Challenges! Challenges! Challenges!
Exercise! At least four times for the week for however long you can...and POST it! (the exercise board has been looking pretty impressive ladies! )
Try a new recipe. You can get it off here, or adjust one to be ok for SB. If you adjust one, and it is good, please post it on the recipe board. Share your experience!
Share something that makes you smile. It can be anything...but tell us what it is and why it makes you smile.

Good morning! I did not sleep as late as I would have liked, but I am not going to complain. I only woke up once or twice, which is a vast improvement over the norm...maybe things are improving in that department. If cherries help, I am going to be pretty excited. I can use them in a morning smoothie, since you can get them frozen.
MMM was a good one. I was not down any more than I was the other day when I changed my ticker, but I was down a total of four this week...the two I had gained and two more. I have not been this low since before my surgery! I had hoped it would be another pound...and my scale looked like it was thinking about it, but it settled on the higher number. (the bum!)
I need to suit up and head out to walk. I will return later.
SEF: No, my tears were of joy to see you back. I miss you when you don't post. If your blood sugars are not well controlled it can make you tired. I slept all the time before I was diagnosed. I thought it was my thyroid....
TECH: Man, what a roller coaster on the jobs. Never a dull moment at your house! Is Shelley able to talk yet after her concert experience, or is she still stuttering in excitement?
Ok, off to get this rolly polly behind moving...

Still stuck on MMM! I was down within one pound of my ticker on Saturday then tom came for a visit and now I'm back up three . I will keep checking then adjust my ticker sometime this week and start anew (again!)
The game Friday night was great. I had forgotten how exciting high school football could be. We played Athens Christain Academy (you SEC girls know where Athens is! ) and we won 20-14! The band was fabulous and we're looking forward to another win this week!
Hope all of you girls stay out of the course of Ernesto!

Hello all my SB friends,
Hope your week will be a wonderful one.
My MMM is 3 pounds loss for the week. I actually weighed before the weekend and posted it as a 3 pound loss, and didn't lose any more over the weekend. But I'm happy with the loss.
It has been eye opening to deal with the thought that all that will power wasn't working very well over the past several years. I finally am having success. Still sticking to SB principles -- no white stuff!
I think this might be the last week the construction guys are here. Most is all done except for the painting and a small caulking or adjustment here and there.
We've been keeping our eye on Arnesto, the first hurricane. Right now it has weakened and I hope it continues in that direction. We have plans to drive to Gainesville for the weekend for the first Gator game.
We spent the weekend out at one of the resorts near Disney to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. Highlight of the weekdend: eating at a fancy restaurant that served us a 7 course dinner, if you count the "amuse bouche". I was afraid that it was going to be an insurmountable challenge for me, but fortunately, all the courses were small. The first couple of courses were about the size of a silver dollar. My favorite was the roasted foie gras, (duck liver) which I just ADORE!! By the 5th course I was starting to feel "satisfied" and still had 2 courses to go!!!! The cheese course had 3 tiny pieces of cheese (about the size of 1/2 thimble) and some champagne grapes (tiny ones about the size of ball bearings), and then I had ordered fresh berries for dessert instead of the fancy ones listed on the menu. And I just had a couple of the berries. So I didn't gain any weight over the weekend. I was really happy about that. I think if the first course had come and had been larger in size, I would have just eaten about 1/3 of each, to get a taste.
Well, I haven't had breakfast yet, so will close and go eat.

Well, as you may know, I'm still on a MMM hiatus...but I did step on the scale this weekend and I'm still well below 160, so THAT's a good thing. If Derek gets this job he's interviewing for on Wednesday, then I'll be able to stay at home and write my book and I have my plans to go walking to the lighthouse and back everyday with my pal, Junior and be strict on the plan with eating. I had wonderful chicken and black bean burritos that weren't exactly on plan, so I won't post the recipe
Shelley is going to be downright miserable to live with this week. I was planning on rescheduling our trip to Rochester this week, but I've reconsidered as this is our last week off before school starts a week from tomorrow and I don't really want to spend it on the road. I just want to hang out at home with the kids...maybe go to the beach at my mom's and maybe go to Water Safari with the kids (a waterpark about an hour from here). I think Shelley should be happy with that and if she's not, I may not take them to Water Safari. She's gone to Darien Lake (a six flags park), the NYS Fair to see Jesse, amongst other things...many, many trips on the boat, overnighters with girlfriends...she's had a full summer and just because we aren't going someplace out of town, I don't want to hear it from her. I"m fully expecting her to give me the 'I've broken a promise' routine because I did promise her when I cancelled our trip to Rochester to be able to go to my interview for Study Hall Monitor that we'd go to Rochester this week, but that was before we found out that Derek was losing his job and all that and now is as good a time as any for her to learn the 'barring any unforseen catastrophes' routine from ME. And we spent SO MUCH MONEY at the fair, with Derek's employment up in the air, I just can't justify another $200+ trip.
Anyhow...yesterday I stayed in my pajamas until I had to go out to buy milk at around 3pm. We have three Nintendo DS systems in our house (they are handheld) and Derek, Shelley and I were all playing Tetris on them together. It's so addicting! We have three of them so that we can all interact with each other on them.
Last night I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about the book I'm going to write when Kyle goes to school. I have it all planned out. The first chapter is going to be AWESOME. Second chapter, too. I can't wait to get started on it...but I'll need a couple people to proofread my chapters for me...any takers? Let me know...once I get it started, I'll e-mail you a chapter at a time for critiquing...
Okay...have to run. I still have phone calls to make. And a weekend-weary house to clean...

