Default Hump Day Chatter - July 5

EVERYBODY UP!!!!!!

OK, chickies, the very long weekend is over and we are back on the correct Beach Path, right? You will be proud of me when I tell you I did not dip my strawberries into the chocolate fountain at the vernissage last night! I didn't buy any paintings either, although there were several I really liked.

It's fairly cool out there this morning so I am going to get in my gardening stint early before we get back to hot and humid! (I actually shut off the AC this morning and opened some windows.) The Girls and I had breakfast on the deck - a major stir-fry of veggies held together with an egg and served on ww toast. I've definitely made a good start on the day with two servings of veggies! I'm hoping to pick the rest of the strawberries later this morning and freeze some for winter shakes. They are nearly over but raspberries and blackberries are next plus blueberries! Can you tell they are my berry favourite fruits? (Sorry! I guess this could be considered food porn to some of the Phase I folks!)

So what's happening today on your spit of sand?

Wink I gotta go pack!!!

Happy Day after July 4th!!!!

I survived the Monster-In-Laws yesterday. It was a very emotionally tough day but I survived. I even came home and didn't overeat!!! I made hubby stop on the way home and grab a diet coke (I try to avoid soda and only do water and milk). I needed something special for me. Instead of staying home and eating myself into a frenzy, I grabbed the kids and headed to the tennis courts. I got a super workout running after the balls (we stink, but sure know how to have fun!)

Off to pack, we are outta here until Monday! Keep your fingers crossed that I can keep my positive attitude up in the face of kettle corn and restaurants. Hershey Park just smells like chocolate 24/7!!!!

Ruth, what a beautiful breakfast. I really need to work very hard to get those veggies in. Its a struggle I have to work on.

Have a great week ladies!

Ruth - I love berries! I just made a berry sauce (made with splenda, berries, cornstarch, cinnamon, and water) yesterday for DH's pancakes...I think it's on the WW Core recipe thread here. He's been trying to cut back on the calories too...but he won't go 'hard-core' SB...at least he's trying...the berry sauce was a pretty good alternative to syrup and had a wonderful syrupy consistency...let's just say he didn't push his plate away in a huff - lol

kmy - God Bless you for going to Hershey Park and being on SB!!! YOU are my inspiration...sending you lots of willpower dust!!

Just had my egg/jalapeno/bell pepper/onion scramble...Day 6 is off and running!

I do feel very thirsty but i've been drinking water like a mad woman (over 90 ozs daily!!) Any suggestions?

I've been starting to feel a little tired during my workouts but I know that will change once I hit phase II. I'm just going to keep trudging on with whatever workout I can muster for the time-being!

Here's to a great day!

GOOOOOOOD Morning Beachies!!!

Ruth on being a "good girl" yesterday! How I miss going to vernissages. I love berries too... I love a strawberry/blueberry smoothie as dessert!

Kmy: to you too for choosing to have fun with the kids rather than sooth yoerself with food! You'll do fine in Hershey After awhile I bet the constant smell of chocolate will grow old!

lucky!!

We went to the strangest "cookout/BBQ" ever.. I was quite befuddled by it...
All the hotdogs, hamburgers, ribs were already BBQ'ed ahead of time (Like 2 hours before everyone got there) , We ate inside, in the kitchen using real plates and forks... No music.... The couple who threw it are very nice people... with almost borderline OCD on cleanliness and order... They would run behind people picking up crumbs, swabbing the floor, ... Very bizarre!
On a better note, we went down to the lake to watch the town of Cary's firework display, the NC Orchestra was there playing good ole Americana songs like Turkey in the Straw, When Johnny comes marching home... We set up our chairs next to this set of 4 chairs and a giant Tarp, with nobody there... Apparently folks came down at noon, set their stuff up and leave...
In Josey that would never Fly... That stuff woulda been gone or tossed in the lake
Today center cut pork chops, NS applesauce, mashed cauliflower for dinner

Hello chicks! Glad to be back after a verrryyy long weekend. I made some very bad choices this weekend. I need to get out of my head for awhile and figure out how to deal with stress & life without resorting to food.

KO - hope you're feeling better soon.
Schatzi - life's a little rough in Jersey, hey? LOL I now live in a more rural place than where I grew up and I can't believe how trusting people are here.
Lucky - I don't think I've said yet. That berry sauce sounds so good!
KMY - good for you on getting out of the house and resisting your food urges....I need to be able to figure out how to do that. Here's some for your trip!
Ruth - "food porn" Thanks for the laugh this morning.

