Uggh! i just feel so big today...been drinking my water...so hopefully that will flush this yucky feeling out of my system...

what are people's plans for mother's day? Like I said before, we are having a roast on saturday (a little beef roast, should be good) and then we are going to my grandmmother's on Sunday -- so, we can see my mom, my grandma and my aunt (who is everyone's Godmother - mine, both of my kids') and...maybe Xanax will help me if I need to see my mother in law?? LOL!!! I haven't even discussed w/my hubby if he plans on seeing her...I made the comment we shoul send her a card "To Wicked B***h on Mother's Day, From Both" haha!!! Can you tell she isn't liked much?? Well, at Grandma's house they are having pizza, pasta salad and I am taking a green salad..only thing I should eat, ya know?? My hubby and my grandfather and uncle are playing golf that day.

Okay, enough right now, I will check back later..I have to work today (argh!) from 2-8pm...I feel bad for those of you who work 5 days a week and normal hours. I only have to work 3 days a week for a total of 19 hours...I am lucky and I know it.

Alright, I know I've been MIA in the daily as of late, but I'm still here!

I want to send a huge thank you to Laurie for posting the veggie info and to Ruth for Sticky-ing it. I can't tell you the number of times I've checked and re-checked that since you posted. It's such an excellent resource.

As for the diet, I've been OP now since Day 1, Phase 1 with the exception of one night out with DF. And after that night I felt so miserable! Bleh. Anyway, I weigh in tomorrow and hopefully we can change the ticker for the good!

Mom has joined me on South Beach this week and she's doing great! She picked up a huge cookbook this weekend at a yardsale for $1.00. It's called Light Cooking something or other, published in 1994 and is chock full of excellent recipes, most of which are OP or easily converted!

DF and I have been trying a new veggie every week or so. So far:

Yuck - Radishes, Sweet Potatoes
Yum - Red Bell Peppers

We've decided that getting brave with new foods is quite the adventure!

I hope everyone has an excellent weekend! Flowers to all the moms out there.....

~Sarah~ That's too funny! (about your mother-in-law) In my case.......it's my mother.......and step-mother for that matter! I think I'll hold on to my mother in law as she's the most sane of the three!!! Oh, you don't have to rub it in ....about the 3 days/19 hours a week! hee! hee!

Adia, so good to see you in the daily again!

On friday afternoons the crickets are always chirping. I think everyone goes off to enjoy the sunshine and leaves us hardworking girls alone.

Thanks so much for the comment on the picture! That was taken on my birthday weekend in early April. So glad you like the veggie info. I've really been amazed at how many veggies I've come to like! You know what sounds disgusting but is phenomenal? That greens and turnips recipe I posted in the recipe forum. It's from the Mooswood Cookbook (have you ever been there, Adia? It's up in Ithaca). You really have to roast the turnips until the ends are dark brown to make them sweet, but they come out amazing and are so good with the greens and it has so many nutrients you feel like you are feeding every cell in your body! :

Do you guys like yams? They actually have more nutrients than sweet potatoes. We like ours with smart balance and low fat sour cream. Yum!!!

well, I had to work alllll day long today...went in at 6, got off at 4!!! and now I have to be back at 4 am because I have 2 wedding cakes and about a dozen other orders to do before I have to finish all my mother's day items, etc...haven't cheated at work all week long...so that means no stress eating all week!!!! even when i was getting overwhelmed today I didn't jam anything into my mouth...I still feel a little sick, my glands are still swollen so it's a little hard to swallow, might just order out tonight and get some yummy soup and salad...have to pray that I won't be tempted to order a cheesesteak sub or something sinful like that...i'm just tired...I don't feel like cooking, definitely don't feel like eating but I know I have to eat something...i just wan't to feel better, not sick and tired...but at least I've lost a few pounds this week, I had started with the Beach a week ago yesterday, and I think that it has gone really really well...thanks to all the info and advice you all share...

Hello Everyone,

What a week, I am trying to the responsible person I usually am and not kick my senior class out before graduation. I told them this week they were suffering from the "Princess Syndrome". Princess don't think they have to do anything!!! Neither does this class. 12 class days until Senior exams YEAAH!!!

I am really bummed out I tried WW CORE for one week. Oh I was MISS Perfect. I gained a perfect 1.5 pounds. I will be back on this beach PHASE I bright and early MOnday morning.

If I don't make it back on before MOnday,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!

Bamie--so happy your surgery is over, let DD take care of you!!

HUGS AND PRAYERS,
WANDA

ok, i did it!!! I made it in and out of my fave carryout spot with only a salad and a small cup of soup!!! and it was so yummy, I almost didn't miss my sub! i've been really good with the willpower thing this week...we keep a scale at work and the other morning, the donuts I was making looked sooooo good...but I went and jumped on the scale and saw that I had lost three pounds and decided that the donut just didn't look so good anymore...lol...now, all I need is to find a scale to tote around with me all of the time...maybe that would be a good business idea...portable scales...lol
