Default Challenges!

Its the hot summer doldrums...try a new salad recipe and share it!

Exercise! Yeah, right! When it is so hot, it is hard to be motivated, isn' t it? Ok, so try something new. Weights, walking at a mall, water aerobics. Post it. How did you like it?

Give yourself a reward! Plan it, share it, and do it!

Default Mmm

It is Metal Monster Monday.

I am pleased to report a two pound loss. This brings me to a total of eleven since starting on the lizzie three weeks ago.

I hope everyone else has a good report.

I thought I had stayed pretty much the same this week, but I am up 6 lbs!! I hope a lot of it is water weight, so maybe next week will be better! and of course, it is raining this morning, so no walk for now. I wanted to accomplish so much this summer, and I weigh more now than I did in the beginning. I guess the only way to move is forward though, nothing I can do about the past.

Good mornign from the Eternally Pregnant Woman. I can't beleive it. TOday is my due date. Is he hever coming out? If I ever hear someone say "Oh, once you have early babies, they'll always be early." I think I may spit at them. BOth of my other kiddos were over 2 weeks old by now.

So, I'm going to the Farmer's MArket with my sister to try to walk around some. My whole body hurts and I just don't think I can do too much. I want to sleep and pout all day. But I'm going to move around as much as I can.

My car is dead, so I can't go to water aerobics. We went looking at new cars yesterday. I jsut don't want a car payment again But we liked the FOrd Freestyle. It's more like a wagon than a van, but still seats 7. We'll see. We aren't buying anything until after this munchkin comes. If I end up in the hospital instead of at home we will owe $4,000-6,000. The loner I go, the more of a possibility that is.

I'm going to get some fruit and veggies at the market and try to get back to healthy eating. I only gianed 1 more lb last week.

Good morning, everyone. Its me, the lady with the rotting, achy boobs. Well, they seem to be a little better this morning because I got my period last night, but they still hurt more this month than ever before. I bought decaf coffee and put half decaf and half high test in the filter bin for starters. I have my appointment tomorrow for this list:

Rotting, old, aching boobs
Big, red spot on my boob that looks like a weird bite (not from my husband I wouldn't have minded that!!)), but more like a rash
Ringworm spot on my upper inner thigh
Foot and toenail fungus

I feel like I'm rotting away here. I'm only FORTY!! Maybe I should just start taking Geritol now and get it overwith. Anyone got a spare walker I can borrow? Or a cane?

Gator: I agree with the Lamisil, if it were just my toenails I were worried about. But I'm thinking that maybe someing LIKE Lamisil could knock out the fungus among me and help get rid of the tendancy toward ringworm, too. I think they go hand in hand, myself...but I admit to not being an expert by any means. Its really embarassing when you take your kids to the local pool, sit on the side in your swimsuit, look down and see this red ring on your thigh and imagining all the women and children screaming with their hands flailing from the pool in fear of me jumping in the pool and starting a ringwork pandemic! Not that any bacteria (or whatever) could survive the massive amounts of chlorine they put in public pools...I'm surprised human life can survive it...but I really start to think I'm looking really diseased with my scaly, sore covered feet, and red rings. Its embarassing...and relatively unhealthy.

Anyhow...I'm up a couple. This weekend was French Festival and I get a little carried away with teh French Pastries. Shelley was in the marching band and looked adorable.

Gotta run...talk to you later on....

Good Monday morning ladies.

Eating was decent over the weekend. At the wedding only had 2 chicken fingers and 5 meatballs and some fruit. I had 1 piece of pizza later at a friend's house. Yesterday, I made lasagna, but it was legal. I'm down this week from last Monday, but up since Friday.

Monet, you are doing so great with the new med. I hope it continues. You have to be so motivated after not losing for so long.

Talitha, will they induce you if you do not go soon? Or can they not do that with home births? Hang in there, the little guy just isn't ready to greet the world.

Thin, sorry about the gain, but vacations will do that. Just keep on track and you will be fine.

