Smile Hello. Blast from the past and a small success!

Hello ladies! It's been quite some time since I've been on the boards. I joined back when I was researching the South Beach Diet. I've decided to come back and share my small success.

One week ago, I went and bought a scale. I stepped on it and was horrified to find that it weighed me in at 205lbs (I am 5 ft 4 in). I told my husband that this was it! Even when I was 9 mos preggers with my youngest daughter, I only got to 198 (she is now 2 1/2). He said okay and that he'd support me.

For the past week, I have been eating dramatically different than before. For starters, I ate a bowl of cereal every day (either Wheat Chex or Frosted Mini Wheats with skim milk). Before, I would usually skip breakfast. Also, and I don't know how this happened, but I had cut my caffeine intake. Usually, I would nurse a pot of coffee all day long. For the past week, I've drank about 2 cups max...threw the rest of the pot out! And then with everything else, I just really watched what I ate. I didn't go back for seconds. I ate salads a couple of times a week and I didn't eat later in the evening (I did have on candy bar one night and a small bowl of ice cream another night).

I would have excercised except I have this horrible head cold and cough.

Well, I weighed myself today to learn that I had lost 5 lbs!!! Now I know this is just a small step, but it's a small step in the right direction. And I have to say, I am super stoked about it!
