Hi all. Just got back from taking James to the eye dr. He needs glasses. Very farsighted. Anyway, he's OK with it for now. When his glasses are in and he actually has to wear them we'll see... Stopped by the house before coming back to school. There was no need in rushing back since I had to take a half day anyway. Dennis fixed lunch for me. That man can cook. Stir fried a couple of boneless chicken breasts with red bell peppers served on a bed o lettuce. It was toooo good. Now if I can keep being this good all day....
KIMMY: Size 8 after 5 kids??? I'm trying to get into size 12 after 3 kids. Of course when you have kids when you're old like me, well things don't go back like they were. Sorry you have sick ones and aren't feeling too good yourself.
BUSDEB: Loved the pictures. Beautiful place. I'm looking forward to spring break in one more week. We won't be going anywhere, but we are planning on blessing the grannys with over night visits from all the kids. When I asked my mom about it she said "ALL THREE???" Keep in mind that my mom is 80 y/o. So my three can really be a challenge to keep up with.
Sorry I didn't get to you all. Best wishes to TV. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Afternoon Ladies!!
I can't believe how many of us just feel "icky" and unmotivated. Do you think it has to do with the bad / cold weather we are all having? Yesterday was the first time since I started SB that I wanted to just snack and cheat on everything. I felt blahh and was thinking back to how I used food for comfort before. I ate legal yesterday but also had a lot of legal snacks and by the time I went to bed I was mad at myself - sooooo weak - no willpower. Anyway today its the same thing but I'm staying focased. Its like I am going to battle with the weather blues - I WILL WIN Boy, it better warm up soon. We are due for a week of this weather. We ended up with an inch of snow yesterday but its gone now. So back to my original question for all the long time SBers - do you find weather plays a factor in your outlook?
Beth - The pumpkin muffins sound good - how did they taste? My kids love pumpkin so I'll definately try that recipe out.
Gracious - I know what you mean about freezing. I just can't get warm. I think my blood is still used to Guam weather (we just moved from there this past summer - there it is hot 365 days of the year). When I was growing up we heated with wood too. I remeber getting up lots of mornings to a fire that went out. We had a backup heater but my dad was a true light the fire kinda guy.
Ves - congrats on the loss
jmuir - I've been thinking about getting a new digital scale too but was afraid of the different numbers. I say just add 5 to your start weight.
BusDeb - how beautiful. Was it a second honeymoon?
Whats everyone having for dinner tonight? We'll be having steak, sweet potaoes and a salad. I have never liked sweet potaoes - just too sweet. Anyway now I cube them, coat them with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper - very yummy and takes the super sweetness away.
TTFN

Gracious - The seven grams of sugar in the tomato sauce shouldn't be a problem as it is a naturally occurring sugar. Remember tomatoes are classified as a fruit. As long as there is no added sugar it is o.k. I'll be checking out the PC Splendido on my next trip to Loblaws.
Pooch - Yes, weather certainly affects my moods. I feel 100 times better if it is a bright sunny day, even if we have lots of snow and it is very cold. The sun can really lift the spirits. It is the damp, overcast days that I find depressing.
Jmuir - My ds recently bought a digital scale which weighs me 5 1/2 pounds heavier than my mechanical scale. It's kind of strange though. When my ds weighed himself there was only a difference of about 3 1/2 pounds (he's quite a bit lighter than me) and my 6 year old grandson who weighs 47 1/2 pounds weighed exactly the same on both scales! Anyway for now I am weighing on both scales and still using the figure from the old scale. I will probably stick to the digital eventually, but not until I have lost some more! But regardless of which scale I use it won't alter the fact that I have lost 42 pounds since starting this woe! I had my own digital scale a few years ago but it didn't have any indication of when the battery was getting low. I ended up gaining again before I realised there was a problem with the scale. I ended up throwing it out with the garbage. At least this new scale does have a low battery indicator.
Marie.

