Default Fat Free Refried Beans confusion....

I saw lots of recipes with these for Phase I but my book says that in Phase II you can start to reintroduce Pinto Beans. Refried Beans are Pinto Beans so shouldn't these recipes be in Phase II not Phase I.

I mean I would love to have some Refried Beans with the Carne Asada I am making for us for dinner tonight.

I'd love to have Ruth or Laurie reply to this since I checked my book and you are right. Personally, the ones I use are fat free refried black beans and they are allowed in phase 1

The most recent copy of the South Beach Good Fats Good Carbs Guide shows both pinto beans and fat free refried beans as being "good" for Phase 1.

Hope that helps

Thank you Suzanne. In my copy which I just bought it doesn't have that which is the cause for the confusion.
