Default i woke up just a little thinner today!!

Hello all! I've been lurking around a little bit and have been researching the South Beach Diet...I started following the diet on Thursday and this morning, there was a little less of my in the mirror!!! I was sooooo excited! I just wanted to introduce myself, to share that fact, and to thank you all for all the sharing you do...of your success stories, your troubles, your recipes and your food finds...I am going to give this South Beach thing a try...I had never looked into it before because the name of it sounded too superficial...lol...I don't know why, but it just didn't "sound" like it would work and I didn't even know the principles of it...but it seems like a really sensible, doable way to lose weight...I tried WW twice but my weight always platued around 10-12 pounds lost and I never lost much around my waist (which is a big problem area for me...) but I could see my stomach has gone down just a little already...I can' wait to weigh myself on Thursday to see just how much I've lost my first week!!

Congrats on finding the Beach. We absolutly love the diet and having each other here. I know my hubby always laughs because I constantly check to see if anyone has updated the forum.

I look forward to hearing about your success on Thursday. Keep it up.

JNM, that's funny! My mom mentioned South Beach to me, and told me that everyone in LA (at the time) was doing it. Putting beaches and the propensity for people in LA to go on fad diets together, I figured this wasn't something I would want to do. It wasn't until my doctor mentioned it that I took it seriously.

Have you read the book? I think you'll find a lot of great info in our FAQ and great recipes in the recipe forum. Enjoy...we're glad you're here!

Welcome!!!

I thought the same thing as some of you guys, I had heard the name mentioned and always pictured super model thin women starving themselves on only melons or something, My doctor recommended it about a month and a half ago after I broke down in his office begging for SOMETHING ...apparently his wife has lost 90 pounds!!! told me after much research he feels this plan is by far the best...so here I am, 12 pounds lighter this month!!

That is sooo funny! I really did think the same thing. I heard about it a couple of years ago on E! TV or something and I thought "Wonder what new crazy diet all the stars are doing now!"

I love the name now, it sounds so exotic and fun! And it is!

Wow, I am soooo glad that I am not the only one that initially "judged the book by its cover"...no, I have not picked up the book yet, but I want to this week...but just by going along with the tips here and the rules posted, I have been doing pretty good so far...I never imagined that it could be so simple and feel so "right"...I don't feel like I am doing something that could hurt my body like so many diets seem like...Thank you all for your warm welcomes...

Nicki, though this WOE is definitely healthy and eventually very easy to follow, at first it can be really confusing, especially if you haven't read the book. You really should read it as soon as possible. It would be way too easy to mess up Phase 1 without the book's guidance, so please read it ASAP, okay?