Good Afternoon
OK, I think I have time for a longer post this afternoon.
I called the vet a little while ago and Miss Belle had just come out of surgery. She is doing fine and can come home tomorrow. Fortunatly one of my friends is one of the vets on duty today, so she promised to look out for Belle for me.
Frog--I hope everything goes well for Dixie tomorrow. I know exactly how she feels about those teeth cleanings! They are pretty traumatic for me too!
Pooch--I'm going out for Chinese food tonight. The egg drop soup should be ok and papper steak or chicken and shrimp. I will avoid the rice, and noodles and anything labeled sweet and sour! Tomorrow night is the real problem, I'm going to a banquet and I didn't get to pick the menu. I'm hoping for baked chicken and a salad!
Bus--Loved the pictures--you and DH are cute together!
Thunder--tuna fish and dill pickels are SB legal! OK the sweets aren't. Tell DH that you don't want to get your baby hooked on sugar in utero. Have you tried keeping some of the SB legal chocolate around the house? A little goes a very long way and it might enough to keep you from feeling deprived when he gets into the cookies.
Deb--surely the bargain queen can find something stunning and at such a sale price that you get your money's worth even if you only wear it once! Besides every one needs at least one "Saturday go to temple dress" in their closet. I say buy yourself something nice for all those other Bat and Bar Mitzvah you will need to attend in the future. As for details--I'll tell when there is something to tell!
Vesnoid--what is a ghost lost? A loss is a loss hon--let's give that three lbs a great big ole WOOOHOOO!
BOB--I'll remember your advice for picking up Belle. I didn't sleep a wink last night and I think she knew something was up because she sleptright next to me all night long.
I hope everyone else has a good afternoon!
Susan

Howdy :)
Hiya everyone!!
DEB - I did what I could with my ingredients by dividing each amount by 8, because it made 8 like-size muffins. So I added the ingredients into my custom foods, and then added them according to how much of what the label considers a serving I had. Pumpkin is 1/4 cup, and I had one muffin (whole recipe = 1 1/2 c, so I had less than 1/4 c in one muffin... right?) so I just rounded up and said one serving. I did all the ingredients like that. I didn't add in the spices... should I?
TV - once you feel good enough to read the board again, remember I'm only about 10 minutes from you and if you need ANYTHING girl, PLEASE email me... I'll do anything I can!!!
My boys' birthday party is tomorrow night, and almost everyone is sick, or had something come up... so the party we planned for 30 kids, will be lucky to have 10. They won't care... it's a Chuck E. Cheese... and they love that place!! (I'm having the salad!!)
My boss asked me today what I wanted instead of a Birthday Cake... she does a cake at a staff meeting each month for everyone who has a birthday that month... mine is next month. Wasn't that sweet of her... This will be my first birthday without a cake... lol. I'll have to make a cheesecake for myself the day before.
I think I'm going to go buy myself a pair of size 14 jeans. My goal is to be able to fit in them before my anniversary, and maybe if they are HERE, and I can look at them, and try pulling them on... then it will be easier to say 'can you squeeze your butt in those pants yet? no? then get it away from the goodies!' Is it nuts to buy a pair of jeans smaller??
OK, I'm off to get laundry caught up and do some reading

It's A Girl!!
Ooooo I am so happy it is a girl!! The lil guy I babysit who turns 2 years old on Sunday, got a baby sister this morning. Since I have one girl and two boys of my own, I really was wanting another girl. Of course she is not *mine* but since I will be babysitting her 9 hours a day, Monday to Friday I did have my preference.
Now I feel like Kimmythekid with her 5 kids. She will have only 2 weeks with her Mom before she has to go back to school. So I will have a 2-week old girl on my hands then along with the rest.
My girl-8 (turns 8 end of March)
My boy-6
My boy-3
Her boy-2 on Sunday
Her girl-2 weeks!!
What a household we will have! I should lose lots of weight!
Rosalie-Thanks for the input about the sauce. I am a nob and didn't think of the tomato as a fruit but of course once I read that I realized it again...the things we forget when we aren't classifying our food. I also got some of the Primo Lentil soup and will try that later...I am looking forward to it.
Monet-I still couldn't find the WW Pastry Flour today so i will have to look in the *big city*, Fredericton, this weekend. Rosalie said they sell it at Bulk Barn so I will try there before bothering you with it, but thanks for the offer, it is much appreciated.
pooch- My hubby is like that too. Wood is cheaper and now that we live in New Brunswick, so many heat with wood, we use it exclusively. I laughed when we moved here from Ontario...I didn't know people still heated with wood!! Sounds so..primitive. I do love the smell and the feel of it though.
BusDeb- I agree with everyone else in that you have a beautiful place there. Such beauty in creation! What a wonderful view to have!