Tech, please have those boobs checked out. I don't want to scare you, but the signs of IBC (Inflamatory breast cancer) are redness and soreness. Please do so research on the net about it. Better safe than sorry. Take it from someone that's been there.

Got to get busy, have a great day, I make check back later. :hugs:

Solly: That's what my appoitment is for tomorrow. I asked to have a mammogram done and I hope (for their sake) they don't pull the old, "We'll call and make an appointment for sometime in October" routine. I want to be seen tomorrow. No excuses. I'm sick of not being able to sleep at night from worrying about not living to see my kids grow up.

Good morning ladies...

My friend Barb came out and walked with me this morning, and I am happy to say that we shaved 5 minutes off our normal time!! We use Buddy as our pace car.....he was really moving along this a.m. Am planning on doing Pilates this evening.

We spent Saturday at my Grandma's for our usual family get together. Then I took Mom and dh over to the park for the Saturday concert. Country and Western this time. The band was good, although a bit loud for Mom. We ended up moving farther away so that she could stand it. It is no fun to have to sit and cover your ears.........next Saturday is Rhythm and Blues. My Sister and her kids will be here and so will Ken and Vicky. Should make a nice evening for all of us.

Yesterday was spent cleaning my house. Since picking berries and painting, the inside has been a bit neglected. I will try and hit it from top to bottom this week so that I don't have to do anything while the kids are here.

Monet-- Congrats!!! I am so pleased that your new meds seem to be doing the trick for you. You sure do inspire the rest of us with your do or die attitude!! Thanks!!

Thin-- Hang in there!! Yes, forward is the way.......

Talitha-- I was soooo hoping that we had a baby!! Hang in there, can't be much longer.......and then you'll totally forget about all this uncomfortable time.

Tech-- You sound as bad as me.....only mine is just the aching......my TOM arrived this morning too. I am so ready to be done with all this!!!

Solly-- Welcome back, how was the trip?? Hope that you had a great time and was able to enjoy yourself. We missed you while you were gone.

Well, that's it for now. See you all tomorrow!!

Good morning all; Back from my birthday week end at my sisters. It was great and we had so much fun. I got money from my sis and dh so we went shopping at Kohl's. I loved it. Got me some new black jeans, a purse and wallet plus a new watch I'd been wanting. It was so much fun. Of course the visiting was the best part. Well they tried and couldn't get the treadmill in our little car. But they put it in the back of my sis's explorer and they're going to bring it down in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. Think I'll have DH dig the old one out and then I can use it till the new one comes. I finally weighted this morning and am starting my day out finally back on SB. I'm excited to be eating right. It took a long time for me to get back on track. This morning I had toasted english muffin. Whole wheat.... and some coffee. I've got to get back in the routine of eating a good breakfast. But I'm still a little tired from the trip. My sis sent home some beautiful lean roasted pork I think I'll have for lunch with a salad. Then tonight DH is buying me dinner out and it will be a chef salad. We've finally got some rain today which is so nice.... Well better run, I've got suitcases to unpack.

I'm bummed!! I got up this morning and weighed expecting to see a loss after staying 100% OP this past weekend(yes, I really did!), and I got rewarded with a 2 pound GAIN...what the heck gives I know there is no other explanation except for fluid gain. It still sucks. Then I tried to do a workout this AM and felt sooo tired that I only did 15 minutes before giving up. I did break a sweat though, so better than nothing. Since I had the time this morning, I went ahead and made tonight's supper and that's also what I ate for breakfast, lol(meatloaf and squash). I'm going to try and do a 1 mile workout(15 min) this evening when I get home. We'll see. At least that will total up 30 min for the day. Here's my menu for the day:

Pre-bf: grapefruit
BF- meatloaf and squash
Lunch- Smart Ones LC dinner
Snack-yogurt
Supper- meatloaf and squash(cooked with red peppers and onions in mac. nut oil)
Dessert- probably a NSA fudge pop

Alright, I gotta run!

