Smile Cooking with Yogurt

Ever since Barb posted that muffin recipe made with yogurt months back I've been added to coming up with different ways to use yogurt. Apparently I'm not the only one. Got this link in my e-mail from Recipezaar this morning:

Helpful Hints for Cooking With Yogurt

Good stuff! I'll post the link in the FAQ. It's not a question but good info.

Thanks for the link, Sarah.
Plain yogurt is also a great marinade for chicken when you add spices to it like curry, cumin and corriander. I use it for Chicken Satay. Plus the yogurt tenderizes the chicken, too.

Mmm, yogurt!

I love yogurt in tzatziki sauce. The recipe is in the forum, under miscellaneous Phase 1, I think.

Great idea, Sil!

Thanks for posting this, Adia! A cookbook I have talks a lot about making yogurt cheese to use in recipes. Might be another thing to consider.

If you happen to have a Trader Joes, or any healthfood/specialty store, look for Fage brand greek-style yogurt (they make a f/f and l/f version). The fat free is the most yummy creamy stuff I've ever eaten, and no funky added ingredients. Ingredients are: Grade A pastuerized skimmed milk, milk protein, live active cultures.
