Default Practice makes perfect...

I was curious what others eat as snacks that they have found keeps you full the longest? I know this varies from person to person and it is trial and error, but I thought that a list from others might make for some variety and would be a nice change.

I make the lettuce wraps but I use spicy hummus instead of the mayo stuff. I fill them with whatever veggies I want and hummus. YUMMY!!!

My latest favourite is celery stuffed with egg salad! Yummy! Protein and a veggie plus some good fat makes it very satisfying.

I have fallen in love with 2 tbs natural PB and bite size celery pieces.
They help me when I am making the kids' lunches.....the bad mommy habit of licking your fingers or taking a little nibble is hard to break!

Homemade (i.e. no sugar) three bean salad. Just like Ruth said...vegetable, protein, and healthy oil packs a powerful wallop!

I also love bell peppers and roasted red pepper hummus, plain fat free yogurt mixed with a little SF jam, splenda, and cinnamon, topped with 2 Tbsp of wheat germ, strawberries dipped in SF chocolate pudding with a string cheese on the side, and pears with laughing cow cheese.

I like a cup of broccoli (cooked). I'm about to grab a small can of lima beans. I eat most fruits. 1 double fiber wheat bread toast (Nature's own is 40cal) with a small amount of jam (or peanut butter for some folks), hummus (1 serv) and baby carrots, sugar snap peas (ready to eat from the bag), popcorn (with parmesan cheese), and beans (very filling, alot of fiber) are some examples.

Today I had 2 toasts (breakfast), 10 strawberries (snack), Ckn Noodle Soup (lunch) and now lima beans for a snack (not everybody's favorite but I like them. Supper I plan to make porkchops, broccoli, and green beans. I'll likely follow with a light snack before bed (I have to have a full stomach with meds before bed). Most days aren't so great, but I'm happy to post today's results .
