Post side effects anyone?

Hi all -- several of you have talked about sugar withdrawals and the flu-y feelings. I have been on phase 1 since April 10 (day 11 today) and I am doing well, no cheating. I have not had those side effects, but I have had a couple of others. My hubby and I have both noticed that we are sleeping better (a good side effect) but we have also both noticed that we are mildly constipated, probably because of the lack of fruit. I have been drinking lots of water, but just wondered if anybody else has noticed this, and if so, what have you done?

Thanks,
Deb

It happens to alot of peeps. I try to take fiber. Dr.A. recommends Metamucil cause it is sugar free. Most recommend powder over pills but you can do either one I do believe.

It definitely happened to me and so did the sleep thing. I have noticed that I only need 8 hours and that I just wake up after that feeling refreshed...which is really cool.

I had the constipation thing too, but it faded in phase 2.

Yep. My dr. suggested the Metamucil, but said that it usually takes about 2-3 days to work in your system.

Thanks a lot, everybody. Glad to know this is normal, and it will go away. I guess I just need to adjust.

Constipation is super normal on this plan, Deb. So glad you are sleeping better!

I know the chickies gave you lots of good advice, but if you find that the constipation doesn't go away after a week on Phase 2, check with your doctor, just in case, okay?

I find that stool softeners help me out. The metamucil was giving me gas, unfortunately.
