I have been a member here for about five years and been "talking" about losing weight since then, but now I am not just "talking" about it, I am "doing" it. I committed myself to making some serious changes this year so that I can get healthy once and for all. So, as of January 1 I am now down 20 pounds. I still have a long way to go, but I know I will get there as long as I keep moving in the right direction.
Melody - That's so awesome! You're doing a wonderful job...20 pounds in 2 months is amazing, and that's such an inspiration to me! I've been losing motivation more and more every week, and people like you inspire me to keep moving!!
Thanks for all the support! Losing weight is the hardest thing in the world to do. Five years ago I quit smoking when I got pregnant with my son and that was so much easier because I just didn't buy any more packs, but you can't quit eating all together so it's more of challenge.
I know this will be the time that I meet my goal and I can just imagine how elated I will feel when I can come to this board and post a message saying that I have met my goal! I hope to be able to do that by January 2007.
Wow! I agree with everyone else, that is truly incredible! Maybe for the past 5 years you were never able to really lose weight because it just wasn't the right time-- quitting smoking, being a wife, taking care of your kid and being a teacher are all a LOT of work, but it's great that you can finally not only step up to the challenge but kick its butt!
YAYYYY!!! for both of us too!! I also started in january and have lost 20lbs...and this is definietly enough motivation to keep going and going! Maybe we can post our new selves in our bikinis when we finally make it!!!! CONGRATS!!!!
That's great! Keep doing what you're doing, and you'll get there. I also have a long way to go, but it's nice to start out your journey with a nice big loss. I've lost 40 since December 12, 2005. GOOD LUCK, CHICK!!!!
Congratulations Melody and Ladypeace!! What a great accomplishment! Any great secrets? Or are you simply choosing to lead a healthier life? That was what I decided to do just over two years ago and I have NEVER felt better.
I look forward to reading more about your successes.
