Howdy all' Happy Friday all. We went grocery shopping yesterday. I still wasn't feeling well so drove the electric cart. While my DH put stuff in a cart. So I'm all stocked in. I'm trying to make a loaf of sour dough bread right now. I put the stuff in my bread maker but then bake it in the oven. I sure hope it turns out. I'm excited by it. We got some rain this morning. So its a nice fall day out. This is pizza night or I would make a pot of beans. I've been hungry for some. Found ww english muffins yesterday so had one today for breakfast. It was sure good for a change.

Thunderwoman- So sorry about the death in your family.

Julia- Oh I don't blame you for being glad the dentist is done.... We had rotissare chicken for dinner last night. Sure was glad for an easy dinner after shopping.

Talitha- Wow you're doing great. Keep up the good work.

It sure is quiet here today. I'll check back later.

Sonja, sorry to hear about your family's loss. I hope you can all give each other comfort.

It is quiet here today! I finally got on here at work, I had a brief moment and thought I'd pop in. Everyone must be busy busy busy! I can relate! I'll check back later on today or over the weekend.

Hey, everyone! We got in about two hours ago. I have unpacked some stuff, gotten my Kaeleb fix, and had a can of soup for dinner. I went to check my email and get on the board, and my computer monitor flaked out on me. Tom is in the middle of a project, so when he is done, he is going to try the spare monitor we have on my computer to see if it helps. If not, I may need a new graphics card. Unfortunately, we left the computer hardware expert up in the mountains with his sister and brother in law....

We got some hiking in, and relaxed. They had a hot tub, which we made good use of. The cabin was on the side of a mountain outside Franklin, NC, and it was breathtakingly beautiful. I got some pictures, but my camera was acting up. James took a lot, so I hope between the two of us, we got something worthwhile.

We were not stellar in the eating department. On the way up, apples were figuring prominently in the advertising on the road, so the guys coerced Erik into fixing homemade apple pies three nights in a row. He did use some whole wheat pastry flour, and very little sugar, but it was still not totally legal. I tried to eat a small piece, but only succeeded doing that the second and third nights!

I am amazed at how much Kaeleb has changed in five days! He was very alert this evening and happy. He actually went to sleep without crying and being fussy. I so enjoyed snuggling with him when I first got home.

MOON RAVEN: We are glad you are here! I hope we can give you all the support you need to reach your goals! Reading the book will help, but please feel free to ask any and all questions you have! We will do whatever we can to help you. I think it has already been mentioned, but I will repeat it....you have to fight like a tiger to get off the sugar, but once you do, the cravings go away. Prepare for your battle with having legal snacks on hand, and having a game plan. Have ideas on distracting yourself to begin with. I found knitting, and reading helped. Knowing I was determined to get over the hold sugar had on me helped too when I was being pulled by the thought of sugar. Once you get over it, it is amazing how freeing it can be to NOT be addicted to the stuff. I have gotten to the point where I can take it or leave it. I have to be careful not to overindulge, or I am fighting a battle again, but I feel like I am in control now. And boy does it feel great!

THUNDER: I am so sorry about your step dad's father. I will definitely be praying for your family.

GIN: Yay on losing two pounds! That is great! Especially since you don't have a lot to lose!

KENG: Good to see you! My, I can't believe Chris is one already! And Jess is in kindergarten! Wow...

PANCHO: I confess, I laughed too reading your hamster story. Lane was just destined to have a dog! I hope it works out well. I will be praying for you and your biopsy.

BOB: I hope you feel better soon!

SOLLY: I am glad you slept well, and enjoyed the bunko party. I think we will do a bunko tournament at church sometime this fall...bunko has fond memories for me.

FILLISE: Don't worry about the paper. Ruth and I shamed Tom into promising me I can order some on HIS credit card!

GATOR: I snickered at your Methodist comment...since I knew Fillise was Presbyterian...I see she set you straight! If her church was PCA BEATING R.C. might have been a tactical error...thankfully, they are PCUS, so she might not mind.

TECH: I think the office was a bit out of line. I do know though, that in Middle school they have to be really tight with rules to keep the kids under control. I was so glad when I got my student teaching assignment that it did NOT include middle school...its the worst age to teach! The hormones are beginning to rage, and the teachers are hoping to just keep from losing ground for those years, and get the kids ready for high school.... I am sorry you over did your walk. Do build up to it. Maybe do it every other day until you can handle the long walk easily. I do my long three mile once or twice a week right now, and two miles the other days. Of course, with vacation, I did not even get in my usual two mile!

