Default I know it's superficial, but....

I'm going to cry. I tried on my bridesmaid dress today. I really AM a two-foot-tall upside-down pink light bulb. The dress comes to the middle of my calf and they're not going to shorten it any. I literally have 7 inches of leg sticking out from under the dress. This is the most unflattering dress I've ever put on in my life, and I have to wear it a week from Saturday. I'm tempted to go on the "vitamin and water diet" until then because I don't know what I'm going to do otherwise. I just don't have time to work out all the time, especially since I'm all over the place for this wedding.

Now, I know that this is not about me. I had my day when I got married. HOWEVER, I wanted my best friends to look as good as possible on that day, like a good friend would! I am TINY compared to the other girls who have to stand up there with me in this thing. I feel even worse for the other girls. Deep breaths. I just thought after dropping 14 lbs in the last few months that I would look better in this thing than I actually do.

I'm actually contemplating living on water, vegetables, beans, and soup starting Sunday. Tomorrow is the Day of Irish Food and Drink, and then the bridesmaid luncheon and bachelorette party are Saturday, so that's not going to happen until Sunday. I FEEL THE PRESSURE!!!!!

Anyway, that's enough being superficial and whining and stuff. Just thought I'd let you know that I'm freaking out. Hope all of you are well.

Lisa

Hey y'all. I have a Thursday night at home for a change, so just thought I'd check in and see what's up.

Amelie - Thanks for the water article. I was reading the part about drinking a lot of water to lose weight and was thinking - yeah, the reason that you'd lose weight that way is all of the calories you'd burn running back and forth to the bathroom! LOL

Cottage - I didn't know that about Mandissa. I'll have to share that with the other ladies when I go to Curves in the morning.

Soon - Glad that things with your Dad are better than you thought. Sounds like your sister is a lot like a couple of people that I work with. I swear, they just think of ways to stir things up! Anymore when we hear a new rumor from them, we always say "Take it with a grain of salt....and a shot of tequila!"
Good luck on the interview tomorrow!!!!!

Sarah - Wow - Hawaii! How cool is that??? I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Dare - You've been doing so great. Here's some for DB's birthday extravaganza.

Schatzi - My dust bunnies have a couple of days reprieve. I'm blowing off the cleaning until Saturday.

Beach - Be careful on your travels to and from. Remember to take care of yourself too.

Pink - I hear you on trying to work around all of the activities. I can't seem to make it through a week without cheating a little (or sometimes a lot) because it's always SOMETHING - birthday party, church dinner, team lunch at work. I haven't figured out yet how to gracefully turn down food that's being pushed my way. But, just need to keep trying.

Stephie - Congrats on the photo gigs. I'm sure it will be great to have some extra $ coming in.

Weezle - Ooooh, the dreaded pink bridesmaid's dress. I had to wear one of those in my sister's wedding. Enjoy the time with everyone and try not to think about it. I know, easier said than done!

Everyone have a great evening!

Sorry to hear about the dress Weezle...I still have nightmares about one I had to wear when I was 13. Big poofy skirt and sleeves, and the fabric was white with HUGE pink roses on it. Bleh. At least you all are stuck with the same dress, and I'm sure you're going to have a great time with everyone!
