the kids, and seemed like a sour puss. She had the kids doing skulls for Dia Del Muerta. I was appalled. It did not sound like a project well suited to the age group she had, and not very classic art oriented. They definitely want to put me on their sub list. I will think on that, but will probably do it.
Whole Foods was fun. The new store is very nice, and large. I got some shrimp to fix for dinner tonight, with some fresh vegetables. I will pick up more at the grocery store in a bit. WF is VERY pricey now that they moved to this new location. I miss the old Harry's/WF and their prices! Their eggs are now 30 cents more a dozen, their milk went up 10 cents a gallon, their butter went up 80 cents a pound... Not much reason to shop there when I can get organic stuff at Costco for less.
I hope everyone is staying away from the candy!

Well no candy here. We live so far out in the sticks we don't have little ones come around. Good thing because if its in the house I'll eat it. For some crazy reason DH and I bought Apple Turnovers when we grocery shopped Sat. and of course I couldn't stop till they were gone. Geez whats wrong with me I knew better than that. I'm having a hard time right now for some reason with my exercise. I can't seem to make myself get on the treadmill. With Steve's new hours he sleeps till afternoon so I can't walk on it till then. Sorry I'm gripeing things will get better I know. Opps got to go Steve is awake and I'll need to make breakfast for him.... Be back in awhile.

I just got in from the store. I got the small snack bags of chips, fritoes, doritos etc. to give out tonight. Anything that is left can be used for lunches.
I am pleased that I did not purchase any candy to hand out. I always find it a temptation. Now I don't have to worry about it.
Ok, if the rest of you all would come back from where ever you are hiding I would feel MUCH better. Where has Solly gotten off to? How long did BOB say she would be gone? And where has Gator gone? She did not even get on to gloat over the Gator's win over Georgia! I hope all is ok with her.... Talitha, Fruit, Thunder, Pancho, Kengjw....hope you are all ok! Just another week until the elections, and then hopefully Fillise will be back....

Hi everyone,
Sorry I have been MIA. Life has been at a stand still here at this moment. Last Sat, while I was at my neighbor's house for dinner, I found out thru the local news that my "former" friend had shot her ex-husband and now being held custody by the police without bond. Their 6 year old dd is now in the care of the social services. I used "former" because few months before, my former friend and I had decided that we should not continue our friendship. I thought it was for the best because I felt I had nothing to offer her anymore.
Monet, you might have heard of the shooting in NCR Peachtree City last Thursday. Dh and I are still in shocked.
I am going to lay low for a little while......but I will be back. I just want to let everyone know where I am
Have a good week
Julia