Well, better pretend to go get some work done....

Good morning gals!

Ruth WTG on avoiding the chocolate fountain- I am not sure I could have been that strong!!

Kmy You did a great job not stress eating!! Isn't it the best feeling when ou recognize that feeling and are able to conquer it?? I am a major stress eater and feel so good when I don't succumb to it.

Lucky I notice that you also live in Texas- it is so freaking hot here your body could be craving water. Although, 90+ ounces sure is a lot!!

Schatzi That is SO weird! I am used to outdoor, eat on your laps, and LOUD!!

KO Feel better!

Got loads of laundry going and doing some packing to get ready to leave in the morning. Our flight to NY actually leaves at 5:30 am, so we will be spending the night at my parents so my dad can make an early morning airport run. I am soooooooo looking forward to getting away with DH- we need it badly! I am sure I will be back to check in later, but if not- BEHAVE!! I am sure I will check in periodically while we are gone.

Kiko - Have fun on your trip! I've been away from Brian a few times while travelling for work or Scouts but I've never managed a trip with just my DH.

Lucky - You are in the same area as Kiko and I. Did you get any of that rain? We got a few sprinkles in Richardson but Plano looked soaked as I was driving to work this morning. I've been drinking a lot more too. Make sure you are getting your dairy and your beans/legumes. Those will help to take some of the tiredness away.

Me - My weight sure jumped this morning. Let's just say I won't be trying those Peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies again any time soon. Too tempting!

Hello all - thanks for your responses

Barb - We got a little rain but since we're in the south part of the DFW area i think it missed us for the most part. Who knows, maybe we're getting some right now!!

My thirst seems to be more of a dry mouth, if that makes sense...or maybe it's the same as thirst, i don't know...all i know is i feel like i drink water ALL THE TIME...but my lips are still fairly chapped (i heard that more water makes them softer)...hmm...

Schatzi - that is a strange bbq - maybe they aren't from the south?

Kelly - here's to getting back on the beach! I know you can do it!

KO - it might be the spicy foods...hmm...not sure about that one - but i love my jalapenos!! i can't possibly give those up

kiko - have a great trip - i've never been to NY

My my.....food porn, OCD, and trip to NY - what a day here!
Me - I'm off for 3 WONDERFUL days.....I have lots to do....cleaning, getting ready for my sister's bridal shower, passing out AVON books, but I'm thrilled to get away from the store for 3 days! I was suppose to go in today & do the schedule, but my boss gave me this crappy schedule & I'm not going to get paid for it, so it can either wait until Sat, or my boss can do it - doesn't matter to me.
I closed yesterday (we were open from 9-6) and I had to turn people away. Some gal was really nasty to me because I wouldn't let her come in & "just buy 2 shirts." Hmm, no wonder no one invited you to a bbq - you're a nasty, mean person. I'm sorry, but there's no need to be nasty to me because I want to go home & enjoy my family. I put my time in, now it's time to close.
After finally getting the store closed, I joined my df & his family at Bahama Breeze - we were celebrating his mom's b-day. I had the crispy chicken club salad - not the best thing, not the worst.
I'm off to clean the bathroom...have a great day

Good Afternoon Ladies

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A WONDERFUL INDEPENDENCE DAY

We had a quite 4th also. Just Leo & I BBQing chicken halfs w) salads & smoothies for dessert. This morning Leo went to the Barbers to get a crew cut. His hair was thinning and thought it was the best hair style, especially in this hot humid summer months. He just come home and he looks good.Hes going to look younger than me hehe!!

We wanted to walk along the beach now that some of the tourist are gone. They had over 13 mile backup over the bridge last night. But it started to rain and we just got 15 mins of walking done. Will have to go one my trusty bike this afternoon.

Hugs BB

Hey chicks! I'm gettin on here late. I decided today that it's going to be a start over. I changed my ticker and am going to focus on what I have left to lose and not worry about the weight I've gained anymore. Plus now my ticker's not lying anymore. I lost 6 pounds this past month but am not going to include it on my ticker.

I'm off to make lunch, a chinese stir fry over ww pasta. Yum!!

Have a great day chicks!

Hi everyone!!!

I'm new here.....I am just getting ready to start SBD (waiting for my book to come in the mail) I am kind of nervous but it sounds like I can probably do it. I think I have a million questions that I have to ask, but can't think of any right now ....lol
You all seem really nice and helpful....hopefully this will be a diet I can stick with. If any of you have any suggestions or ideas for me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!!