Will be watching Survivor tonight. Will post tomorrow and let you know how things went.
TV - Hope you're doing well.
FILLISE - Glad to hear that Miss B is doing well.
Have a great night.

HI everyone -
Just checking in - trying to stay op and get in some exercise. One day is good, then I have a slide. I just need to keep plugging along.
Pooch - we're having chili tonight and some legal dessert made from SF lemon jello, low fat cream cheese and agave. Should be yumilicious as BOB would say!
Busdeb - loved those pictures from Gatlinburg. Was that the cable from the sky tram in the background? We love that area and would really like to retire near there when the time comes. The cabin looked really nice, and so did you and your DH. We want to rent a cabin the next time we go. Were you happy there, or was it a return trip because you liked the cabin so much? What rental company did you use? When we were down there in November, we checked out some of the cabin locations close to Dollywood, but didn't actually go in any of them, so any recommendations you have would be great for our next trip!
Deb - even if you got a new scale, you would still weigh the same. So if you are happy where you are now, would it really make a difference if one scale said 126 and one said 122. I only say this because I think most dieters become obssessed with that number on the scale and their whole outlook on the "diet" or even life is ruled by that number and that number sets the mood for the day. How you want to feel, the food you feed your body, etc. are really what counts, not the number on a machine IMHO. I'm guilty of this all the time, but how much more free would we be if we could lose the hold that number has on us?
I will now get down off the pedestal Hope this didn't come across as preachy 'cause I don't mean it to be. Just food for thought.
Time for that chili!
Catch you all later!
Karen

Hey Ladies -
Just a quick post to say hello! My DH has been fussing cause I've been spending so much time on the computer - he doesn't understand that you have to read all of the posts and with so many people that takes time!! I got released from the doctor today so we are having "date night" if you get my drift! HAHA! I started my depolupron shots today - so no period for 6 MONTHS - now I won't have any more excuses - he is very happy! HAHA!
SLAP: I have to laugh at your feet story! I HATE being touched at night when I'm sleeping - I could put a fence between the 2 of us! HAHA! I guess I'll never get pregnant if I do that though!
BUS: Great pics. I'd love to go there - it is so beautiful! I want a digital camera too - they are great. I'll be posting some pics from Mardi Gras soon - I have to get them developed first! I have some from the day we rode in the parade - should be quite interesting! HAHA!
BETH: I love pumpkin bread - are the muffins like that in any way?
THUNDER: Where exactly is JENA? I'm not familiar with it...I'm in Thibodaux.
POOCH: I'm getting ready to chow on crawfish etoufee over whole wheat pasta - can't wait! I'm starvin! We usually eat that over rice but I figured I'd try it with pasta - I'll let you know how it is.
Ok - let me run - sorry I couldn't post to everyone - I don't want to get fussed! heehee!