TONI: I am sorry you were not feeling up to snuff at the grocery store. I hope you are better now, and able to do your treadmill. Is it helping you to feel stronger?

HEART: I am glad Boogie is doing well. I hope the D&C takes care of the problems...

FRUIT: I am glad the visits are only one a month...no need to confuse Lexie....I am sure she views YOU as her mommy....and Terry as her daddy. I am praying it all works out well, and is resolved quickly and easily.

Ok, I need to go try and solve my computer problems. Tom said he would help me, so I better get him to while he is still in a good mood!

I didn't exercise today like I wanted to...but I got a lot of housework done. Not a whole lot of fun but it needed to be done. Kind of a gray day here too.

Years ago I played bunko with a group of friends...maybe I'll see if I can start that up again with some friends I have here. I remember that it wasn't so much about the game as much as the socializing and enjoying friendship!

Looks like a lot of you are not feeling well--laryngitis and strep, and a wicked stomach flu are going around here. I hope I don't catch it but I usually catch something, working in the schools with kids.

Monet your trip sounds like it was fantastic!!! I'll bet it was nice to get away.

I think I will go to church tomorrow. I need a spiritual "workout." Having boyfriend issues and that is never fun. He is a nice guy but lots of problems right now. I told him today that we needed to put things on hold until there are some changes (which I doubt will happen, no one ever changes, especially at our age!). But we'll see. All I know is it's not working right now. Life goes on, eh?

I hope everyone starts feeling better soon!!! If it's nice tomorrow I'm going to try and go for a walk. Talk to you all soon!

Ginger

Well, We're back, but have been very busy so I have just now found time to get on! we got home yesterday just in time to change clothes and head out to the stadium. We had our first lost, but you win some you lose some! Then this morning Rachel's dance school performed at Riverfest which is a huge arts and craft show. We wentto the dance store for new pointe shoes, out to dinner tonight and to the grocery store. I'm pooped!

We had a great time on the beach! We had rain two days but it did not last the entire day, so no problem. Rachel started her period for the first time while we were down there, so that was fun (not!) So far she has not complained about feeling bad, and maybe it is almost over now. I give her a couple of months before the real cramps and "yucky" feeling kicks in. I heard back from the endocrinologist and they do not want to waste any time with the weight gain problem, they will see her this Monday afternoon! They would have even seen her this week if we had been home. I hope they can find an answer to the problem and treat it if needed.

Well, I think I'm ready for bed now. Have a goodnight everyone!

Just a fly by....we got the computer problem somewhat solved...we exchanged the monitors. I hate this one. It is half the size of my old one. I hope I can convince Tom to let me get a bigger one, instead of limping along with this.

On a good note, Tom finished the plumbing in our bathroom, repaired the walls and replaced the vanity and sink yesterday. Now there is one length of about six feet of polybutylene pipe left in the house... yay!

Later! Espresso time!

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!!

I worked yesterday and today to make up my day on Thursday. Yesterday morning after a rather sleepless night, I went in at 4:45 a.m. and stayed until 10 a.m. Today, I went in at 7:30 a.m. and stayed until 1:30 p.m. I got a lot done with no one there.

When I got home today, Kate wanted to go get her hair cut so we went and I got mine done too! Feels so much better! We're fixing a pot of PINTO BEANS and some COLLARD GREEN'S for supper. I've got to grill up some chicken so I better get some out of the freezer and get started.

THIN...Glad y'all had a good time and are home safe and sound. Let me know what the DOC says Monday. I need to go to one here and get some
knowledge on why I can't lose weight...I know there is something wrong, but just have put off going...

Later!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH...

Ok, a good friend, who means well, brought over some apple crisp as "comfort food" because of my problems I've been having with my BF. I thanked her, thinking that I would throw it out after she left, but did I? NO................I took one bite, which turned into half the pie plate it was in. @#%#^$%@! Now I feel sick. I haven't eaten anything like that in about 2 weeks! I'm sure I'll pay for it, I can already feel myself sliding into a sugar coma. Now I'm all ticked off at myself. I guess all I can do is take some antacids and climb back on the wagon tomorrow. I just hate it that I have so little self control that I can't have one bite of something like that without it turning into a binge.