I got my walk in, had a smoothie and some steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. I even spent some time trying to figure out how to organize my MP3 player. I don't think it can be done. It is a great little player, but the controls are a bit awkward. I get frustrated if I push the button just wrong and menu options pop up that I can figure out how to use, or get out of. I need to go read the instructions again...
TECH: ME ME! Pick me! I am a great proof reader. I will do it!

Happy Monday Sugar Bustin Ladies
Hope everyone is ready to have a great OP week.
Weekend was good and eating was good. MMM has me the same as last week, but on Sat I was down 2 more pounds. But I only took 1 diuretic yesterday and maybe Sat (pretty bad when you can't remember if you take your pills or not) so I am probably retaining some extra water. We will see I took an extra one this morning.
My DD is doing WW with me (not going to meetings) but eating by the points. She has done so great. Only lost 7 lbs so far, but she has willpower like no other. Drug reps bring food in their office twice a week and they celebrate every birthday out. she has passed on many desserts and food and made great choices when they go out. I am so proud of her. She had gotten 6 more people in the office to do it with her. That should really help.
I thought my oldest was going do to it, but I noticed yesterday she ate some birthday cake and other things. She is not one to talk about it so I just let it go. She has to want to do it.
Monet, congrats on the 4 lbs. You are doing so good and especially with your exercise. I have never heard that about cherries. I'm not wild about them. I did sleep all night last night, which is a mircle in itself. I was really tired all day yestrday. Kaleab is such a doll. He really does look older that a week. When I first looked at it, I saw you in him.
Gator, congrats on your 3 lbs loss and your eating at the resort. That is great. I wish I could learn to know when I am satisfied or full. If it is there, I want it. Counting the points has really helped me. When I see how many points something is, I don't want it. I'm looking forward to the start of football this weekend.
Thin, TOM can mess up the scale. Don't worry about it, it will disappear quickly. I'm ready for football to start too. I like summer, but getting tired of the routine.
Off to get some fruit. Have a great day.

Howdy; Going to have to hurry Dh will be home any minute for lunch. It stormed all week end so I couldn't get on the computer. I'm happy to say I lost 1 lb. this week. I wish I could do that or better every week. Its like pulling teeth to get a lb. off me. DH made that 40 cloves of garlic chicken this week end. It was really good. But he doesn't think he'll make it again. He also made us wonderful grilled cheese and ham on sour dough bread. Yummy! Don't know why he was in a cooking mood, he never does that. But I sure enjoyed someone else being in the kitchen. Think I'll make salads with chicken on it for dinner with the leftover chicken.
Monet- Congrads. on the 4 you're doing so great.
Solly- good for you too. WW seems to be just what you needed...
Tech- I hope so hard Derek gets the job.
Gator- Wow three lbs. WAy to go!
Thin- You'll have a loss next week when Tom is gone....

Toni--Congratulations on the pound loss! That's great.
I have a recipe for baked chicken with 40 cloves of garlic. Actually, it is cornish hens with 40 cloves of garlic. I just love it. Lots of roasted garlic and a lemony light sauce that you make at the end. I wonder if it is the same recipe. My DH and I can share one cornish hen; 1/2 is just right for each of us.

Howdy!! :)
Hey everyone... I just wanted to drop in and tell you all that I'm still kicking!
I'm doing fantastic with sticking OP, and I have not missed a day at Curves (except Sunday, they're closed!) in over 5 weeks now!! I'm so excited! I did my weigh and measure day and I was down 6 pounds, and 11.5 inches total!
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOoo
Anyway... BOTH of my computers have crashed now and I have no way to get online at home, so I'm sneaking on at work right now.. LOL
I'm hanging in there and sticking to SB like a good girl
Hope everyone is doing great.. and I'll try and check in later!

Toni, great going on the lb. I'm like you, have to struggle to lose 1. Any time DH wants to cook would be fine with me, but mine only goes as far as grilling.
Tech, glad Shelley wasn't disappointed in not going to Rochester. Kids never re-act the way you think they will.
Beth, so glad to see your post and you are doing fantastic Keep up the good work. Drop in when you can.
Just checking in for a minute. No gym for me tonight as it is the last VB game for the girls. It is tournament. I'm sort of hoping they lose so we don't have to stay there half the night. Is that bad? If we get home early enough, I may hit the treadmill or something else.
Have a great evening.

Quick hurricane update: They're saying now that Ernesto is mainly going to effect the southeastern tip of Florida (Miami-ish) and that the main threat is to the Carolinas when it goes into the Gulf Stream (which is a great source of warm water) and refuels into hurricane strength. Should be fun for my oldest neice...she just moved there a month ago to Raliegh, NC.
Okay...talk to you guys later!!