Thursday
Hi everybody- hope all the sick kids and animals are on the mend! I'm happy to report that no one is currently sick at our house, 'tho Cleo the wonder poodle does need to go get yet another cyst removed when I get around to calling the vet. She's sending hugs and barks to Dixie and Belle.
Have managed to string together 4 100% OP (BFL) days in a row- I can always stay SB legal, but can't say that for BFL I'm just finishing week 8 and really want to see results at the end of this 12 week challenge so I'm really trying. The workouts are no problem, I could just live in the gym all day if real life didn't interfere, but the nutrition is another story FROG said to picture what ever is tempting you tied around your waist under your belly skin, and that has helped.
ok, enough about me.
gracious- I can't imagine heating by wood! I'd be coughing the whole winter which I guess is pretty long in NB You certainly have a house full.
tv- hope you are feeling better today, my thoughts have been with you. Let us know how you are doing.
beth- I'd buy those jeans, better yet, I'll send you mine. I love to have a pair of too small but within the realm of possibility jeans around to try on every week. The first time I can actually wear them for a few hours in public is such a joy! My boss gave me a pair of jeans that just didn't fit her right about a month ago and I could barely zip them, and certainly couldn't breathe. But I wore them to work on Monday! Boy did that feel great. So did taking them off!
Sol- do I need to stay up til 1am to try to register for wdw? Sounds like there are only 1000 slots for unaffiliated out-of-staters! I'm sure I can't stay awake that long- I'll have to try at 6:30 tomorrow am.
Frog- still haven't looked for my old text books, but my calf muscle looks like a W draped from my knee in back. Very defined, but seems to be missing a piece in the middle. Gotta find those books...didn't pay much attention to the "squishy parts" when I took anatomy. I was only interested in the skeletal system (degree in forensic anthropology, how useful).
off to put ds to bed...

Hello all,
Well my 16yr DS and his team became tournament champs tonight. They won Tuesday ,Wednesday and then tonight . All the games were very exciting. He is very excited.
I have bus recertification tomorrow.....that means 4 hrs of sitting still and we all know I don't do that too well. I dread it so much. But at least I will have my buds to endure it with.
Thanks to all for the comments about the pictures. We really did have a good time . We go every year about this time with our dearest friends. It was their 23rd anniversary. We were glad to share it with them.
Karen.....yes that was the sky tram in the background.....usually we stay on the other side of the mtn. We loved this side and also the chalet .....it was called HEAVEN SENT and the owners in the guest book spoke of an angel that dwelled there. We were not sure if that meant a child of thiers that had passed on or something else. But everyone who stays there leaves an angel in the house for them. The place was full of them .....it was very nice. We will stay there again next year for sure. We rent thru Chalet Village .....so try them. We always have good luck with them.
Frog......praying for Dixie ....butI must have missed something....not sure what is going on with her.....someone clue me in. LOL
Well guys I am tired.....need to hit the hay.....cya later.
Smiles,
Debbie

We had company tonight and I MISSED THE FIRST SURVIVOR!! I was going to record it and forgot all about it. I'm bummed
We have another snow storm coming for Friday night and Saturday. I'm dreading the shoveling
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

STILL FUNKY.............
HiedieHo All!!
I made myself go to the NH this morning and then to gym. As I twirled that mixmaster, I wondered "Do I really want to do this?" My conscience said "YES!" so I continued, upped my time on bike and my reps for back and abs. Was glad to get home.
For supper I made Shepherd's pie. Actually two, one the regular for family, and one for me with WW Spiral noodles that were left over and some left cauliflower. It made a nice topping. I will freeze a couple of servings of mine for weekends. We sort of hang loose on weekends and family likes to warm up pizza or something easy. I always have OP things in freezer for those times.
I am glad to find we can have carrots, I stopped buying the salad mixes with carrots because it was a pain to pick them out. I also enjoy cooked carrots.
There is a Fresh Foods store opening here. I will have to check them out. In NJ there was a Fresh Food by my folks and they really had nice stuff.
Am tired must head to bed.
Take care, Shirley

Good Morning
Just had to tell you that my new scale has me down one more pound this morning. Yippee. Maybe it is time to ignore the old one! It didn't show any change from yesterday.
Sef - Way to go on the exercises. Glad you decided to stick with it.
Gotta run. I'm off to work in a few minutes.
Marie.
