IMPORTANT re Recipes!!!! Please read.

  • We've just implemented a new procedure for Recipe postings.

When you submit a recipe it will not appear immediately but must wait for moderation. The MODs will check for such things as serving sizes and SBD approved ingredients before OKing it for approval. Responses to the threads will not be moderated.

As some of you know the MODs are currently trying to organize and consolidate our huge Recipe Forum. This will help make our job easier in future.

Happy cooking! This is the diet that's all about Good Food!
  • Thanks RuthXXX - so if we have a new "idea" where do we "post it"? Sorry I am still new to all of this and would rather be double sure I don't do somthing wrong.

Hope you are having a great Tuesday - and good luck tonight for the test :-)
  • Just go ahead as if you were posting it in the Recipe Section. It won't post until after it's been MOD approved.
And don't ever worry about doing something wrong! we all do and nothing is irreversible except when a MOD permanently deltes a thread - ask me how I know that one!

Thanks for the wish for luck with Lucy -she is sleeping now and resting up!
  • Thanks Ruthxxx - you will both do GREAT tonight and pass with flying colors
  • thank you .. I wish everyone would list the stats also..

    CALORIES.. PROTEIN.. FAT.. CARB.. FIB..
    THANX
  • Nutritional Info is not always available unless you run recipes through Mastercook or Fitday. That would be a huge job for the MODs but perhaps folks could list that IF they have it. Some of the recipes do have that info.
  • Yikes! I know this forum is strict but yikes.
  • Misti, it's a big forum and a big job so.......
  • Ruthxxx - I think you guys do a great job :-)

If people are that concerned they can take thier time to find out all of the details - afterall you can only do so much in a day.

I just like having so many different ideas and choices -

Thanks for doing a great job and always keeping us movatited
  • Thanks, RMT. Sometimes folks forget that MODs are unpaid volunteers and have real lives - at least, I did last time I looked!
  • Well, me too...though it might not look like much of a life!

Misti, I'm sorry that it seems too strict. We try to do whatever we can to make the forum feel as comfortable and stress-free for the members as possible. When members find a recipe they are really excited about, but can't tell how many people it will feed, or an ingredient mentioned in the directions isn't in the ingredient list, etc., it can make for a lot of frustration. (Especially if you figure this out after you've printed it and decided on it for dinner, like I've done with recipes from other sites! )

This deal with the recipes isn't meant to be strict at all. It's just much easier for us to look at the recipes when they come in than to have to search all the forums every day for any recipes that might have problems or wait to hear from a member that they're frustrated. It shouldn't mean more work for you, but it means less work for us. Nutritional information is really helpful for everyone, but some recipes just don't have it, and we don't expect you to go hunting for it just to share a great recipe. Just make sure it has a serving size...if it doesn't but you've made it, try to approximate. It's awful to make something that you think will feed six only to find out that it feeds 2.

Thanks, Beachies! You make this job so much fun!
