In the original fast food list, this was one of the things that was allowed in phase 1 and many of us ate it. The Wendy's website does list the ingredients and there are small amounts of stuff that isn't great but overall it is fine (at least I think so).

There is a new South Beach Dining Guide that came out not too long ago and it lists the chili as phase 3.

Oh man, you do NOT want to eat Wendy's chilli!!! My friend, Scott, used to work at Wendy's and he told me that they would make it from all the leftover hamburgers that had been sitting out forever and the burgers that fell on the floor. Yuck! Make your own, that's much better for ya!

Well, lots of things happen in restaurants and fast food places - that's why it's always best to make your own.

Check out the recipe section for Chili. It freezes and reheats well. I usually make a huge batch and freeze in serving sizes.

I've got chili simmering in the crockpot now, in fact. I used the "Wendy's Chili" recipe that is posted. It tastes like the restaurant one but is so much healthier. It does make a LOT of chili so I have to use my huge crockpot.

Can anyone give me the recipe for the chili you are talking about??? I would love to make it :-)

Thanks and hope everyone is doing well. Made hamburgers on the grill tonight for dinner and put just a tomato slice and salt and pepper on it - was great - the husband and my duaghter had ketcup and a big roll - didin't bother me - it sure does feel great that I can watch them eat it and it doesn't bother me :-)

Talk to you all soon

If you check out our Phase I recipes, there are several legal chili recipes there. You can also Google Wendy;s Chili Recipe and find their recipe there.

When there really is no where else to eat, like during long drives with small rest stops, I usually pick Wendy's over McD's (refuse to eat there at all!!!) or BK. I usually get the chili and a small salad...but they now have a Mexican themed taco salad that is made with their chilli. I get it without the chips--the dressing portion size is huge, but it's OP and yummy...I just use half. It definitely has more fat than we are supposed to regularly consume (it's all saturated...cheese etc.), but it's a pretty healthy choice compared to some of what's out there. If I get to choose, I'd rather go to Panera ( ) or to Ruby Tuesday's.

But I agree, homemade is the best! I love the recipe for White Chicken Chili under Phase 1 in the recipe forums. It's delicious!

There are a lot of good chilis in the recipe section. The Wendy's one I use is http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61342 I made it last night and three of us had it for dinner and I still had four portions leftover to freeze. I love hot soups even when it is hot outside (104 degrees yesterday). If I have to eat out then I do normally get a small Wendy's chili and a side salad but I avoid eating out whenever possible.

Wow, Barb! It's 54ºF here right now and I'm getting the urge for a cozy bowl of chili for lunch! I have 6 oz of beef, kidney beans and tomatoes so watch me go!

Kiko - I just want to know why they can't keep the city pools open past Labor Day! I'm mean, it will still be in the hundreds. It's not like the water will be cold!
