Good afternoon everyone

Yesterday I had a few people over for dinner. We had roast lamb with mint chutney, squash casserole, green peas, mashed potato and gravy. It all turned out very well. I did have a little mashed potato but everything else was legal. There was lots of potato left over which one of my friends was happy to take home. So no more temptation there. We had cheesecake for dessert which I made with an almond crust. There were a few servings left over and that is now in the freezer. After dinner we all played darts, which was fun.

I got up quite late this morning so missed breakfast and just finished lunch a short while ago which was leftover lamb, gravy, squash and peas. For dessert I had a couple of oatmeal breakfast bars. I just had an invitation to go and visit a couple I know who live in one of the other buildings here this afternoon so better go jump in the shower soon.

BOB - You must have needed that extra sleep to sleep in so long. So sorry to hear Fillise's news. Will keep her and her family in my thoughts.

CountryMom - That spinach recipe sounds yummy.

SUE - . Don't by shy. Just step right in and join the gang.

I just got in from one of the international farmer's markets near here. This one is owned by Indians. I am fixing dinner for church tomorrow, and am making an Indian style curry with brown basmati rice, salad, Mango ice cream and pound cake. I got juice packed mandarin oranges, and coconut and sliced almonds for the curry garnish. I plan to use boneless thighs to save $$.

I had two hypoglycemic moments while shopping...I was shakey and almost sick. I used my glucose tablets which helped a lot. The market was SO crowded, and the lines at the checkouts were very long. I was glad to get out of there. What an ordeal! I found some interesting stuff though. I like a brand of Indian curry pastes called Patak. I have only found their mild and hot curry before. This place had Tikka Masala, Garam Masala, and Vindaloo. I got a Tikka Masala to try. I will go back for the others later. I go by this place a lot, so it will be fun to try some of the other ones. I like Indian cooking very much. Unfortunately, my family is not as keen on it, but guess who makes the menus??

FRUIT: I think Gator must be busy, but I think she will probably be back in a week or so. She did post once about three weeks ago. I wonder if they are going to Florida's bowl game?? Where is it? (don't laugh at me...at least I know it is tomorrow! )

Off to find something to eat before we have to head out to church.

Howdy all.. Just finished dinner. I made a stir fry with some broccoli, cabbage, onions, garlic and steak. I served it with brown rice. It was good and theres a little leftover for lunch tomorrow. Today has been a good day of eating. Just wish I would get in the mood for some exercise. Its been rainy and gloomy here today. Well tomorrow starts another week. Prayers for Fillise and family.

Well thank you all for such a warm welcome! I am very glad to be here.

Bob, I will work on my bio after the 2 little ones go to bed. Right now I cant hear myself think. They have to go to sleep sometime, right? lol If we all had 1/2 their energy, well you know how the saying goes.

Monet, sorry to hear about your levels dropping, not fun indeed. Hope you are feeling better now.

This weekend was a semi sucess, lots of water weight gone. Picking healthy choices after a lifetime of crackers and chips was a challenge. It also doesnt help that we live in the middle of nowhere and have limited availabilty of things.

Fitday is a great resource which I have spent alot of time on. Problem I am coming across is not eating enough. Seems healthy food is filling and low calorie. Who knew?

I know I didnt answer everyone individually, Sorry for that but where I have come into the conversation late in the week I had a hard time following it all. Monday will be a fresh start.

Once again, thank you all for being so welcoming!