Hi everyone,
Sorry I'm late. It has been a busy day, what with the workmen, doing laundry, getting ready to pack, weight lifting, getting my hair cut, etc. I was down one pound, but I weighed right after I got out of bed, so it might have been down another pound if I had waited a little later to weigh. The workmen were here and i just had to get going--and get dressed. I actually was down 2 pounds Saturday morning, but I wanted Monday to be official. Eating has been good. I have been working very hard at eating less--that is, eating only until I am satisfied. It is amazing how little it takes to fill me up now. I had lunch with my DH at a Chinese place, and had half of the lunch plate, and will have the other half for dinner. It was shrimp and broccoli and some rice. And a regular portion of the shrimp and broccoli--not one of those platters that will feed 4!

We are leaving Thursday for 2 weeks out of town--in Canada. I'll miss y'all. But, will be here for 2 more days.

HI Everyone!

I'm a newbie! Decided to give Sugar Busters a try. I've been trying to just plain cut the sugar and watch the fat and I have lost a couple of pounds but I've also had some days of binging on sugar. I've tried another diet for sugar addiction but didn't seem to fit. The SB plan seem more doable and now that I've discovered Agave nectar I'm ready to try again.

Wanted to know if someone could answer a few questions for me. I was looking at whole wheat spaghetti and one of the ingredients was whole wheat blended with semolina. Isn't semolina white flour? Also is bleached wheat flour okay? What about soy flour? Also I've seen people on the board talk about hew a limited amount of whites is acceptable? What's that about?

Thanks for the help

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

This new job is really doing "a job" on me....for over 30yrs, I've only been concerned with the front end of the Admitting process in the Medical field. This job is the complete reverse. I can't get everything to click and I'm getting really frustrated! I know it's only been a month, but in that month, I was out for surgery and then got the flu the very next week, so I missed 7 days combined for those two things and then we were closed the 3rd and 4th for the holiday. I know that Rome wasn't built in a day, but I swear, I feel like a big ole dumb *** girl!

TECH...I have a friend in Lexington who has the same problem as you're having with your boobs. Hers turned out to be cysts that would be problematic for her lifetime. Her husband is a Doc and he checked with one of his Plastics buddys and they decided to completely clean out her boobs and do implants. He said having more children wouldn't be a problem, but breast feeding would be. They elected to to the boob job and she has been symptom free ever since. I know you don't want to spend the money for that right now, but it's something to put in the back of your mind.

TALITHA...I've got the BIG OLE BABY MAGNET out and ready to go...From this distance, we should be able to get him out in record time!

LAURIE...water is water....it too shall pass!!!

TONI...Glad you had a ..Sorry I'm late with the wishes!!

GATOR...where in CANADA are you going? Have a great time! Get some rest. With all you've been dealing with at home, it's well deserved!!!!

COLLEEN...YOU GO GIRL!!!

JACKIE...Where are the

THIN...I'm right there with you GIRLFRIEND...with this job, all I'm doing is stress eating!!!

I'm off to fix some supper...don't know what it will be, but I'll be digging!!!

Hey, BOB, what am I? Chopped liver? You reply to everyone but me? I think I will go crawl in a hole and cry myself to sleep!

TECH: I will be anxious to hear what they say....but SOLLY is right...I got an email about IBC just today, and it is important you get that checked out. A mammogram will NOT show IBC according to what I read....it has to be done with a biopsy. Insist on it.

I need to go to bed. I will reply to everyone else in the morning...

TALITHA, You have Travis call me, hear?

WICK: White is NEVER legal... I am not sure where you read that, or what they were referring to. Semolina is legal if it is true semolina. That pasta would be legal if it were 100% semolina, or blended with whole wheat flour. If it is bleached, it is not legal. Soy flour is ok, but as I said on the other thread you asked about soy on, you need to be careful with soy. It can hinder your thyroid function, which is like shooting yourself in the foot. On the agave, only use it sparingly. You want to get over the addiction to sweets before you can handle the legal sweet stuff. Once you are over the cravings and can handle it, it is much easier to deal with it. Before you are in control, you are just asking for trouble eating legal sweet stuff. Stick with fresh fruits.

Ok, time for beddie bye! Sweet dreams my friends!
