I love this thread!!
I can put away candy, pizza, chocolate, bread, chocolate, lasagna, chocolate etc...with the best of em!!!
I know how to lose weight...and I have never learned how to keep it off!!!
I am so happy to be on south beach now!! For once in my life I am learning how to eat the right way for MY body!!! I am learning how good I feel when I eat the right way for MY body!!! I am enjoying starting to look better in MY body!!!!
I can't fault anyone because I am so very guilty of all the things they do!! I used to bring donuts in for everyone when I was on a diet...I wouldn't eat any...but I still brought them for everyone else!!
I just choose now to eat by example...and when people ask me why I'm eating a salad instead of a hamb., or why I am eating my fajitas without chips or tortillas or refried beans and rice, I can give them the answer and they can choose to listen or ignore!!!
I went to dinner with a good friend of mine...she means well...she asked me where I wanted to go...I said "anywhere"...she chose mexican and I got a salad that was perfect...grilled chicken and some vegies...a dark green lettuce salad with about 1/5 of an avacado and about a 1/3 C. black beans! Fresh salsa...all different kinds!
She said...well I am going to eat like the "diet too".
She got a salad with refried beans, lots of sour cream, a tortilla bowl and dressing...and ate my dressing also!!
She said to me, "It's so good being on South beach!!! I ate nachos for breakfast

and a big salad with blue cheese dressing and a potato for lunch

and now only a salad for dinner too

!!!"
I have shown her the information in the book, bought her a copy and emailed her information, helped her write out a menu and written out about 20 recipes for her....so at this point I figure she just isn't ready although she pretends she is on "the beach." I thought that was really interesting!!!
It was so hard not to say anything....but I figure she is a very intelligent woman and she is only fooling herself...
